monopril

Avatar f tn I called my doctor and the nurse said i had the symptoms of axiety but also said to stop taking the Lisinopril. I have not taken that pill in 24 hrs. My question is could the Lisinopril have caused the palpitations and could it take some time to go away or should i look into axiety. It just seems odd that none of this was going on untill i took that Lisinopril.
Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
Avatar m tn I would like to know if these are side effects of the meds or if it is possible i have some disease that affects my joints/disks as well as raises my BP?
Avatar f tn Your doctor may be increasing based on the blood pressure response and consideration to side effects of lisinopril, the dosage may be increased or decreased. For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg. For each change in your lisinopril dosage, it may take several weeks to see the full effects on blood pressure. Hope this helps and your blood pressure is properly controlled without side effects. Thanks for the question.
1210142 tn?1266077031 The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear. I don't know if Losartan can cause this or just switching drugs my body needs more time...? The above mentioned side effects are very bothersome and I don't know if they are from Losartan or...just need time? From your expirience: looking for BP medications with good proven record and less side effects?
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
Avatar f tn Look the drug up that she is taking on the web to see if cough is listed as a common side effect. Before you do this though, don't get overly concerned with all of the side effects you see related to a drug when you do search. All possible side effects observed when trials are done on drugs are listed even if they are not caused by the drug. Some blood pressure drugs do cause cough though in many people. The drug with the most likely side effect of cough as I understand it is lisinopril.
Avatar n tn Difference between Enalapril and Lisinopril in clinical applications? How often is each drug administrated and which one is more effective?
Avatar f tn First doses of lisinopril can cause dizziness due to a drop in blood pressure. Lisinopril can cause nausea, headaches, anxiety, insomnia, drowsiness, nasal congestion and sexual dysfunction. Lisinopril should be stopped if there are symptoms or signs of an allergic reaction including feelings of swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and hives occasionally occur.
Avatar f tn One known side effect of lisinopril is a dry nagging cough, however, I'm not sure about the itchy throat. You may want to call your pharmacist and ask them - they're typically very knowledgeable about all side effects of meds.
Avatar m tn I am taking Lisinopril, but only 10mg. I check my blood pressure occasionally and it has gone down to sometimes 95/50. Is she or are you doing that?
Avatar n tn Both lisinopril and Coreg are pretty strong drugs. You are taking very doses, but they certainly can be the cause of a lot of side effects. The good news is your body generally can adapt, and the drugs can remodel the heart... at least they did for me. I eventually was taking 10mg of lisinopril and 50 mg of Coreg. Headaches are definitely associated with drugs like Isosorbide (Imdur), angina meds like Ranexa and of course Nitro pills, especially if combined with alcohol.
Avatar n tn ACE inhibitor medicines have as one of their adverse side effects, the ability to cause cough in an individual who has not previously had a cough; a cough that persists as long as the medicine is taken. You should share this occurrence with your doctor and he/she will probably want to prescribe another blood pressure medicine, not in the ACE inhibitor class. It may take 3 to 4 weeks for the cough to subside, following discontinuation of the medicine.
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar f tn Fatigue and lethargy are side effects of atenolol, however, I do not see any information suggesting that muscle weakness is a side effect of atenolol. I see that you also take Vytorin. It appears that symptoms of ALS,( Lou Gehrig's Disease) have been reported to the FDA in a higher than expected number of patients taking statins. ALS is a progressive motor neuron disorder with symptoms such as difficulty walking or standing, difficulty with fine motor skills and muscle paralysis.
961503 tn?1247059639 My doctor wanted me to not start them both at the same time so that I can see, if any, side effects Sim will have - and once I start the Lisinopril, I can see what different, if any, side effects both pills could have. So far, with the Sim I have felt a little heat rushes - perhaps 3 times, but nothing else. My question is: can I exercise while on these pills? Before the pills, I biked weekly about 3 miles - nothing serious, just riding around my town.
1210142 tn?1266077031 As for the losartan and carvedilol, dizziness and fatigue are two common side effects of the medications. These side effects are often related to either low blood pressures or low heart rate but can often be relieved through adjustments in the dose and timing of the medications. I would check and keep note of your blood pressure and heart rate frequently (and not if you are having any of the symptoms) using a home blood pressure monitoring kit that you can get at your local pharmacy.
Avatar m tn It is only noticeable on the left side, the right side is normal. I do not have any pain at all in that area. I have not talked to a doctor about this issue yet. What in the world would be causing this situation?
Avatar m tn Soon after that I stopped the lisinopril on my own. I had tons of side effects from it. It was also lowering my heart rate into the 30s and 40s and dropping my BP to nearly nothing. My cardio told me that was ok but stay on the Coreg because it actually rebuilds the heart. I was also very active and they told me that doing arobic exercise was the cause of many young seemingly healthy adults cardiomyopathy because the wall thicken due to something called LVH in short hypertrophy.

225237 tn?1333138999 One of the side effects of Benadryl is increased blood pressure so anyone with hypertension should discuss taking this product with their doctor first to be safe.
Avatar n tn t know much about heart disease or high blood pressure but let me tell you a couple things I know about this medication. Lisinopril is used to control high blood pressure and water retention. Too strong of a dosage can cause diarrhea which can cause potassium to drop low. Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
