My OBGYN gave me a prescription for acne medicine, but i am a litle skeptical about using it. Acne is really bad on my face, neck and chest.

Does anyone know about the scarring after-effects of accutane? I've read several reports of scarring left after it's use. I'm sure that scars are to be expected, as with any open wound, but I don't know if these reports are by anyone with abnormalities with healing/scarring. Here is the situation... I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.

I have recently had a severe acne breakout. I usually use retinol cream and benzol peroxide spot treatment. These products can not be used durin pregnancy! It was a suprise to me. Every over the counter acne product has benzol peroxide in it. I just thought I would share this info with you ladies. I used the benzol peroxide for 4 days before I found out it isn't safe. I know that acne is a pretty common occurance in pregnancy and there is nothing over the counter that you can use.

5 weeks pregnant and I have been taking the isotretinoin drug for my acne. Abortion is higly recommended since isotretinoin can cause severe defects on the baby. Wondering if taking abortion pills is safe and effective. Please help.

I'm a junior in high school and I have severe acne scars on my nose. It's been awhile since I've had them, since before freshman year. I've been able to withstand walking around with such a face so far but recently I'm getting more self conscious. I cleared up my acne ( under neck and jawline ) but i start to have have them again but less severe. However, I have many post-accutance side effects - I have flushing cheek and nose on my face which i never have before and sometime with whitehead but quickly disappear after a few day. Dear all, My girlfriend is stopped with birth control around 5 months ago. We're planning to have a baby. She's having severe acne which started when she stopped taking the pill. Acne on the forehead and the chin, not really in the middle of her face. She's taking zinc and evening primrose oil for about one month now which made not really any difference so far. I went on accutane to try and remedy the issue but even that only cause temporary relief. I have at this point, been on almost every acne medication possible but nothing has helped. I now deal with bad cheek acne that I never had at all before the stroke.

The pimples i keep getting are cystic acne. They hurt really bad and nothing helps them go away. This is currently what i use on my face: Face wash with .5% salicylic acid and another facewash with 3.5% benzoyl peroxide. I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work. My 14 year old son has severe acne on his face, chest and back. He has been seeing a dermatologist for over a year now. He has tried every over the counter medication out there as well as antibiotics (2 different kinds and several different MGs), 6 different prescription acne creams/gels. They seem to work for a little while then stop. Right now his skin is really bad-his face is covered in large, red bumps with white heads. His back is bad too-but to a lesser degree.
