Avatar n tn If you temperature keeps fluctuating, going up and down, you may have an infection which may be a bacterial or a viral one. It is still worth making an appointment to see your doctor to check you out. If the doctor feels it is a bacterial infection, you will get prescribed with an antibiotic. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
242516 tn?1368223905 The flu has passed epidemic rates in much of the country, and if you don't have a cold, I'm sure you have a friend who has the sniffles, fever, chills, aches and pains of a viral upper respiratory infection. This is different from a bacterial infection such as sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A viral infection doesn't improve with antibiotics as these infections do. A virus hijacks your own body's healthy cells and uses it to reproduce and spread.
Avatar n tn He has lost 12 pounds, has been in and out of the hospital and each time is diagnosed with a viral infection. I was curious what your thoughts are in regards to the symptoms he has been experiencing. It all started after a work out at the gym. He was driving home and felt as if he was going to pass out. The drive home took 45 minutes when it should have only took 20. He said he kept getting lost.
Avatar m tn I'm sick for 8 MONTHS. 26 years old male. My ESR is 45. I'm HIV negative. Pain in lymph nodes (neck, ear, jaw, armpit, chest). My head feels like I have very bad case of flu. Black under my eyes. I was diagnosed with "viral infection". I was given many antibiotics and last time I was given broad spectrum antibiotics. Crixan 500mg, Levofloxacin 500mg. Since then pain in lymph nodes little bit decreased. My head feels still the same, almost like drunk.
Avatar m tn For roughly the last 2 months I been told by a Dr that I was fighting a viral infection all the flu symptoms went away besides my 2 mouth ulcers and diarrhea. at first the Dr said don't worry about it but how can i not if its been 2 months and still their... I'm worried that it can be something major but who knows... I just pray to god to take my pain away since its hard for me to deal with this. please if anyone can help let me know thank you!
Avatar f tn It is usually caused by an infection either bacterial or viral. But lymph nodes may stay swollen after the infection is gone for a few months. Do you know what he was treating you for?
Avatar m tn Is it a classic case for one sided arm clumsiness (feeling of swelling in shoulder etc) to develop 5 days after the start of a viral infection which caused swolen lymph nodes, fever, sinus infection, congested chest, and body pains? Does this likely indicate a nerve infection? The right arm is also the side of my C-spine which has moderate spondylosis around C-5 but has never affected my arm before (only mild-moderate neck pain). Does this sound the most likely answer to my condition?
Avatar n tn I have pain in the back of my throat only on one side and it feels as if the very back of my tongue on that side could also be feeling some pain. It is not a burning sensation like a normal sore throat but more of life an ache that is amplified every time I swallow. This just started about 5 days and wasn't too bad until today when it became much worse. What could this be and what can I do for the pain?
Avatar f tn In few cases, pan-sinusitis may appear as generalized body weakness, post nasal drip, facial pain since bacterial/viral infection takes some time to resolve completely. In addition, if your sinusitis is due to viral infection, then your leg weakness can be due to post-viral fatigue syndrome and needs some time to resolve completely. In addition, vitamin/nutritional (especially B-complex) may lead to a neuropathy/weakness symptoms.
Avatar m tn A couple of days ago, I started feeling pain in my neck, this is on the right side, right where I can feel myself swallow. Basically, it's a little bit inward where you'd feel your heartbeat, except probably the wrong side. I forget exactly. The pain hurts, but it's not completely unbearable. Is this related to my cold and what can I do for it? Could it be some sort of ear infection? Seems too low for that.
Avatar n tn I have two lumps between my ribs and hip on the right side. They seem to be well below the skin. What could they be? Is cancer the only condition that could cause lumps there? One is the size of a plumb the other smaller.
Avatar m tn After 60 days, severe stabbing pain on my right eye, nose pain, lower jaw pain and severe headache lasted for 1 week. Following this,2 white spots on my tonsil and white patches on the back of throat for 9 MONTHS NOW, there's no discomfort/pain . Impact on family: ============= 1 month after exposure, accidentally i burst laughing on his face. One day i was checking the lesion in my mouth and turned on the light, immediately my child turned it off and placed fingers in mouth.
Avatar n tn I have seen many doctors who have concluded that it may be the beginnings of an autoimmune disease or a post-viral infection. I am looking to get some more information on either if these diagnoses or on other possible reasons for the illness, parastic? Thank you!
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have pleuritic pain, which is usually caused by inflammation around the lungs -- could be related to fluid buildup (pleural effusion), a systemic disease (lupus), blood clot (pulmonary embolus), or just a run-of-the-mill viral infection. If it persists, it is probably worthwhile to see a doctor to be checked out.
Avatar f tn My vagina has sharp pins and needle pain, I have lower stomach pain, every so often my ovary feels like its throb. Ive had a lot of tests done but doctors claims the I.u.d is gone. If its gone? Why do I still ache? If this is withdrawal? How long til it goes away? My heart has been beating quite fast. Doctors refuses to fun more tests. What can I do? Feel like I'm going crazy.
Avatar n tn Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician. Sucking hard candies and ginger lemon tea and inhaling steam would also help I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hello. I have an unidentified viral infection, and I'm hoping that someone here can shed some light on my situation for me. It all started after receiving oral sex from a female. The reason that I don't post this in the STD forum is because I've already been tested for all STD's multiple times, and I will explain more below. I will post all of my symptoms that I've had for the past 16 weeks, week by week. Btw, I am a 28 year old male.
Avatar m tn The doctor said that swollen gums may be caused my any viral infection as the body fights off the infection. It sounds like I have no reason to be concerned?

Avatar m tn Literally the day after going to the doctor I got an acute viral gastrointestinal infection that lasted about three days. I was fine and then suddenly one night I started vomiting uncontrollably, had severe diarrhea. My fever went up to 102. I had so much diarrhea (about 25 bouts over the course of 3 days) that I got severely dehydrated and had to go the ER. They gave me 3 pints of IV fluid to rehydrate me. They never figured out what it was.
Avatar m tn Recently I have been having pain in my right side, in the area of the rib cage over the liver. I am Genotype 1a and had TX (pegalyated interferon and ribavirin) ten years ago but relapsed after a viral breakthrough at 6 months. A needle biopsy nearly three years ago showed Stage 1 fibrosis and Grade 2 inflammation which is about the same as a needle biopsy I had over ten years ago. A FibroSURE test of about a year ago showed F0 or "no fibrosis" and A0 or "no activity".
