907968 tn?1292625804 As I understand it, Crestor is a bit stronger than Simvastatn, or should I say, You can take a smaller dose of Crestor to equal Simvatstatin. Other than the equivalent dose change is there any other differences - side effects I should be looking for?
Avatar n tn I have been taking 10mg Lipitor (atorvastatin) for approximately 6 months. My HMO has decided that it will no longer cover Lipitor and has - with my doctor's approval but without communication with me - switched me to 20mg Zocor (simvastatin). I haven't had any side effects while on Lipitor and my cholesterol has come down nicely. What is the difference between Lipitor and Zocor? Are they really equivalent drugs?
612551 tn?1450025775 It seems I have the same opportunity to save money on my CCB by taking a normal release at half the dose twice a day. I'll discuss this with my cardiologist on my next 6 month regular check up, that assume I'll (hopefully) not have to seem him sooner.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol, Lisinopril, Plavix, Asprin, and Simvastatin. At night, if I'm feeling extra anxiety I take Lorazepam and I'm a lousy sleeper so I take 1/2 an Ambien. Talk about drug city, I'm on ten different meds! When I was experiencing my heart attack I thought, if I get through this, I'm going to count each new day as a blessing. I didn't anticipate that each day would be painful.
Avatar n tn He gave me muscle relexants and said to take ibuprofen. That has helped, but the pain flared again today. I also take Fosamax (or the generic equivalent) for bone density, and found the comments about calcium helpful. I often forget to take the right amount of calcium, and I do knw the doctor has warned me about it. He said the Fosamax will take the calcium from my bloodstream and make sure the bones get enough, but that other ares of the body will be lacking and there will be problems.
