I was wondering how to treat skin discoloration. I have severe sking discoloration on my upper inner thighs. The skin is darker in areas. I use to heat up heating pad repeatedly and place it in my lap and I thought that may have been the cause. I have stopped heating it up but the skin discoloration is still there. I think it tends to get worse in the cold. I am not sure if my weight loss may be a factor.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it might be due to chloasma of pregnancy.It is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral or patch contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
The treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.
I it uncomfortable as the scrotum is tight most of the time. There is no pain. The discoloration starts at the top of my scrotal skin, right near the penis and goes all the way around my scrotum down to the perineum. I have been tested for chlamydia and gonnorhea and tests came back negative. I don't believe it's the weight lifting supplements that i take.
My 5 year old daughter has a circular skin discoloration on the back of her lower leg. We first noticed it about a month ago, but it has not gone away. We first thought it was a burn, but she was not burned. We then thought it might be a birth mark, but upon closer inspection found that the texture felt different than the surrounding skin. She also says that pressure on the area hurts. She also says that it hurts a little when she runs.
You don't mention if this is something new. If it is, you might want to be checked for insulin resistance. You might want to point this out to your doctor so you are not overlooking something like prediabetes or diabetes. Otherwise, if it proves to be nothing, I'm not sure what would work to lighten the area. Sorry and hope you find the answer you are looking for. Good luck.
please help, i have some skin discoloration on my upper lip, but the thing is that it it lighter than the rest of my face..it has made me feel very self conscious and i wanted to know what there is i can do to make it blend in with the rest of my colour. thank you!
I am African American,and I was using this make-up for a while and discovered that it was making me develop a patch of skin discoloration on my forehead.I have stopped using the make-up for a while now and the patch is still there. It is lighter then the rest of my face. Is there anything that I can buy to reverse the problem?.

I have skin discoloration from bruise, insect bites,cut or burn after healing it leaves a spot that never goes away. I am 39 years and I have had this problem since I was teenager. I use bleaching creams for a period of two weeks or less as long there is no sign of improvement I discontinue.
It would certainly be an unusual side effect if it were from either of these medications. Only your doctor can help you determine that by looking at the skin the color discoloration. Perhaps you should ask for a consultation with a dermatologist.
