Six pack abs without crunches

Common Questions and Answers about Six pack abs without crunches

six-pack

Avatar f tn Not that anyone knows how to best work the abs, though, as far as I can tell. For six pack abs, quite frankly, most who have them don't get them through exercise -- it's a sure sign of steroid use, since the belly should have some fat. You'll never see agricultural or hunter-gatherer cultures with flat stomachs. Other than this, the above post is right on.
Avatar f tn You get a flat stomach by dieting, any exercise will help build some muscle there but most people have a six pack underneath the fat already, and everyone has a "flat stomach underneath the fat.. This is why and on skinny guys don't count :P Also, a lot of people's pooch or whatever you call it has a lot to do with inflammation of the digestive track.
Avatar f tn For me, hard work hard physical labor such as yard work, lifting, perhaps building a wall with stone ... this was the type of work that got me a six pack, but at the same time I was losing weight for a health problem (Celiac) so my body fat got low.
Avatar n tn Just wondering how do u tighten your lower abs cause crunches do the upper but not so much the lower,
Avatar n tn For a six-pack to show, you must reduce body fat. The body fat percentage necessary to reveal a cut torso varies according to your genes and body type, but for most men, a percentage of 6 to 8 percent will reveal abs, while for women require a percentage of about 11 to 13 percent. To reduce body fat, reduce calories below what you burn daily, which can be determined by finding your basal metabolic rate. A 250- to 500- deficit daily will lead to a 1/2- to 1-pound weight loss in a week.
Avatar f tn Some exercises include leg raises, jacknifes, Swiss ball side crunches, side bends, Swiss ball crunches and hanging leg raises. The Swiss ball will use more ab muscles. Do each one of the exercises consecutively for 15 to 20 reps with no rest in between. Then take a 60-second break and do them all again. Repeat the whole circuit four to six times. Perform cardiovascular training three times a week every other day. Some examples are running, biking, stair stepping, swimming and rowing.
Avatar m tn m a recently turned 18 y/o male, skinny, and my question is, how can I get my stomach in the picture shown below to a six pack? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Avatar f tn s possible to build six-pack abs through cardio workouts alone if you engage the core muscles. Running, tennis, kickboxing and rowing all use the core to stabilize the upper body during the workout. The abs engage, and at the same time get stronger and more defined. Doing ab exercises is the best way to sculpt the six-pack.
Avatar m tn First you're only 16 so you're still growing. But understand this! The steps to get the low body fat levels necessary to show six-pack abs are very, very strict than those you'd have to do to drop a few pounds and reach a healthy weight and, may not even be possible, depending on your genetic makeup. A six-pack is when your body fat level is low enough to reveal the segments that divide your front sheath of muscle fibers on your torso.
Avatar f tn How many crunches would be a good normal amount to lose weight. Also my Diet is really good but what about other excercises? I do crunches I have a five pound weighted ball that I lay on my back and I throw it up and catch it about 250-400 times twice daily I was doing too many crunches (up to 2000 daily) I do leg excersises and lifts and what not but very little is showing on the scale.
579258 tn?1250649343 crunches, 30 twist crunches, 30 reversed crunches... need I go on? I have really strong abs... the problem is the skin over my abs (from being pregnant). I don't know if crunches will tighten that skin up or not. I never feel sore after an ab workout, even after doing all of that. Does that mean I need to tack on more? Please say no!!! LOL! I find workouts tedious and boring. Another GREAT ab workout that you can do ANYTIME and ANYWHERE is sucking in your belly button to your spine.
Avatar m tn Hi people, everyone has concerns about the well being of their child I too have some. Lately, he is getting mad to get the abs (six pack abs as they call it). I don’t think that this is something bad but the ways he is trying is a bit crazy. He believes all that is being told to him and I can’t figure out how he can get them without training the right way with the right exercises.
Avatar m tn well when i suck my stomach in i notice i feel bulges which are muscle which are my abs....lets say i keep doin the crunches for an amount of time....would the fat ontop of my abs stop them from being seeable? does this get rid of fat?? will this tighten my stomach until the point where im skinny again????
Avatar f tn For example do a giant set of crunches, reverse crunches and side jackknifes. This means you do one set of as many crunches as you can, then do as many reverse crunches and follow that with side jackknifes. Repeat the cycle or giant set three times. Cardiovascular Exercise Adding cardiovascular exercise before bed can help you to burn belly fat. Cardio works even better if you do it immediately after resistance or body weight training.
Avatar f tn Crunches will only exacerbate the problem and can rip your abs further. I think crunches are only supposed to be done if you don't have separated abs. ??? That's my take on it! I may be wrong and people are free to correct me if so.
Avatar n tn Youtube prenatal pilates, I'm just about 21weeks and i do the 10minute pilates but i do the one that's a full hour, has all of them in one video. It works your whole body and abs without doing harmful abb excersises. Its good to strengthen your abs and body and it also shows you stretches and breathing that help with my back pain!
Avatar f tn Oh, please, guys, you both know that not everyone or very many people will ever have six pack abs. Why would we want them anyway unless you watch too many TV commercials? You're both just selling something you want to be true because you both do it, but I'll bet a lot (if I had a lot) that Gymdandee for sure doesn't have six pack abs.
Avatar n tn When I did crunches I always put my fingertips behind my ears without any pressure. Your abs should be the only thing working your body during an ab routine. So definitely try again but maybe try a more recent workout. There's a GREAT ab workout routine at s park p eople (no spaces) and the trainer will talk to you about how to do them without straining your neck. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I do regular crunches, twist crunches, reverse crunches, and some other crazy things to tone my abs. BUT I also do cardio! Walk more than 30 minutes a day, jog, ride a bike, get an exercise video--- anything to get your heartrate up. If you don't have the means to do any of that, jumprope and jumping jacks, jog in place. There is so much you can do! And as StarryNight said- if you don't do the crunches correctly you won't see results. I believe situps are TOO harsh on your back.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, I have been trying these for months and months but it doesn’t help me anymore. I am talking about six pack abs that I am trying to get. I joined a gym for this and the trainer told me that I would get them…but NOOOO!! That did not help me and later on I have tried a few tips that I have been suggested by my friends but that also was of no use (the whole thing helped the abs a little…but not as I wanted).
Avatar n tn However, the length of time it takes to get-six pack abs depends upon your gender, how consistently you train and whether or not you have an excess amount of body fat. Strength train consistently and follow a hypertrophy, or muscle building, program. That's a high frequency of training sessions, with each session being of high volume. Rectus abdominus muscles like all muscles in your body require a rest from strength training, so allow 48 hours of recovery time between training sessions.

