zoloft

Avatar n tn He said i should wait 2 months Incase its withdrawl from the sertraline or see an optician, despite the fact that I pressed that my vision is and has always been perfect and i've had no issues with vision during these episodes, also he totally ignored the fact I said twice that these episodes started happening a few months before i stopped taking sertraline and previous to that i had been on amytryptaline and sertraline for about 14 months with none of these episodes.
Avatar m tn I'm a 30yr old male. I was on Sertraline approx 10 years ago for depression and it seemed to work until a crash. For one reason or another over the years, my treatment has changed several times. It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, three months ago I started with pgad, which is a condition that you feel unwanted sexual arousal, it is horrible, I couldn't even sleep, at some moments It goes away and others it will return. I went to more than 12 different doctors, anyone knew what was happening. I have ocd, this year is going to be my 5th year with ocd and with anxiety, with despersonalization and irreality.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking sertraline for mood swings and have been taking it for about 5 years. I also have recently been put on topamax for migraines. I have read about all this wonderful weight loss. If anything I have gained. Could these 2 medicines together be holding me back from losing> I would like to go off of the sertraline.

Avatar n tn I am on 25mg sertraline, day 8 for anxiety and panic attacks - so far only really feeling the side effects and no real relief yet but am very hopeful given all the positive comments I've read online - if I can just last until it starts to kick in. Also hoping that I won't require a higher dosage.
Avatar f tn It is a good fit. I ended up in a psych ward for 3 days because I ate a bottle of Prozac and everything else made me feel dead inside. I remember wanting to cry and my eyes actually hurting from trying and I couldn't. It sucked and I hate that people have to go through these feelings By the way, we are neighbors. I'm in Surfside!
Avatar m tn s the better choice for now) and she told me to take sertraline for a month to see If I get the wanted improvement. That was some time ago, I didn't take the sertraline then because I felt kind of scared about it because I read it is an antidepresive and I'm not depressive. Later I talked about it with a couple psychiatrists on the internet and my psychiatrist, they all told me not to be scared about it, they told me it was just to help something related to serotonin.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. About 2 weeks ago my medication of Levothyroxine and Sertraline was increased to Levothyroxine 100 micro grams and Sertraline 50mg. About a week after starting these I got a positive pregnancy test (I took about 3 tests just to make sure lol). I have a midwife appointment tomorrow but my symptoms have been bare to none (Only cramping, tiredness and on/off headaches). I was wondering if any of these medications can effect a pregnancy test?
Avatar m tn Are these two drugs compatable levothyroxine and sertraline hcl? Does your thyroid control your blood sugar?
Avatar f tn Hello, I have recently started taking Zoloft for about 6 weeks now and I've had insomnia. But when I take it in the morning I feel sluggish for at least a couple hours and feel Ike I need a nap. I'm only on 25mg now but my doc said I may need to up my dose for full effect. She also prescribed lunesta which did help me fall asleep but I only sleep for like 3/4 hours then I can't go back to sleep! Which also makes me tired. She suggested splitting the dose.
Avatar f tn I might be pregnant and my psychiatrist told me not to worry about the embryo. He told me that even while I'm taking 15 mg of Aripiprazole and 50 mg of Sertraline daily, there is no danger. I'm really worried. if I'm pregnant, would these doses harm my embryo being taken daily?
Avatar n tn 25 mg Clonazepam after breakfast. Sertraline after lunch and 0.25 mg Clonazepam, 2.5 mg Propranolol and my regular thyroid medication after dinner. I am trying to wean off Propranolol. Is this correct schedule? Would I become hypertensive or hypotensive after the initial dosage? Please do reply.
Avatar n tn I have been taking the generic for Zoloft, Sertraline, for about 8 months now. I did another physical 3 wks ago, and it showed my TSH levels off and my Cholesterol as 276 with high LDL cholesterol also. My HDL level was high, which is great. I exercise and eat very healthy.
