Avatar f tn I'm on 150mg of slow release Seroquel and I googled the interactions but theyre all big names lol. I have a cold and want to make some Neo-Citran (its actually a non-generic brand called Equate Hot Lemon Relief lol) and it has warning on the box not to mix with certain things but again I have no idea!
Avatar n tn I was wondering if it is common, or even known, if doctors prescribe Seroquel or it's generic brand for help with sleep (versus the standard Ambien, etc. and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
612551 tn?1450022175 Oh Jerry you're not the only one who worries about the cost of meds, some of my meds aren't even covered by my health care plan (PCIP program pre-existing insurance plan). I was paying $352 a month premiums, which was double what I did on United Health Care. Finally they lowered the cost of the premiums by about 40% July1st to $211, so I'll be able to afford more meds or change from generic to brand as my dr's have suggested I do.
736475 tn?1281259327 extended release seroquel starts at 200mg, sway your husband may need them so i wouldnt push for detox if his doctor feels he should take them you can call astrazenica for free medication, or make an appointment with mental health and file for their patients assitance program
574118 tn?1305135284 When treated for the depression the pdoc changed my seroquel from quick release to XR. Immediately I found it difficult to sleep and it triggered a mild hypomania, but nothing serious. However it lifted me out (if a bit too quickly) of the depression. If you are finding the sedative effects of seroquel beneficial for sleep you may lose this with the XR.
571167 tn?1223214465 Seroquel has a 2 dif forms of the drug ...a time release and instant release (still works all day). I believe the time release works better and take it at night before bed.. get a GREAT night sleep and you don't feel drowsy next day. All the antipsyc drugs cause weight gain.. so beware. If I had to choose one or other...def seroquel. Abilify can cause long term brain and muscle effects that are irreversible. . Read up on abilify withdrawl. Good luck!
5082295 tn?1371250911 But my patient assistance was back ordered so for a few months ive had to get it at the pharmacy as the generic name. I just now got my Seroquel (brand name med) and I am having the same side effects I did when I 1st started years ago. Can it really make this much of a difference? It’s the same dose, but I mean im falling asleep all thru out the day! Its crazy & getting a little scary.
1912569 tn?1485015929 Lamotrigine gave me a rash, wellbutrin (generic version) made me irritable and snippy at everything. The seroquel (generic version) has been wonderful, although it makes me hungry but since I take it at night I try not to stay awake with it. Inderal (propranolol) gave me apathy so I am taking less. The new medication I was prescribed is Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg in the morning, trileptal (oxcarbazepin) 150mg twice a day. Seroquel and inderal are still the same.
874521 tn?1424116797 Hi, Oxycontin is the brand name for the medication and yes it is extended release. Now the oxycodone ER is the generic version and if that's listed on your bottle then your most likley taking the generic version. Your pharmacist will tell you which generic brand your taking. As far as I know only malikroft is allowed to make the generic form of oxycontin. When you get a generic your RX bottle will list the name brand and the generic name under it.
Avatar n tn Is Seroquel XR 50mg 2tabs 2x a day the equivalent of Seroquel 100mg 2x a day?
574118 tn?1305135284 Oh extended release. I didn't know that. All the commercials on TV about the new Seroquel claim it helps with depression. Even my psychiatrist said, he can't understand that since the Seroquel causes fatique. The only good thing about the new Seroquel is that the old one will be a generic soon and will help save lots of money and more people will be able to afford it.
Avatar f tn I have been able to come down a couple of 100 mgs of Seroquel, so I am on 300 extended release of Seroquel at night along with 3 mgs of Envega as well at night. I get up at 5 and read and do Tai Chi exercises. But I am SO doped up till noon/1:00 pm that I have to take a nap around 8 a.m. I then don't have the strength to hardly get off the couch and I have NO drive to do anything till late afternoon when I start to feel better. This is REALLY messing up my life.
