seroquel with xanax

Before this i was taking xanax .25 for panic attics, which I took the xanax 3 x a day. So the Dr. said replace the 3rd xanax with the seroquel 25mg before be d to seep how it works. OK i start taking Seroquel Fri night. Sat. i feel tired a little out of it and feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack. I say OK it probably just the meds getting into me. sun feel the same way. Mon. feel like a zombie not in my own body, very jittery lightheaded. also i flipped out on my husband for no reason.

Thanks for replying. I thought he was giving me the seroquel to help stablize my moods and help with sleep. A replacement for the xanax and ambien. Didn't think the seroquel would react in such a violent way. Took last 2 xanax Moday-a little jittery and sluggish but ok...just scared after reading so much about DONT go cold turkey. He is out of town -so er would the answer. Thanks....

I have been taking seroquel for 1-2 years.. at 1st i considered this my MAGIC PILL, however the sedation is a killer. I have suffered extreme tiredness, lethargy and sedation on many different meds in the past 8 yrs to treat my BP, including zoloft, lithium, epilim.. and i didn't notice it with the seroquel at 1st, but now i may as well be a zombie. I have just today changed my script to seroquel XR (the slow release). Can anyone tell me, is the dopiness any or much less on this?

how much seroquel, xanax, and alcohol causes an overdose. im qworried about my sister, she ha been prescribed xanax for 8 years now at 2mg a day, so her tolerance is well established. she is also an alcoholic. thankfully, she knows not to combine xanax while drinking, but what about the addition of seroquel? could she OD from the pill combination alone? would then the addition of alcohol just pretty much seal her fate?

I'm an recovering addict whose been clean and sober since '99. as is my husband. (although he relapsed from "our" clean date and went into a 90 day Relapse Prevention Program) but whose counting. It feels like we've been sober forever. We both take Seroquel every night. No groggyness. No nothing. Otherwise we would never have been able to sleep. Too many years of having to drink to sleep. No adverse side effects of the Seroquel to date. (15 years and counting).

t know much about Seroquel but medications like these can and do take time to build up in the system. Keep working with your doctor...many people do not feel the effects right away...sorry I can't be of much help, but I am sure there are some people that have taken this in the community.

There appear to be warnings about liver damage with Seroquel in combination with alcohol. The full information would be available on the medication website. It would be essential to discuss all this wth your psychiatrist as to potential health effects. Also drinkng can make many medications less effective. It would be worthwhile to discuss this with your psychiatrist as well.

I changed from Olanzapine to Seroquel about 9 months ago, and its about the best thing I have ever done. For the first time in many years I feel as if I am in control of my life again. I take 200mg in the morning and 400mg at night. It was a bit sedating at the start, but now it's fine. I still suffer from depression, but all the mania and hallucinations, and voices have just about stopped. Julie.

m touch with my doctor she told me to fast taper off of Vistaril in 6 days then go off the Seroquel because after 2 weeks of being on 25mg I was still sick. So I tapered off Vistaril and went off Seroquel On a Thursday. Still very sick every day. By Sunday I was in a total panic. I went to the ER and they prescribed xanax .5 mg 3x a day. I had enough for 7 days. They told me to city Buspar which I take at 10mg 3x a day in half and take the xanax. Which I did.

Are you still on the zoloft and seroquel along with the xanax or just xanax?

The seroquel with probaly just make her super drowsy and she will need to sleep it off. I would skip the xanax. Just watch her for strange behavior and notify 911 if she gets any kind of chest pains. Wishing you the best of luck!

the meds i am on are not the ones that agree with my body.instead of xanax i would like to switch it with klonopin 3 xs a day i think it would help me more ...

You get the extended release which should cause less sedation but still when mixed with a benzodiazepine such as Xanax it will add up and make you feel like you mentioned above. Xanax should only be taken occasionally when you are very anxious or having a panic attack. Xanax is very addictive like any benzodiazepine. To answer to question directly, yes there is an interaction between Xanax and Seroquel.

I have never ever been the type of person whos weight fluctuates. About 3 months ago I started taking 20mg lexapro at night with the 50mg seroquel. All I know is i used to be a size 4...ive been a size 4 for the past 8 years probably...NOW, i am a size 10 or 12...and all the weight is in my stomach(with a little in my hips/butt). Im not pregnant...I exercise...I eat pretty healthy...but im confused as hell. has ANYONE had a similar situation with this drug(s)?

Hi adel does seroquel help in reducing your anxiety?.It has reduced my anxiety since it was started yesterday by my Pdoc.Do you think 25 mg BD is sufficient to relieve anxiety as he is using it for that purpose.

and i almost had a panic attack today when i went..was on my xanax just 1/2mg...the serquil i been up and down on the doses..was on 100mgs at bedtime for 2 yrs..but wasent helping me threw the daytime..so i see my family docter he has me on this serquil..he put me on 200mg xr,s 1 at bedtime,,took them for 3 days made me a zombie..so now i take 25mgs 1 4 times aday,,even this makes me groggy throughout the day.....i cant find a shrink to help me,,so my family doctors been helping me....

I have always taken regular release Seroquel, 450mg at bedtime for a few years now. My new psych dr wants me to try Seroquel XR - extended release. I have been having problems with my anxiety disorder - panic attacks which are new, and with my moods cycling rapidly. She said that some people have reported an anti-anxiety effect that carries through into the daytime when the Seroquel XR is taken at bedtime.

25 mg due to anxiety.Now he has asked me to stop the Xanax from tomorrow by saying that Xanax 1.25 mg is not a big dose.My question is whether it is alright to stop Xanax immediately even though I am on a similar dose of Klonipin and whether I may experience any difficulties in stopping the Xanax.I am on Seroquel 50 mg for anxiety.Thanks.

I started on regular Seroquel after a manic episode that had psychotic features. I was stable for 3 years. I had lost a lot of weight, and the Seroquel dose started to give me a harmless but uncomfortable side effect. My dr at the time said I shouldn't be on it since I wasn't currently having psychotic symptoms and tapered me off it. I went from 450mg to 150mg and I was unable to sleep and my thoughts were disjointed.

He is currently on seroquel, Prozac and Xanax along with trazadone at bedtime. These meds are all prescribed meds. Is he still undergoing withdrawal symptoms, is this PAWS?, or is something else going on. I've posted here before and you guys have been great. I really need your help again.

When i try to sleep my mind is running so fast with thoughts, so its not that im not tired, i just cant calm my mind. I was on seroquel for a year it was helping but its not working anymore. My doctor is trying herbal supps (inositol, magnesium)...which frustrates me because i have severe insomnia. Is there any med i should recommend to my doctor?? I have lived with panic and anxiety for 14 years. It was HELL in the beginning. I mean awful. I was 19 years old and so scared. Since then I have been on zoloft which saved my life. I truly beleive that. It was so hard.... I have been on different dosages as the years went on depending on my needs etc but always worked with my doc to find a level that was good for me. Clinically in general the most effective mood stabilizer is lithium but each person reacts differently to each medication. Seroquel causing mania is rare. My experience with mood stabilizers was different from yours because I responded very well to Lamictal and Seroquel (which is an antipsychotic used as a mood stabilizer).
