Avatar n tn t gotten to the point yet where you notice them, the events in the body that can occur with a herpes infection, can sometimes set off all sorts of things. Medicine over the last several years has been putting more and more together about viral triggers of other illnesses.
Avatar m tn systemic candidiasis in the normal sense of that word. But if you are concerned, or show signs of candidiasis, please see your doctor.
1620115 tn?1386431409 Its possible that all what you have been experiencing is a systemic candida infection like you were diagnozed of. This is a fungal infection caused by Candida albicans. It is also known as Oral thrush or Moniliasis. This fungi is normally gotten by humans when using dirty bathrooms or toilets as the fungi grows were there is moisture and dust, so check 4 dat. Also from bad food and air.
630177 tn?1231545490 I have been experiencing extreme vaginal discomfort now for over three months with no discharge. I've used monistat a couple times with no result. I went to the doctor multiple times and this last time I told her to do a COMPLETE std scan on me. She tested for any and all STD's and all came back negative (thank God). Also, at that time I did have discharge so she tested it and said it looked like a yeast infection.
Avatar f tn Ob/GYN said I had a fungal infection and it had gone systemic. Prescribed course of Fluconazole tablets 150 mg, and the itch went away. I am imagining that his ongoing jock itch somehow spread through intercourse and gave me jock itch and introduced it into my vagina and beyond. Husband doesn't want to go see a doctor and insists his daily sprays "work." I'm symptom free and not wanting a reinfection. Are you sure it can't be spread person to person via intercourse?
Avatar f tn The fact that you have a kidney cyst strongly suggests that you might also have nephritis from a kidney infection. Because of your other signs/symptoms this could be a systemic infection. Sometimes these are difficult to pin down, and most physicians essentially give up trying to find a cause, if an immediate cause can't be found.
Avatar n tn You should go see a cornea specialist who could check your tear duct as well as the eye itself for signs of infection first. Taking the systemic fluconazole may get rid of the fungus in the eye as well as the ear (if it works). I wouldn't necessarily take antifungal drops without having a significant problem in the eye to make it worth it. So do get a good exam by an ophthalmologist to help you decide.
Avatar f tn skin, vaginal or systemic? Only systemic or fungal infection in blood can lower your blood pressure. Skin and vaginal yeast infection is cured by local application of antifungal creams (separate for skin and vagina) and systemic infection is cured by oral tablets. You may need to take the tablets for skin and vaginal infection too. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause hypotension or low blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms sound a lot like a sinus infection that became systemic, resulting in additional signs/symptoms. The course of Abx that you were on was likely not long enough or perhaps not even the correct Abx for your infection. Often these types of infections slowly become systemic if not treated properly. I can tell you that quite of few veterans had this initial symptom but since they were inadequately treated, the infection slowly spread.
Avatar n tn An antibiotic such as clavamox is a good empiric (in absence of specific diagnosis) treatment for skin infection of unknown origin. When diarrhea develops due to an antibiotic in the gut, an injectable antibiotic may offer the same result without the diarrhea, though at greater cost. Skin signs: 1. infected areas on both paws in the nailbeds 2. has been scratching his head; where he is almost half bald also losing hair o n his back legs and stomach and has black specks on his skin 3.
Avatar m tn Miliary or disseminated tuberculosis is a form of tuberculous infection in the lung that is the result of erosion of the infection into a pulmonary vein. Once the bacteria reach the systemic circulation, the liver and spleen may be affected. Transmission can only occur from people with active TB. Direct contact with a person who has it, living in unsanitary conditions, and having an unhealthy diet may be risk factors as well.
Avatar f tn You should ask your GP about the possibility of a systemic fungal/yeast infection, and ask them who to see. You may be able to take care of most of it with a single course of oral antifungals. Unfortunately, the only thing that actually works for toe fungus is the oral antifungals. There is a slight risk of liver damage, but the doctor should take baseline labs before starting so you'll know if anything's going wrong, and the course is 3 months.
Avatar n tn Candida is hard to treat if it becomes systemic, and it becomes systemic usually because of overuse of antibiotics and steroidal medicines. The little fungi are attracted to sugar and dairy and a weakened immune system. It's easier to spot in women, for obvious reasons. Let's assume it hasn't really become systemic -- if it had you would be suffering fatigue and other things, and doctors can detect that.
Avatar f tn Courtesy of Aaron Massey Myles Massey of Kenmore, Wash., developed a systemic Bacillus cereus infection that damaged portions of his brain after his birth in 2007, doctors said. Myles’ twin brother, Henry, is an active, talkative preschooler. No source of the bacteria was ever found, despite repeated tests by hospital staff and local and state health officials, and advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Avatar m tn t believe I have candida, I think it is more along the lines of some type of tinea. It is in my prostate and has spread throughout my body. I have tried multiple antibiotics and have been on the candida diet for years, it all helps a little but nothing gets rid of it and it keeps spreading out. The symptoms are numerous and very severe. It is causing me to have mental and physical problems and destroying my life. I have had this for 5 years and no doctors have been able to help me.
Avatar f tn To date blood tests have not identified any underlaying causes of the infection. This may not be enough information, but I wondered whether anyone has come across anything like this before? Could she have an immune system deficiency and if so what ?If so please contact me.
Avatar m tn I read your post to Terri which had a few more details. will contracting herpes simplex at birth cause ongoing developmental effects? no it will not. any developmental issues from the herpes infection at birth would present themselves by the time of school just like it would for a child born prematurely. any signs of delay because of the infection would show by then.
Avatar n tn A yeast infection is an overabundance of bacteria growth. I am not sure exactly why or how some people get it but it is not an STD and children can have it as well. For me it is like anything that goes near my vagina sets off a yeast infection. Have you seen your doctor about this? Have you had one before?
Avatar f tn t believe people can have a low level systemic Candidas infection and present with symptoms. Natural medicine disagrees. Natural medicine approaches the issue by getting to the source of the problem. My friends husband had systemic Candidas and their naturopath had him on a restrictive diet to starve the yeast. He hated it, but the diet worked. There are herbs that can be used, too, but they really won't be effective without the right diet involved.
Avatar m tn Any ideas on the next stage I should go to as being a specialist in skins and nails my body is clearly showing signs of a systemic infection which is suggested by beaus lines on my fingernails...
Avatar f tn I have never heard of strep b causing any outword signs. Its more of a bacteria kind of thing. I have strep b and have had it for years and never once had that happen. I would contract your doctor.
3158442 tn?1344311653 My sons did the same thing, and I freaked out, as long as it's showing no signs of an infection, or bleeding heavily, it's normal!