999828 tn?1250122926 i would talk to my dr and if u r using this for sleep u need the instant release tabs....in wds u would need more but 25 mgs of seraquil instant release is enuf to knock an elphant out...
605458 tn?1539228808 I have always taken regular release Seroquel, 450mg at bedtime for a few years now. My new psych dr wants me to try Seroquel XR - extended release. I have been having problems with my anxiety disorder - panic attacks which are new, and with my moods cycling rapidly. I am not keen on taking the Xanax for anxiety, but I do when absolutely necessary. She said that some people have reported an anti-anxiety effect that carries through into the daytime when the Seroquel XR is taken at bedtime.
1134609 tn?1269272200 Does the regular Seroquel have to be taken twice a day? I take my morning dose and cannot stay awake; it's getting frustrating. If have I have to take it twice a day, does the drowsiness in the morning wear off after awhile?
605458 tn?1539228808 But regardless there is at least one antipsychotic of a more standard type close to release so keep up to date by googling "psychmeds123" (the site updates itself).
Avatar f tn Actually Zyprexa is now available as a generic. If a person has an issue with the cost of the medication it would make sense for them to ask their psychiatrist for the generic form as its basically the same medication but not being the brand form would be far less expensive (the generic would be called olanzapine).
1378325 tn?1285346625 Hi, I get my prescriptions through Express Scripts and they recently contacted my doctor about a generic for Effexor ER called Venlafaxine. The problem is, I now take the extended release Effexor and the supposed generic for this med is $70 more than the brand name Effexor ER. How could a generic subsitute be more expensive than the brand name, just doesn't make any sense to me. If I chose to take the non-extended release generic Venlafaxine, it would be $80 cheaper than the Effexor ER.
Avatar n tn I started on regular Seroquel after a manic episode that had psychotic features. I was stable for 3 years. I had lost a lot of weight, and the Seroquel dose started to give me a harmless but uncomfortable side effect. My dr at the time said I shouldn't be on it since I wasn't currently having psychotic symptoms and tapered me off it. I went from 450mg to 150mg and I was unable to sleep and my thoughts were disjointed.
1021784 tn?1306363011 I have taken seroquel since I was 17 and I am now 24. Usually a doctor will start you off on a lower dose from 25 mg to 100 mg. It makes you really sleepy so don't drive. But it does help with anxiety and insomnia and bad dreams. I am now at 600 mg. Over long periods of time u will get immune to lower doses. I take seroquel xr which is extended release where u take it at night and the benefits last all day. Not just at night. U won't be sleepy all day, just at night when u first take it.
Avatar n tn but you must make sure it is the generic for toprol xl because there is metoprolol succinate which is the generic for toprol xl and metoprolol tartrate which is the generic for lopressor. They both work in two different ways so they can not be interchanged at the same dose. I asked this question before toprol xl became a generic.
Business woman2 25, 37.5, 50, 75, and 100. Also, the extended release forms of Venlafaxine capsules come in many strengths too: 37.5, 75, and 150. Most of the tablet forms will contain Lactose and Gluten. Some of the extended release capsules do not contain neither Gluten nor Lactose. It will help me very much, if I know the dosage form and strength. We might be able to find you a supplier that do not use Lactose and Gluten in its Venlafaxine. Thanks and be well.
Avatar f tn Ive tried various sleep meds but the one i have found helpful is Seroquel. It gave me great sleep at 25mg for about a month until my body got used to it. Then I had to keep increasing, now im at 300mg!! I've started taking Cymbalta for my anxiety, but its made me SO ALERT, that its completely taken away the affect of the seroquel. Ive tried clonazpam, zopiclone, trazadone and some others with no lucky.... My question is, how do i stop my body from adapting to the seroquel??
736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
Avatar n tn Anyone take generic Topamax for migraine prevention? Please share your review if you do. I'm about to start it but am apprehensive as all I've read in researching is it's got a high side affect profile.
