Avatar m tn fish oil already does about the same thing as aspirin with no sides effects and with already proof of low hcc on humans, prevention of fatty liver and cardio vascular diseases...plus the low platlets count is an effect of activated immune response in the liver which makes liver damage and inflammation which in turn makes hcc......
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if you can do txt with already low platelets? (127) and INR of 1.13? Going to see my Gastro this week and I am sure he is going to propose getting on txt if I am able to with low platelets. From what I understand the txt cause platelets to drop.
Avatar n tn I have been on Simvastatin 20mg for 4 yrs; Metformin 500mg for 2 yrs, Ranitidine 150mg for 2yrs. And in the last 2 months I have had this itchy dry-like rash off and on. Looks like a type of psoriasis, but the doctors called it a dermatitis. I Have applied the steroid cream Triamicinalone Acetone and Aloe jells with lidocaine, but lately I notice it breaks out much more when I get overly hot and sweat.
Avatar m tn There was an in vitro study on ezetimibe inhibiting HBV DNA production. The ed50 was fairly low and in a similar range as lamuvidine. So it looked very interesting. But in an in vitro study you have a constant exposure to the drug, which is impossible to achieve in vivo. And the cells used are not the same as regular hepatocytes in human liver, with many differences in gene expression and cellular physiology.
Avatar f tn It seems that if your platelets were too low, your doctor would tell you on the phone and give you some instructions. Best wishes for a positive appt. on Wed. Keep us posted.
Avatar m tn eat good & healthy food not too spicy consult ur doctor incase of any medicine for ur hemoglobin.
Avatar n tn On a recent blood test my potassium level was above normal. I stopped taking simvastatin. After 3 months I took another blood test and now my cholesterol level has risen to 6.5. What shall I do. I am seeing my Doctor next week.
Avatar f tn Im gonna call and ask for a copy of my results.all i remeber is number 35 and he said it was to low...my others were ok.i just remember what all the names of the test were.
Avatar f tn I am not taking anything now but Atenenol for BP 25m (very low dose) and valium off and on to help sleep on shot night. And Omega 3 organic supplements. Staying clear of iron...but someone said Protein itself can rise levels...I don't eat red meat or meat period really...but started eating turkey protein to get some protein in me. Could this cause it?? Or do you believe it is all Tx induced. And what numbers should I start lowering my dosage...
Avatar f tn I'm 36 weeks and 3 days and have really low platelets (64,000 ) this only happens when I get pregnant.
Avatar f tn before treatment my platelets were about 100 and they dropped to about 52. the docs were not concerned. i copied the following from research plan i was involved with. i believe this is standard of care. Thrombocytopenia occurs in 3-6% of patients treated for chronic Hepatitis C virus infection.(97) If patients develop a platelet count of less than 50 cells/mm3 peginterferon alfa-2a will be reduced to 135 mcg/week, then 90 mcg/week, and then 45 mcg/week.
Avatar f tn I must congratulate you on talking to your doctor before treatment and having a plan in place should your platelets go too low!!! Sounds like you have very good medical care. Having an agreement between you and your doctor BEFORE tx sets expectations so you won't be in the position of some patients who’s doc either have them cut back on meds (reducing their chances of SVR) or have them stop treatment all together. Not a surprise you want ot find out about in the middle of therapy!
Avatar f tn He done his hcv RNA, 12 week s after treatment and it was good. Liver enzymes was same as now, slightly above normal and platelets low, but now lower- 58..and was 64. That is a reason we are worried..He is on vegan diet witch means he doesn't eat meat at all. Maybe he must eat some meat for rising platelet count? And he is very tiny, maybe he lost more weight since th. It is not easy to consult doctors in our country.. only if you have extra money..
2030686 tn?1351688548 For example, amoxicillin can lead to anemia (low red blood cells), thrombocytopenia (low platelets) and leukopenia (low white blood cells). Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen. White blood cells help fight infection and platelets help in wound healing. Anemia leads to fatigue and shortness of breath. Leukopenia makes you susceptible to infections and thrombocytopenia makes you prone to easy bruising and bleeding. http://www.livestrong.
Avatar f tn You definately need a good second opinion on this matter. Low platelets, can be found in quite a few illness,s and those need ruling out. Thrombocytopenia, ITP, APS, and also bone marrow conditions. etc etc. I had a low blood platelet count, but it was linked to my auto-immune disease of APS. This needs attention . If they arent clever enough to give you a reason why, then you need someone else. Dont give up searching.
Avatar n tn He is having a hard time getting his platelet count back up. He said they want it over 50 and his is around 37, and they are giving him platelets daily. Are they just being slow to rebuild on their own, or could it be something more? He's very frustrated...and still stunned. How do you go for what you thought was a UTI and end up in a cancer institute? He was supposed to start a new round of chemo this week, but not sure if they will do it if his platelets aren't coming up.
7510956 tn?1411671417 Today I received my lab work and it showed my platelets came down to 115. I wanted to know if they can be this low without Cirrhosis?.
Avatar f tn There is nothing you can do to increase your platelets naturally, however sometimes as your blood volume stabilizes it will increase on its own.
2025701 tn?1328919633 I am on week 38 and my platelets were at 22 last check. They have been in the 20s range for weeks now and I have not had to lower my meds. Hang in there!
Avatar n tn At the hospital, we had discovered that his blood tests had come in already and the results were that his platelets were really low...27. We chose to have my dog stay over night at the hospital to be monitored. One day later, his platelets dropped even more...12 and his red blood cell count was lower than before. We have also been informed that they were giving him more meds. I am so concerned as we haven't gotten any answers yet. How soon til the meds start working?
Avatar n tn The information you have provided are not enough to form any opinion from. If your platelet count is 80 and your prothrombin time is 14 this could be an indication of cirrhosis of the liver. Looking at two blood values is not enough to make an educated guess on anyone's health condition and doesn't explain why the doctor won't treat you. Others with similar levels have been treated. So there must be more to the story than you are presenting in your post.
Avatar f tn It is hard to take care of my children and work a full time job. I am always so drained and tired. I gained a lot of weight because I was on high doses of prednisone. Has anyone experienced anything like this and can give me a guess when this will taper off? I want to lose this extra weight but feel so drained after work.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering what the chances were of having Leukemia or lymphoma with 2 consecutive low platelet counts. For example, 3 months ago they were 135, and now 131. The rest of the blood work comes back in normal ranges. Thank you for any feedback.
Avatar f tn He said 9 weeks is really early to already have low platelets and they were lower than all the other times I got checked w my last one.