Avatar f tn Hi, i'm 13 years old and i do not know what to do. My friends say i'm not fat, but i feel like i am. I am 7 stone 13 pounds and i do gymnastics 18 hours a week. I am not sure whether to go on a diet or not. Also, i am trying to get a six pack, but i don't know how to do so. I do sit ups and leg crunches but should i go on a diet too??
Avatar f tn I got my six pack back after my first. After my 4th, it was harder. I was able to have definition but always had a bit of a pooch in the lower area. I'm sure it will be the same after babe 5.
7998970 tn?1435183202 I know crunches are a no no...I think that you can still do gentle modified planks though, especially when your early. I'm sure there's guidelines online.
Avatar f tn I have been doing crunches as part or my work out six days a week. My back can't lay flat so I do it on the bed. Am I making my back worse? It's really painful to do them on the floor. I have less back pain since I've started exercising regularly but when I skip a day my lower back hurts a lot(nerve problems).
Avatar n tn I get a severe head rush and near blackouts every time i attempt abdominal crunches. My heart compensates by beating very hard but it takes a frightenly long time to recover. Even just 1 or 2 crunches it happens. I also get it to a lesser degree from weight bearing exercises which use abs indirectly, but not from exercises that don't use the abs nor from cardio. I am going to admit I'm 70 lbs over weight but I'm able to easily do 30 mins of cardio...
