Avatar f tn s like they are on fire hurting. stiff neck and all. was taking the tram for degenerative disk disease in the neck so i was wondering, is this a symptom of w/d? or is this the pain that i am to endure after being clean? this *****.
Avatar m tn When switching to the new med, does the body experience w/d from the other opiate, even though a new opiate is replacing the old opiate. In other words, let's say you "rotate" your meds once every 6 months. At those 6 month intervals, when your physician places you on a different medication, do you experience withdrawals for a few days? I have a theory that different opiates attach to diff opiate receptors.

Avatar f tn I have been taking norco for over 7 yrs for various things including fibromyalgia, well now its never enough and I take too many and keep running out. This time I have to wait 2 + weeks and my body is freaking out and I am in such pain and mental agony. Its been 4 days and still seems worse, now I have run out of my anxiety med, klonopin for sleep and am having severe withdrawls from both. Legs and arms shaking, vomiting, can't sleep, pain, and I can't say anything to the dr.
542867 tn?1214172629 Okay, let me clear this up for you guys. I use 400mg of oxycodone a day for the last 3 years (prescribed). I'm in severe chronic pain (and now withdrawal). I just took 12mg of Lopermide (The active ingredient in Immodium AD) and it greatly inhibited my opiate withdrawal (about 70%), and withdrawal I describe as the worst possible feeling in existence. I feel incredibly better 30minutes after taking it.
Avatar m tn He is going to put me on Clonidine 3x a day for 7 days. I also asked him to prescribe something for the diarrhea as well as the aches in pains. I am concerned that after getting off the pain meds completely I will be start experiencing the pain in my back again, but I will not want to get back on anything that strong or anything that is addictive. I am praying that I can get off these by just sticking it out with the clonidine.
Avatar f tn in past fifteen years, (8) it is likely that opiate withdrawal has become more severe. (9) Symptoms of heroin withdrawal usually begin four to six hours following last use, peak within forty-eight hours, and subside within five to seven days. Although opiate withdrawal is not usually fatal, deaths in jail due to inadequately treated opiate withdrawal have been reported. (10) The risk of withdrawal complications is heightened by the presence of co-morbid conditions.
Avatar m tn See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. You are already on Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Avatar m tn Hi congrats on day 5 your off to a great start as for sleep it can be ruff for a wile it is all part of the withdrawal you just got to stick it out there is a good product on the market called alterill it is 3 good homeopathic medicine for sleep give that a try over the next few days it will be all but impossible to sleep with our without meds you just got to keep your eyes on the prize I am also a big perponet of N/A just because you stoped the pills does not equal recovery your still le
Avatar m tn But if you stick with it, it has nalaxone in it and that prevents other opiates from having an effect and will throw your body into rapid detox if you do take suboxone after a good run with dope( which is why a doctor will make you withdrawal for a good day or two before you can take it, which *****) so even if you try to shoot up or take pills, you might only try once or twice because there's no effect, and you realize you wasted 100$ bucks or whatever the amount.
Avatar f tn How long will it take for my "sleep clock" to reset? I have been reading posts on this site for all 9 days of my withdrawal from Codeine. One thing I haven't noticed a lot is referral to the use of other medications. I was receiving lots of medication for treatment of my migrances (which have improved drastically over the last month).
Avatar f tn he is not having opiate withdrawal if he is taking sub. Why the dexedrine and for how long? If you are thinking drug withdrawal you probably should look at the benzodiazepines and the amphetamine. From my experience sub was worthless as a pain medication. So he may really be in pain. Does he have an organic reason for pain?
Avatar f tn Be brave and call the hotline number in your area NA or AA or call both talk to someone and ask for help. Your husband may not be there for one. Many times the people close to us just can't or won't face the fact there loved is in trouble. You have taken a very brave step by writing on this site. One day at a time might need to be one hour at a time. You are not alone in this very real fight.
1436560 tn?1283889106 Hi! Go to the health pages and read the thomas recipe and amino acid protocol. They both have good info. Take hot baths with epsom salts. Drink lots of gatorade and apple juice. That will keep you hydrated and reduce leg cramps. Good luck!
Avatar f tn s hard as I have trigeminal neuralgia that can be hard to deal with. I am having surgery for this soon- I quit before for 4 years this time is much harder.
