In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.

Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.

A few days later I switched to Zantac (Ranitidine) and within 3 days noticed that I would wake up in the middle of the night with severe join pain in my elbows, wrists, ankles & knees, I developed seasonal allergy symptoms, tingling sensation in both hands and feet and back pain. I read on a few websites that the joing pain and tingling sensation could be a symptom of low B12. Anyone else have these experiences? It ***** getting old.

Of those people, 3 reported missed beats. That would be a normal report from the gen populations. PVC causes can be so individual that maybe it is, but it is not a normal side effect. However, I have spoken with many, many people who get PVC's from acid reflux if that is what you are taking it for.

Have ordered Rupatadine/Rupafin from Canada. Trying to find info about possible side effects, esp hair loss (yes I am vain). Could only find a couple studies on the internet. Any help is appreciated.

My doctor told me to take a tblsp. of apple cider vinegar in eight ounces of water and sip it throughout the day. I first refused but then got desperate. ve ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. In summary, I would not worry for the interaction with Plavix, since probably you no longer need it, I would be very worry for taking them without a clear diagnostic or reason. If you have got a gastroscopy and they did not see the reason of your pain, chances are that you will get nothing from PPIs. If you have not got the gastroscopy, I would get it before going on PPIs for life.

Sometimes docs are good at catching things - however, if you were to take your list to your local pharmacist, he/she could double check it with you (I know my psych doc as a computer program he runs the meds through to make sure they don't conflict). Upset stomach (as mentioned) can be just a side effect of the medication (Celexa made me feel out of it, so I opted out).

Nurse had a chart that categorized medicine risk level in pregnancy, category A having no risk at all, ranitidine falls in category B as showing no harm in animal reproduction but no human studies being available. Domperidone is taken 3 times daily before meak 30 mins.but Nexium brought lots of side effects for me.so the specialist switched it with Protonix20 same administer.after several days i have had it for 40mg.twice a day.i raised my bedhead 3"; now to 4".i still suffer from acidity erosion up to my mouth.i feel i have no life.

Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.

After a while it started to lose its effectiveness, and got to the point where its side effects outweighed its benefits and so I was switched to ambien. I did great with ambien, but my insurance limits it...so for the time I was allowed, I split the dose and even slept well with 5mg....now that's no longer an option because of my insurance, so my doctor put me on temazepam 30mg, but it simply doesn't do anything for me.
