Avatar m tn Facial rashes, night sweats and the closing of my throat. That is when I stopped using Bactrim. All other side effects are gone except for the closing of my throat that comes on and off, especially when I'm done eating. It's been going on for 2 weeks (since my last bactrim dose). It doesn't make my breathing or eating any difficult but is just very annoying. It stopped for 2 days and happened one late night, 2-3 hours after drinking alcohol.
334876 tn?1229979296 Does your horse have any other symptoms? Nasal discharge? Temperature? High heart rate? Is any other horse at your barn sick or with the same symptoms? Or, has your horse been anywhere or exposed to other horses recently? Since the lumps are on both sides, it would rule out an insect bite or bee sting, so my incination is to say the the lymph nodes/guttural pouches are inflammed. This would indicate some sort of systemic infection.

Avatar n tn Initially he thought it was a result of the antibiotics however with the negative lab results he no longer believes this is the problem and wants me to get a colonoscopy. I have a hard time believing there isn't a relationship between the two even in the absence of positive lab results. I have no other symptoms like blood, fever, etc. I am improving but very slowly and it has been about 2 weeks now since the onset. Is it possible to get a false negative on the stool tests?
Avatar n tn ve been waking myself up in the middle of the night with a Charlie horse in my leg. Then I usually fix it but then a bit later it'll be my other leg. I know it's not a dietary thing because I take my prenatals everyday and usually drink an organic juice cleanse that has 100% of daily fruits and vegetables in it. Has any one else experienced this while pregnant and know why?
Avatar f tn I believe this is one of several questions you've posted on the same subject of post tx side effects. You've had many honest reponses, most if not all positive. I'm beginning to wonder if you're looking for a reason NOT to start treatment. With your significant scarring, this alone is a good reason to begin treatment - and many here can share the downfall and significant sx of progressing to cirrhosis.
Avatar n tn i recently got put on antibiotics (azithromycin) for a throat infection, but these pains are not a side effect. i have experienced the side effects of my antibiotics; i had diarrhea and slight stomach pains, but that was it. i'm 16; female. i know i'm very young but i'm still scared if this is something serious. thanks so much!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
1174869 tn?1441311668 s like your body is needing to adjust to the chemical changes and once it does, the side-effects (most of them) will most likely go away. If they last and continue more than a month or 2, the medicine maybe needs to be modified or maybe should be switched to something different. Sometimes it takes a few meds, until you find the right one for you. Just try to hang in there a little longer, each day will get better.
Avatar n tn ____________ These muscle cramps can have many possible causes including hormonal imbalances, dehydration, low levels of potassium or calcium in the blood, side effects of medication, or, more seriously, diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and neuropathy. ____________ It also mentions that they are often seen during pregnancy. I sure had them then.
Avatar m tn However recently I have noticed that the color of my blood (taken to test blood sugar) is a distinct chocolate-brown color similar to whenever I have had to use Nitro tabs/patches for angina attacks. I have also been affected by regular bouts of diarrhea. Are these side effects to be concerned about given the somewhat more beneficial effects and if so what could I do about them? Appreciate your comments and those of anyone else affected.

Avatar n tn These muscle cramps can have many possible causes including hormonal imbalances, dehydration, low levels of potassium or calcium in the blood, side effects of medication, or, more seriously, diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and neuropathy.[6] They are also a common complaint during pregnancy or for the elderly.[7] most of the time it is from extreme workouts. more common reasons would be dehydration and low potassium or calcium. eat a banana, drink some milk and see if that helps.
Avatar n tn Only one tonsil was slightly swollen and red over a week, a couple of bits of puss, no pain and no fever - the doctor has not performed a swab test. I have read that the side-effects of this drug are commonly nausea and vomiting and as someone who has a morbid fear of vomiting, I am really reluctant to take it. Is it worth hanging on for another few days and seeing if it clears naturally?

Avatar f tn Every infection is caused by a specific strain of bacteria. Some antibiotics are going to work better on different strains of bacteria. Bactrim IS used for UTI's and if it has worked before, why would your doctor not prescribe it? But again, if you are pregnant, it is pregnancy category C. Okay, wait, I see you are 52.
