I take 200 mg of seroquel to help me sleep if i cut it in half will it still help me fall asleep!! I only have 12 days left of seroquel and i can't see the doctor until the 8th of next month so i'm freaking out about not being able to sleep!! Please help!!

I was wondering if it is common, or even known, if doctors prescribe Seroquel or it's generic brand for help with sleep (versus the standard Ambien, etc. and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.

But my patient assistance was back ordered so for a few months ive had to get it at the pharmacy as the generic name. I just now got my Seroquel (brand name med) and I am having the same side effects I did when I 1st started years ago. Can it really make this much of a difference? It’s the same dose, but I mean im falling asleep all thru out the day! Its crazy & getting a little scary.

My copay is $16 for her to write the rx or $5 for 80 generic. Wish I had known the first time to get generic!

bactrim is a good antibiotic for uti and has a generic on the 4 dollar list at walmart im going through a uti right now it does need treatment id get to a doc as soon as i could if i were her i also have irraitation during sex down there but im starting to get a little better since i got my antibiotics also but AZO over the counter at walmart its for uti symptoms and i got the generic bactrim 4 dollars at walmart pharmacy were i also work

Lamictal is available in generic form. With antipsychotics the latest one that is available in generic form is Risperdal. However there should be insurance options such as Medicaid or if you are working and its available in your state the Medicaid Buy in for Working People with Disabilities.

Ive tried various sleep meds but the one i have found helpful is Seroquel. It gave me great sleep at 25mg for about a month until my body got used to it. Then I had to keep increasing, now im at 300mg!! I've started taking Cymbalta for my anxiety, but its made me SO ALERT, that its completely taken away the affect of the seroquel. Ive tried clonazpam, zopiclone, trazadone and some others with no lucky.... My question is, how do i stop my body from adapting to the seroquel??

You can get a round of episodic therapy for $4 at walmart and similar type stores if you have a prescription from your provider. I think suppressive therapy is $10-14/month there.

These are two seperate medications. Call your doctor and explain that you can no longer afford the Cymbalta and he/she can prescribe a generic which will work just as well. I've been on a generic for several years with excellent results! Take care.

It is a different manufacturer than the generic I have been taking for about 3 years from Walmart. Since I have been taking the generic from CVS I have been extremely tired in the afternoons and now I don't feel well every afternoon like clockwork. I only take 15 milligrams of a 20 milligram pill and have been cutting it down for 2 years to only 15.Is this happening because the depression is coming on and the paxil is pooping out.?

You can use first generation antipsychotics (like thorazine) in bipolar, but they come with higher risk of movement disorders, so most doctors don't prescribe them for BP. Venlafaxine is the generic of Vyvanse, which is for ADD/ADHD. Some docs prescribe stimulants off label for BP, but generally not as a first try. Do you have a diagnosis of ADD or ADHD?

Lamotrigine gave me a rash, wellbutrin (generic version) made me irritable and snippy at everything. The seroquel (generic version) has been wonderful, although it makes me hungry but since I take it at night I try not to stay awake with it. Inderal (propranolol) gave me apathy so I am taking less. The new medication I was prescribed is Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg in the morning, trileptal (oxcarbazepin) 150mg twice a day. Seroquel and inderal are still the same.

ve been stable for 6 years on Seroquel and I learned how to use Trazadone as a sleep aide. The name brand is Desyrel generic is Trazadone. My doctor prescribes it as 50 mg and I can take one or two for insomnia. This prevents my mania, as it usaully starts out as not sleeping. I've heard of some people going 15 years without a manic episode. The right medication will prevent it and stay away from caffeine.

Just home from my primary care doctor and he gave me a prescription for Generic Zoloft. I will give that a try. While my problem has different root than the original posting this thread, I offer my experience with a walk down the medication trail. Don't like to take drugs, but if the depression is severe that may be the best path forward. Don't know the cost, but "Generic" suggests lower cost.

WalMart has the generic form of clomid on their low-cost list. At least they used to. I think it was $9 a month. As for Ovidrel, I'm not sure where to get it cheaper, but I know Novarel (which is basically the same thing, but you have to mix it yourself) is a bit cheaper. For some reason, though, it made the injection site more tender than the ovidrel the month I used it, but it worked just as well. Good luck!

Generic forms do not save the insurance companies all that much money - but will agrue the fact until they are "blue in the face" If it comes down to it - stay on the brand name and pay the difference. many many money saving offers are available to continue Synthroid. The generic version of clomid is actually pretty cheap. I believe it's only about $12 a month at the WalMart Pharmacy. So if you've been using the brand name, switching to the generic could save you some money. Best of luck with everything!

In a prime example of government bumbling they have made it difficult to get generic drugs through the approval process also while allowing pharmaceutical companies to unfairly and monopolistically raise the price of generics and brand names through the ceiling. Generic drugs that are not difficult to make and require no research that used to cost $4 at Walmart not cost $85.
