Very emotional. Do you normally share your poems with others? I have a family friend who has her works published in book by just sending them in at various magazines. She writes sad poetry about different people, she's come in contact with. Some are homeless, some are about the elderly being abused, some are domestic abuse, some orphans, some low-income homes.. etc.. but they all make you wake up to what's happening.. But very nice. Keep it up.

That's a creative poem. This is interseting to see others with Bi Polar who our Poetry Writers like me. I never thought about it until now but i have always either been a Short story writer or Poetry Writer since Middle school. I didn't know i was Bi Polar till early 30's so i guess i now know that most all my creative thoughts in writing were triggered through my Bi Polar.

Yes very moving poem. I've had some poems published as well but not all would be appropriate for here but two that were I put in my journal entries. Poetry is an excellent outlet not just for creativity but for self understanding. I do collage work for the same reason as well.

Your poem holds out hope at one end and gives up hope in another. Do these poems reflect someone else or are you mirror imaging yourself in poetry? One of your poems deals with abandonment and a lost love while another speaks of a chance to come. We all have ways of dealing with rejection and lost hope. Some swing at the walls, some hide from the world, some write poems, some cry, some swear, some do unlikely acts and some actually thank God.

very interesting. you know, i know this site doesn't have much place for poetry...but sometimes it's the only way to express what you're feeling at the time. i think it's a lot easier to understand whats going on inside someone by reading their poetry rather than by reading a story of their life. it's a window directly inside.

d be fun if any other writers/poets wanted to share some of their poetry, especially Christmas/winter related ones. In fact, I just wrote a few poems (two of which are Pensieves- which is a brand new poetry form using all 5 senses in fives lines of poetry; and one is a Haiku- which is 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables). Mine are obviously more Christian-related but you can enter any Christmas/winter poetry (funny, serious, silly, sad, etc.). Just keep it clean.

You always come up with the greatest little poems and pieces of inspiration. Do you have one for every day?

ya i dont blame ya there lol, i went to bed at like 2 am and woke up at 6 am ready to wake up lol, i even feel like i got a good nights sleep lol oh did you go check out my two poems in my journal, i spent like hours writing these poems and hardly anyone commented on them, i was hoping to get lots of comments being that i wrote them for all my friends on here

I really want to name her Jannifer. I want the middle name to be Marie or Poetry. Everyone keeps telling me not to name a baby Poetry but I really like it. Throughout my life writing is the only thing that kept me sane. Every I feel like whether you're writing about something happy, sad, or a horrible event when your poem comes together it's just simply beautiful. But idk which to pick. Could my child have two middle name?

Yeah, it does. What makes it harder for me is that with my last pregnancy, he'd at least txt me frequently to see if I was ok, ask me how I was feeling, how the baby was doing, etc. Anyways, enough of my complaining. Try writing in a journal or writing him letters and give them to him when he gets back. That's what I used to do. I also used to write a lot...like poetry and short stories and stuff. I'd probably still do that if I had more time but I don't.

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. I've been there. That poem could have very well described me a few years ago. (Very beautifully written, by the way, if you wrote it!) It's tough. I wanted to be away from everyone, up in my room in front of a computer where I knew I could talk to people who wouldn't judge me and I could also escape into the world of fictional writing where I didn't have to deal with my reality. That was really the worst thing for me to do.

i have 2 favorite authors. jk rowling (i know she's a kids novelist but....she's a big inspiration to me) and i LOVE dan brown. i don't read a lot of poetry. i do have a book on it but i don't have a favorite. my favorite song is amazed by lonestar. greg sings it too me all the time. i love artwork by da vinci and monet. i'm aiming to get browns new book lost symbols (there are 3 more of his books i need including that one).

I found these poems back in November when my best friends baby died at 6 months old........ What Makes a Mother I thought of you all, I closed my eyes and prayed to God today. I asked what makes a Mother and I know I heard Him say, A Mother has a baby. This we know is true. But God can you be a Mother when your baby's not with you?"Yes you can!", He replied with confidence in His voice, "I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice.

You might have to maybe trade your passions around a little. You like poetry (I've read) and that is a little easier on your body. Maybe you should try focusing on the things you enjoy, that don't involve possible injury. Maybe god has other plans for you that don't involve the NFL.... I remember 15 very well, it is a very hard age to be. Every thing is very overwhelming at that age, so I can only imagine how you must feel. Take it day to day, and try to be patient.

I became interested in Tagore and Rumi....eastern poets/mystics. Enjoyed browsing poetry once more in past month. Also have a pen pal who writes from prison...asking if I've read various classics..like Old Man and the Sea...so we discuss Dickens (his story is Oliver Twist's)....and The Notebook by N. Sparks, as he thought the protagonist was bit like me ...
