seroquel ocd

Were you diagnosed with anything else in addition to OCD? I know sometimes anti-psychotics are prescribed to OCD sufferers but I thought Seroquel was for Bi-Polar?

I would like for him to change meds, come off the Seroquel and maybe go on another drug (antidepressant such as Luvox) for his OCD. How long would it take for him to wean off Seroquel and start another drug? I feel since he started taking Seroquel in 2004, his eye problem has gotten worse and I would like him to come off the drug. I don't know if this will help with his eyes or not. Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

But never exceeded 100. Today I took 150 till now and will reach 200 by night.

0 mg at night, and seroquel 450mg. After the addition of seroquel I started having classical music in my head that I could hear when I was hospitalized I asked several people if they heard what I did and they did not. However when I came home from the hospital I didn't have anymore auditory hallucinations. Seroquel helped me a lot with my ocd and gave me a lot of functioning ability. My adverse affects are sleep walking, night sweats and shaking hands until I eat something sweet.

Did he titrate down on seroquel? My son took that medication at a low dose for about 2 months. Will say he had no issue when coming off of it. The question perhaps is if your husband is having a resurgence of mental health issues even including a brief bit of psychosis related to his ptsd? Did he begin any therapy for ptsd? My son had psychosis with his depression for a period of about 5 months.

Something lake paranoia (mistrust in others but with a basis) and some weird OCD/anxiety symptom that almost ruined my life. These intrusive thoughts almost made me handicapped but they now reduced by 80-90% probably thanx to efexor and klonopin. I don't wanna mention them because they are too weird. So today I saw a new shrink. I've known this guy for 3 years because my brother is seeing him too. I told him my problems. I thought I have paranoid personality but he disagrees.

Hi just wondering if anyone here had good results on respidone for ocd urges and instrusive thoughts. Zoloft just didnt cut it for me so now to respidone.

m a 20 Year old mom , to a 5 year old boy, 3 Months ago I started having bad anxiety attacks, and then for the last 2 months I feel weird all day I dont feel like My self anymore anything I do seems weird when I bring my son to school Outside seems weird Even just being In my house seems weird, Ive Been put on 50 mg of seroquel at night and 20 mg of Citalopram and Its been 4 weeks and a half and I still have not noticed a differents , dose anyone have any suggestions to help I cant keep feeling

Seroquel may not be working for him or he may not be on a high enough dose. Who diagnosed BP and OCD? If he is psychotic manic on Seroquel then is he really BP and no paranoid schizophrenic ? You really honestly need to look after yourself - if he is making the statements you say and talking about violence and taking seroquel and drinking then you have a serious problem.

WE are fortunate though as he was diagnosed with Pure O ocd and knows this and accepts it. so, he can label this as OCD. Your mom is caught up in believing that the voices are real. THIS should most definitely be addressed with her psychiatrist. My son took seroquel (quitipine). For him, it was not a match. He felt like a train rolled over him. It would hit his body and he would feel like he couldn't move and the whole day, he was groggy. He took it for 6 weeks.

i had to post again to see an answer because no response to old post. What i think is that my case is escalating to the worse. I stayed 6 years on 2 pills (1 typical AP, 1 atypical AP) + AD. in 2006 i stopped the AP's. after 6 months i got my 1st mania. life changed since then. Of course prior to that i was an OCD person. Either pdoc knew i was bipolar or ignorant. don't know.

I used to be so depressed. My therapist said it was the worst depression he has ever seen. I've gotten so much better. I'm doing well. So why do I still think about suicide? Why do I still sometimes think life isn't worth it? Why do I still fantasize about death? I won't kill myself because I know that will devastate my friends and family. i have been diagnosed with bipolar depression and ADD.i am taking seroquel xr for this, im not really sure its working all the time though. i also have some ocd things as well. is that normal? is any of this stuff normal? i feel depressed alot especially here lately without a second job to pay for everything and i want to just be done with it all i cant take it any longer. i have talked to my doctor about this stuff to so no need to tell me all that.

sounds more like bipolar. You could have ocd as well but the medications used to treats ocd (SSRI anti-depressents) can worsen bipolar but if its bipolar a mood stabilizer (Lithium, Lamictal, Depakoate). But only a psychiatrist can make a diagnosis. For information (on all mood disorders) google "Depression Central".

Our son is taking Seroquel XR 300 mg strength once per day - 4 weeks now - he had his first psychosis one month ago- he often displays sever anger at home. What should we do ? He lives else where so we typically only see him once per day .....10 to 15 minutes at a time when he comes home. We would like to help him.

nope I can confirm Seroquel isn't causing Asperger or autism, it is indeed bipolar, ocd and adhd are the reasons why Seroquel was needed is what causes Asperger and autism. I am positive. if it isn't the cause then they are very similar neurological disorders that can be seen in the same gene pool. my low functioning bipolar brother has Asperger kids.

I'm a 24 year old male, who drinks about three times per week, twice more so in a binge drinking fashion. I've been diagnosed with OCD and possibly Panic Disorder, strong phobias. I was told I'm 'not' an alcoholic, at outpatient therapy. AA itself seems a little far fetched. OMG I am on 200 mg of topamax cuz seroquel made me fat and my sugar is up but I can't stop it because it is saving my life. My ocd has disapeared for the first time in twenty years.

t work, Wellbutrin made me shake so much I could hardly put my make-up on, cymbalta made my anxiety go through the roof, prozac made me too hyper and anxious, paxil worked then stopped, Anafranil was for my OCD but didn't work, even when I tried it intervenously. I also had combonations of these pills. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. All I can say is THANK GOD FOR LUVOX...its the only drug that has helped my ocd...

It put me into a 1 1/2 year manic episode and I started an affair, abused drugs and then the affair ended and I ended up with a restraining order on me and then arrested (really long story) - After the affair ended, I put myself in a psych ward on a 5150. They then diagnosed me as being bipolar and put me on Seroquel. Seroquel made me feel better but I put on a lot of weight. So I went off of the seroquel and am now on NOTHING.

I did have a cousin though who as a teenager was diagnosed with anorexia and it was connected to OCD and she stablized on Risperdal. Risperdal does have mood stabilization properties though and is approved for that usage so see what happens.

Hey all. So my doctor let me go back on Paxil because nothing else seems to work the same way. He has also prescribed Abilify for my horrible anxiety and OCD. Apparently, it's a medication for bipolar disorder or schizophrenia but he seems to think at the low dosage he prescribed (2 mg.) that it will help to "calm my brain down" and my OCD thoughts. The paxil is for my anxiety and I have Klonopin for my "freak out" times which are quite often lately.
