Avatar m tn Now, my question is, Is it ok to become dependent on Nexium? Like everyday, I must take 1 capsule? Nexium healed me, but i have to take everyday, I don't know when to stop. Is there any side effects if everyday im taking it? I'd rather to become dependent than experiencing GERD for the rest of my life. Thanks.
Avatar f tn i forgot to mention i feeling burning in my throat alot after i eat
Avatar m tn Since then I have added fluticasone to my medications, along with the nexium I had been taking for a few months, and gabapentin for my stomach pain. In the past few weeks I have also cut out the top 6 food allergens. Despite this, I am not seeing any improvement in my condition. I am also losing weight pretty rapidly since I am not eating much solid foods. My doctors are not that helpful at the moment, telling me I have to wait until my next endoscopy for them to move forward.
Avatar n tn Well if any of you are taking nexium that may be why I have been taking nexium for 3 weeks now it seems like everytime i did i would feel dizzy nauseous and got diarrea so i stop taking it and im feeling less dizzy still nauseaus but is only been the second day im off the nexium and i believe that all dose symptoms are all side effects of nexium
439522 tn?1214951189 hi, basically when you stop taking nexium, it takes a few days to build up enough acid in the stomach to make you really feel it, and ofcourse when you get back on it, it takes just as long to neutralise it and block it, so be patient, i should know ive been on nexium for seven years and every now and then i give it a break for about a week, and what happened to you happens to me every time, cheers.
Avatar m tn I've had GERD for a few years and I take 40mg of Nexium (Esomeprazole) every day. I'd like to try magic (Psilocybin) mushrooms. It it possible that they would aggravate my reflux or interact negatively with the Nexium? I want to see brand new colors and feel like I'm one with the universe but I also want to be kind to my esophagus. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I know I have to eat something so I decided that maybe I should consider eating baby food to cut down on my stomach and intestines having to do so much work. Is this a good Idea?
Avatar m tn First, I've been to the doctor and they prescribed Nexium, because of my stomach acidity. I used to wake up in the middle of the night choking because of the acid reflux was so bad. I raised my pillows and have alleviated this issue. That being said, after a regular meal, my stomach is extremely full (today it was just soup and two Grands biscuits) and it feels like I have to throw up. Sometimes I'll start coughing because of this and actually throw up.
Avatar n tn I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime. The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax last november.
Avatar n tn Weight can have a lot to do with these problems.. thats why I ask .I still cannot go more than a day without Nexium ...and still have the hernia. Nexium has changed everything for me and i highly reccomend it though others might disagree.Talk to your doctor it may work for you.Or change doctors for a second opinion.
Avatar n tn while I was on 6-80mg Nexium a day, I had weird and chronic gastro-viruses and I believe Nexium kills all the acid in your stomach and then you are more prone to stomach viruses.
Avatar m tn I started my first does of Harvoni last Friday and I don't take it with food. I want to know should I eat a small meal with my does or not and also should I take my other med such as nexinum with it?
Avatar m tn ve been on it a while, but I noticed 2 weeks ago my symptoms were much worse when I took a double dose. I got in an argument with my wife while on 80mg Nexium and I swear I could feel the adrenaline rush come from me feet up through my head like someone threw a switch. I have never had Anxiety before this. Your thoughts? Anxiety? GI? Chiropractor? Or all three?
203342 tn?1328737207 I know I have Acid Reflux. I just had an endoscopy done on Thursday morning (with a Bravo capsule) and haven't gotten the results back yet. I did have to get off the Nexium a week prior to the test but felt alright. Since the test I've had horrible heartburn like I've never had before. I also can't eat or drink anything without difficulty. I've never had that problem before.
Avatar n tn Hello. I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, and lived with almost daily pain (no meds were really working) until about 2 months ago, when I started Nexium. I was blissfully almost with any symptoms for about 6 weeks, even if I ate common reflux triggers, but now I'm experiencing pain again. Can Nexium just stop working like that? I should add that my diagnosis came after basic blood tests, an endoscopy, an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and a CT scan of my abdomen.
Avatar f tn I currerntly take Nexium twice a day. I tried Reglan to see if it was a problem with retained food causing the problem, but that didn;t help. Not sure what else to try but it is a very humiliating problem, especially since I don't realize when it is really bad. Please send me suggestions or ideas on what it might be. I have had an EGD and it was normal.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Nexium for 4 years now. My acid reflux is getting increasing worse. I went to the doctor and he recommended surgery (fundiplication) or take 1 nexium in am and i nexium in pm. Also, asthma is tied to GERD. I had a asthma test and I did have a mild case of asthma. I now take 2 nexium a day and 1/day Advair diskus. I now have no GERD. I am 5'5" and weigh 162lbs.
Avatar m tn my blood preasure is also normal. i know with all of the test being normal i should be free from heart trouble i just want peace of mind. if this really is gerd and i continue taking nexium is this safe? i have read that you should only take it for a few weeks. the doc says its ok to take for ever if needed. also since the nexium i have had horible sores in my mouth. is this normal?
Avatar m tn m sure he kept it simple for me. He told me to take the Nexium when ever I had to take NASIDS. He said that Nexium started working very quickly and that it helped with the problems that NASID caused. NASIDS can cause bleeding, pits or holes in the stomach with long term use, and that the Nexium reduces acid and heals the pits or holes in the stomach lining. He also said that eating food before taking the NASID helped with long term problems.
Avatar f tn was just wondering if this was normal/common with what i have been diagnosed with. i have been on the nexium a while and had no prior incidents or side effects with it. but i was off of it the week before my endoscopy, and restarted it about 10 days ago. also, took a second pill later on in the day. is it safe to take it twice, and should i continue to take it twice without talking to my doctor first?
Avatar m tn so im trying to get off nexium so i bought some dgl the exact one i got is dgl ultra by enzymatic therapy german chocolate flavored each tablet is 400mg i wanted to know what other peoples dosage habits are like with dgl whats the max you should take..what dosage do you take that seems to help anything else i should know?
Avatar m tn t run any tests, they did take a blood sample to check for bacteria but it came back negative. Are there any test I should recommend to have done?
Avatar f tn t taken Nexium and the last week started taking Metamucil. I am now worse than when I was taking Nexium. I am extremely tired and don't know what else to do. I have maybe 1 night each week where I sleep until 6am, but that is nowhere near my normal of 8 or 9am. I have been under a lot of stress at work since March and I know that can flare up symptoms of bowel disease, but at this point I think I need to see a Gastroenterologist due to my PCP not really taking this seriously.
