Avatar m tn they dont seem to be doing anything to me except side effects 1st week was worst my anxiety was worse had panic attacks, constant tiredness jittery sweating calmed down bit now i just have constantly shaky hands all time no matter what i do, doctor said thats just me im not sure what he means. anyone else get this? also i dont want him to up my dose as the side effects but not noticing any change does it take longer? thanks.
Avatar f tn So, a trial of 6 to 8 weeks of sertraline is what most doctors do. They will stop this if the side effects are unusual or too much. So, do as your doctor says to see if this is related and if it is not, then you can go back. By the way, are you being titrated up in dose?
Avatar n tn The most common side effects of Sertraline that you should watch out for are nausea, diarrhea and sleep disturbances, in that order. There are a lot of other side effects listed for Sertraline, but these are the ones commonly encountered. Drowsiness and excessive sleep may be seen with Clonazepam. Other side effects are rare. I won't be able to comment much on the effects of the initial dosage on your blood pressure, as it differs person to person.
Avatar m tn My psychiatrist prescribed a starting dose of sertraline of 50mg/day. Since starting the sertraline again i have been suffering from physiological anxiety symptoms such as a tight throat, lump in throat, trouble swallowing and breathing, etc. Is there an existing drug interaction between Sertraline and Buspirone and/or Mirtazapine ? Or can a person's toleration of a drug change over time? I am also dependent on imovane/zopiclone to be able to sleep. Please help.
Avatar f tn In May this year my anxiety came back. So my gp put me on Serdep 100mg. The side effects are bad and my anxiety not better. I am thinking of going back and change to Venaflaxine. Used it for 4 years and felt much better than with the Sertraline.
Avatar f tn We all react differently to medications and we are all able to tolerate side effects differently. If the sertraline works well for your depression/anxiety, it will be up to you personally to decide if you can tolerate the side effect. Just don't give up too quickly. I almost did.
Avatar f tn As most people taking anti depressants would say it takes 1-2 months to get the benefits and also putting up with possible side effects. I personally had the side effects of extreme tiredness/ lethargy, lack of motivation and slight Nausea. After four weeks I still get anxiety but I'm more in control and it doesn't go 'so deep'. My doctor has recently increased my dose to 100mg and only feeling ok but still have to tiredness.
Avatar n tn The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
Avatar n tn I am on 25mg sertraline, day 8 for anxiety and panic attacks - so far only really feeling the side effects and no real relief yet but am very hopeful given all the positive comments I've read online - if I can just last until it starts to kick in. Also hoping that I won't require a higher dosage.

Avatar f tn m going to fight all the side effects I have this time as saying goes got to go through the worse to get better need to make steps now before anxiety rules my life anymore
Avatar f tn t really work, or may just have annoying side effects, or even intolerable side effects, such as insomnia, or more often being tired all the time. Either one can happen. (One med kept me awake like drinking 20 cups of coffee. The same med put my mother to sleep for 18 hours.) Keep hope that there's a medication out there that will work wonders, and keep searching for it, and understand it's normal for any particular one not to work for everyone. Each one works for some.
Avatar m tn After quitting sertraline, all these went away, but the depression came back, so I tried Moclobemide, ending up with ever more severe side effects and more anxiety as well.
Avatar m tn I am having OCD (Obsessive–compulsive disorder), Social anxiety and depression....
Avatar f tn Different meds affect different people different ways. I have been on Sertraline (Zoloft) in the past and I am actually on it now. I actually prefer it to any other SSRI, but I can share with you my personal experiences with it. First of all, it is very common to prescribe a benzo like Xanax when starting an SSRI. It is true that it can have a high affinity for addiction if abused. But in my experience, taking it as prescribed for a month is what it is designed for.
Avatar f tn just try and stay busy as hard as it may seem. distract yourself from these side effects. it helps. if the side effects are really that intolerable then talk to your doc asap. I really hope this med works for you like it has for me. what dosage are you taking?
9475243 tn?1405300275 Sertraline has a higher dose for working than Paxil because the drug are different. Sertraline usually starts its therapeutic dose at 100mg. Some do well at 50. Some are highly sensitive to things and absorb them really well while others don't. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to notice positive effects, although some do notice them earlier. Side effects, though, start right away.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm sorry no one has gotten to your question yet. Sometimes the forums can be a little quiet. No, I haven't taken any of these medications before. I have taken several medications over the 30 years that I've had depression and anxiety though. If you have any unusual side effects or side effects that you just can not deal with make sure to tell your Dr. It's not uncommon for people that have depression and or anxiety to be on more then one medication.
Avatar f tn Are the symptoms I am experiencing a side effect of sertraline? I am on day 16 of taking 50mg sertraline after switching from cymbalta to try and find a saferdrug to try for pregnancy. Week one I was emotional but that settled down and week two was manageable and i felt generally calmer. However by day 14 anxiety smptoms worsened and i am feeling flushed in the face and tingly in arms and waking early feeling unable to cope with nerves and sweating. Should I stick it out?
Avatar f tn Has anyone else taking Fluoxetine (similar to Prozac) experienced side effects? I have noticed some odd changes in the way my body responds to exercise; specifically, excessive sweating. I'm not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising.
Avatar f tn I have been on it for years and never had those side effects. I had a bit of termors and increased anxiety while I adjusted to the medications but not anything like you said here. Were you anxious about taking the medication to begin with?
Avatar n tn I know it frustrating cuz we already feel bad n think the meds shud not give us bad side effects but they do usually go away, at least mine did n im so glad i stuck it out, alotta times people give up on the rite med for them too soon cuz of the side effects but jus try n hold out for 2 weeks but if the side effects r un bearable u shud contact ur dr. Ur not alone tho k so jus kno were all here for u too!!!
Avatar m tn Hi....Sorry you had such a bad experience with the Sertraline. I take it with no problems but unfortunately that's the way it is with AD's. We never know how we'll respond to them until we try them. Since you had such a serious reaction to the Sertraline your doctor will look at what may be better for you (make sure you're medication is being prescribed by a psychiatrist). Everything comes with side effects but that doesn't mean each of us will have any.
Avatar f tn Is having side effects a good sign the meds trying to work on day 3 and managing to put up with them for now slight head ache but more the dry mouth and horrible taste just wanting people's opinions on this and is it good that I'm experiencing day 3 of switching straight over from another that caused side effects for the 5 weeks I was on them and couldn't take it anymore Thanks
Avatar m tn you should switch doctor because yes that could be anxiety too but also can be the med too because your body is not used to it and also some people had very bad side effects to antidepressant What dosage are you taking?
Avatar m tn These are medications that are often prescribed for OCD, anxiety, depression. The sertraline can have side effects. What are you feeling like? I don't want to list side affects because I don't want you to start looking for particular one. :) How much Sertraline are you taking and how much alprazolam do you take during the day?
