sinus infection remedies

16 weeks and now I have a sinus infection. My nose is draining so bad and my throat is dry and scratchy. What are some good remedies you ladies know of to help this pass along quicker?

Sitting here miserable with a sinus infection :/ took benedryl earlier and it onky helped for a little while i got a little bit of sleep but im probably not going sleep at all tonight :/ making a doctor appointment tomorrow but does anyone know of any home remedies or anything that could help?

A good examination inside the nose with a camera might give the ENT more information as well as a CT scan of the sinuses. If it is a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. If this fails to solve the problem, sinus surgery is usually recommended. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

For the past i would say four days ive had this sinus pressure and pain mostly on bridge of nose,around eyes and cheek bones and i put some light up my left nostril and noticed towards more the back in my nose along the side wall, is all red and swollen, but yet when i touch it doesnt feel like any mass or anything,weird i think!. anyways i am a big believer of natural cures and home remedies so i have taken some decongestion meds and have washed my nose out with a neti pot.

Does it really start pounding if you bend over? Have you tried any otc sinus remedies? I found that sudafed and a couple of tylenol does the trick.

Within hours I get sinus blocking then lots of green goobers from my throat the next day and if unlucky cold like symptoms for a day or three before it clears up, I jut take throat sweets and flu remedies. Weeks before and after I had terrible sinus issues (NEVER had a sinus infection before) Dentist discovered a tiny fistula, a hole to my sinus. Told me not to blow my nose for 3 weeks. I have had a sinus infection and bad cold for over a month now....it's the worst feeling ever. My Dr prescribed me amoxicillin for the infection but it didn't fully take care of the symptoms, it is safe to take though! Also on my list of safe meds are sudafed, Claritin and zyrtec. Antibiotic treatment is indicated for infection. As the sinus infection clears up, the sinus headaches should disappear. At this point, over-the-counter pain relievers, decongestants and saline nasal spray may help provide relief. Drinking plenty of waster also helps. Take care and do keep us posted.

When I get congested I use the vapor rub under my nose and sometimes on my chest and throat, but I'd say a humidifier would be a gud idea right now to clear you up faster, you have your lil one coming soon!

For that the diagnosis of sinusitis or sinus infection has to be confirmed. This can be done through transillumination (passing light through the sinuses) or Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses.Pls consult an ENT specialist and get these tests done. lol I have been suffering with sinus infections for most of my life...so I go through a lot of sinus rinses. lol I know I'm allergic to snow mould...but haven't found anything yet to relieve the symptoms. Home remedies I dont know but I do know u can take benadryl and sudafed.. Though sudafed you can only take for about 3 days. My sinus were bad in the beginning and the stuffiness really doesnt completely go away especially at night when going to bed well at least for me. BTW I am 32 weeks now!
