hysterectomy

589148 tn?1218752415 Hello, my name is heather. I am wondering when and if I should press my doctor for hysterectomy? I had always had very painful periods from the time I started getting my period at age 12. When I was 20 I had my daughter and at 21 I had my son. Soon after that I my periods started getting even worse than before. After going to see my ob/gyn for a few months I had a laperoscopy, hysteroscopy, and D/C. I found out then that I had Endometriosis.
Avatar f tn no....dont do it. I had endo for years. I went a straight year bleeding every single day. I was miserable! I would pass out from the pain on some days. But I would take it back...all of it back....to have my uterus back and be able to become pregnant. I am broken now. That is the biggest mistake and regret of my life. Now that I am married to a younger man who wants children...I am heart broken every time I go to walmart and see someone pregnant or carrying a baby.
Avatar n tn The doctor said I could still have endo. even if I had a hysterectomy. How? if having a period is the cause?
Avatar f tn Some people have had some success in controlling pain with physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction. If you have endometriosis, there are treatments, but I think a hysterectomy is usually what ends up helping the most, but that's not even always a total cure.
Avatar m tn I have fibroids in my uterus, I just had a biopsy on my cervix 2 weeks ago due to abnormal cells (it was OK) and I have a complex cyst on my ovary. I have had a crampy pain on that side for 4 months. I am prone to ovarian cysts as they come and go for me though not always complex like the one I currently have. 2 years ago I had 1 ovary removed because it got twisted and looked like a mass but when they got in there it was just twisted.
Avatar n tn Plus there are a few ways to treat fibroids besides hysterectomy. At age 49 you're just around the corner from menopause. I have a fibroid but it's not a problem. Now that I'm menopausal it just sits there. I would ask for another opinion as well.
Avatar n tn m not bleeding now - my period ended abruptly 6 years ago - I had very light bleeding 2 years ago for a day or two. i had laparascopy for endometriosis 13 years ago. Wondering whether I should go for hysterectomy instead of doing one after another scans/sonograms. My next test which is sonohysterogram w transvaginal, is scheduled this Friday. Thanks a lot for your advice.
2042830 tn?1333865567 s about getting ablation of my uterus, because they ended up having more pain and bleed outside of the uterus..They end up getting a full hysterectomy... I really cant afford to go the long route and end up with having hysterectomy... What do you think if it comes back good results and I hope they do... should I get the Ablation of my uterus???
Avatar f tn I think I may have endometriosis, but I don't know. I am 22. My mother and my sister both don't have it, so I wouldn't think that I would, and I have a 4 year old. Anyway, it's been over a year now that I have been having problems. My period always hurts but I'm sure everyones does. The pain is not unbearable. I started to have pain during and after sex, and it seems as if I have an orgasm, I hurt after that too.
2042830 tn?1333865567 I have regular bowl moments that are normal color... and I have had a high temputure of 99.2 to 101.1 on a daily basses for the passed month and last year when I has endo.....for 6 months. So they took a CT scan and blood work urine and came back with I have a lot of protein and some sign of Bactria in my urine.... So the Dr. said its a mystery what is going on with me. Dr have me Cipro to take for infection and to follow up with my FP....
Avatar n tn He could not guarantee removing just the cyst and right ovary would alleviate my pain. I was scheduled for a hysterectomy, but the surgery was cancelled due to insurance problems. In the mean time I just started another cycle. I have had severe, sharp, stabbing, right sided pain again that radiates to my right lower back and thigh. I get very shaky and feel nauseous.
Avatar n tn thanks for the comment. Yes I did have a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound done in June, mainly because I really felt that I had another ovarian cyst because of my symptoms. Believe it or not, it did not show anything out of the ordinary, other than a small 1/2 centimeter fibroid, and and thickening in my uterus. I figure that is way to small to cause problems, especially the amount of bloating, and discomfort I am having.
Avatar f tn I had a total hysterectomy in 1997 which took care of my symptoms. The last couple of weeks I have had symptoms that feel like my endometriosis has returned. Is this possible?
Avatar n tn I have endometriosis, and I am allergic to latex. I have a long history of breast cancer in my family. I cannot have children, I have adverse reactions to hormone therapy and birth controll. I have an IUD right now but am in severe pain. Non latex condoms do not offer enough protection. I am 28 and thinking about having a hysterectomy, but am unsure if that will increase my risk for breast cancer, and other hormone issues, any feedback or help would be great!
Avatar f tn if anyone has any questions about endomitriosis please feel free to contact me I am NOT a professional I have just lived with the disease for many years and have done a lot of research on it and I also suffer from what I believed to be consequences of my surgery.
Avatar f tn there are many know side effects..I had a complete hyster..I have low sex drive ( im divorced so dont care right now) but do know I have helped thousands and there is not one side effect that cannot be helped Please read on the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy method . if dr wont do that ask for a laproscopic hysterectomy..its sooooo much better than pelvic cut.
Avatar f tn If not, then they cannot say for sure if you have endometriosis. And hysterectomy with or without ovary removal is not a cure for endometriosis (endo) since endo implants / lesions exist throughout the pelvis. I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago at age 49 and it has turned my life upside down. I aged 10-15 years in just 4 months. However, I did not live with chronic pain.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago due to a severe case of endometriosis. I had a lot of back pain & I thought after I had a hysterectomy that pain would go away.....it hasn't yet. I was wondering if cymbalta would be good for my back pain? My lower back hurts a lot & I didn't know if they would complicate things. I just want some answers...maybe you can help.
Avatar f tn I am waiting for the results of my CA-125 blood test. Do I need to be worried? Are my chances high for ovarian cancer? Should I get a second opinion? I have been reading up on this and am so confused. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone my name is Carrie. I'm new to this and I hope to get some answers and help. I'm 30 years old and had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, I still have both ovaries. For almost 3 months I've been urinating blood, sometimes pure red blood and other times just clots. It is so painfull. I don't have any burning just stabbing cramps, located in the pelvic area and on both the left and right sides. I had back surgery last year so of course that bother me.
