Avatar f tn I have been taking Atorvastin calcium 10 mg tablets(Brand Name is Storvas 10 mg) since 3 months for bringing LDL under control. Please advise if simvastatin 10 mg(brand name : Zosta -10) also has the same effect as Storvas 10 mg. I have had cholecystectomy about 5 years back.

Unfortunately, my husband did not quiz him further. He already has one stent in a narrow back artery but he has brought his cholesterol down considerably with the statins.

I don't know if this is a side effect of the drug I'm taking 40mg a day but feel really achy will this pass .

My Cholesterol level is apparently 7.9 but my doctor never told me if this is HDL, LDL or the total of both but even so, it is still too high!

Avatar f tn Well, it turn out I am now on Betta blocker 10g 3 times a day to get my heart rate down. Cholesterol ,thyroid and anxiety tablets I was told to take this for three months and then to leave it to see what happens. Well it just got worse after I left the tablets. Even the betta block sometimes does not help to get my heart rate down. Now they want to give me iodine radiation to kill off the thyroid on Wednesday.
Avatar m tn Usually diet and exercise is the best first place to start, but with an LDL this high I would probably recommend starting a cholesterol lowering medication as well, such as a statin (e.g. atorvastatin, simvastatin). All medications have potential side effects, but the statins are relatively well tolerated by most people and your doctor should be watching for any dangerous side effects (which are rare).
1962464 tn?1344606673 Seroquel, cyclobenziprine, Celebrex, Lamotrigine, Prozac, Diclofenic, Simvastatin, and Levothyroxin. My doctor does a complete blood work up every three months and doesn't seem concerned about the combination of meds that I am taking. I know some of these are also prescribed for fybromyalgia pain. If I hurt this much while taking all these medication I hate to think about how I would feel without them.