Avatar m tn You have been prescribed Sertraline for mood swings and also it is working well for you, your correlation of using Sertraline and getting migraines might be ok, but it is always better to discuss with the doctor who prescribed the drug about its possible side effects and a substitute thereon. You might consult a migraine specialist also to get an evaluation and update on drug use. Try relaxation techniques to decrease stress. Keep posting your views. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows the difference between apo-sertraline and pms-sertraline? I can't afford to purchase my prescription for pms-sertraline, my mom takes the apo version and gets her prescriptions for free under gov't funding. If there's a difference, I obviously won't take her meds but if it's the same thing I don't see the harm. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hey sorry justaguy33....I was typing while you were typing. I read now that you are on an AD and a benzo.....when you read the precautions for lorazepam, one of the statements is to be sure and tell your dr if you have glaucoma (narrow angle, I believe)....so it's possible that a change or intake of the benzo could affect your pupils accordingly. I was on the very same meds you are on at one time in my life, and yes, I had pupil changes. While taking the meds, my vision was GREAT too.
Avatar f tn It does NOT contain HCG and therefore will NOT affect the results of a pregnancy test. I started sertraline (Zololft) when I was breastfeeding my last baby and became pregnant this time while taking it. I am currently 16 weeks pregnant. While there have not been any major studies done as to the affects of sertraline and pregnancy, it is one of the more commonly prescribed antidepressant meds by ob doctors because there has not been a defiante link made to issues with the fetus.
Avatar n tn The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol
Avatar m tn Often options include trying other meds with less of this particular side effect (for depression/anxiety often pristiq, effexor, cymbalta) or adding another med to the sertraline such as wellbutrin/bupoprion. It can take some trial and error but it can get better!
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me Sertraline 25mg on top of my existing med. The first day I took Sertraline I got stomach upset and diarrhea; reduced to 12.5mg now. I m suffering side-effects like I'm having a fever(fatigue, sweaty, chills at times). On top of that, my menstruation's cramp is exceptionally bad this time, not sure it was affected by Sertraline. I am not sure this med would help me anymore. Hope someone could induce more positive effects about Sertraline.
1910757 tn?1348683319 After the first week or so, the adverse effects slowly disappeared and my mood improved a lot. I was honestly loving Sertraline, because it made me feel the way I was before the depressive episode and it also improved my anxiety. About two weeks ago, I started getting diarrhea. At first it didn't bother me, because I spend most of my time at home and I just though it would eventually go away like the other adverse effects.
Avatar f tn hiya, i have just been changed from one anti depressant to another called sertraline, i have been taking it for just over a week, i have been getting terrible headaches, which feels like my head is going to blow, my skin is uncontrollably itchy to the p-oint of scratching until i bleed, i am having terrible pounding in my chest, with palpitations, not sleeping at all, feeling sick a lot, dizziness, tightness in the chest to the point of it feels like i am being choked and can not breath properly
1709162 tn?1314084832 After 5 days of taking it I ended up in hospital with rapid heartbeat adrenaline rushes and chest pain. They kept me in and treated me as a heart attack because of abnormal ecg. I was kept.in overnight and concluded that I was suffering from oesophagul spasms. They have set me up to have a myoview scan as I have had an echo a year ago when I had the same problems which was good. They told my doc to give me nifedipine for the spasms which made me.worse.
Avatar n tn That was about a year ago, I never had to increase my dose again and in fact, my doc and I are talking about tapering down and see how I feel. If you asked 10 people this same question, you'd get 10 different answers. Having said that, I would say that if you haven't noticed ANY change in your mood within 6-8 weeks, you could probably discuss a dosage increase with your doctor at that point. With antidepressants, the by-word is "patience!
Avatar f tn I think you need to see your doctor and tell him the problem and see if he can advise you on a different drug for your anxiety. You obviously cannot go on like this. However, most mood medications do take 6-8 weeks to take effect, and you will feel worse before you feel better. But in your case, if you have to return to work soon, that is a problem. Is this the first anti depressant you have been on? Probably a shock to your system. Poor you. I do hope things improve.
