Seroquel generic form

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel generic form

seroquel

Avatar f tn If a person has an issue with the cost of the medication it would make sense for them to ask their psychiatrist for the generic form as its basically the same medication but not being the brand form would be far less expensive (the generic would be called olanzapine).
Avatar m tn I take 200 mg of seroquel to help me sleep if i cut it in half will it still help me fall asleep!! I only have 12 days left of seroquel and i can't see the doctor until the 8th of next month so i'm freaking out about not being able to sleep!! Please help!!
Avatar n tn I was wondering if it is common, or even known, if doctors prescribe Seroquel or it's generic brand for help with sleep (versus the standard Ambien, etc. and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
Avatar f tn t know if you are taking a capsule form or pill form of Effexor. I went on to the generic because it is in pill form, and was able to cut it up into smaller and smaller doses, as with the capsules this is not easy. If you look up previous posts about withdrawing from Effexor, they may help. Let us know how you get on please. Take care and hope you continue to feel better when you have stopped the Effexor.
5082295 tn?1371250911 But my patient assistance was back ordered so for a few months ive had to get it at the pharmacy as the generic name. I just now got my Seroquel (brand name med) and I am having the same side effects I did when I 1st started years ago. Can it really make this much of a difference? It’s the same dose, but I mean im falling asleep all thru out the day! Its crazy & getting a little scary.
Avatar f tn Lamictal is available in generic form. With antipsychotics the latest one that is available in generic form is Risperdal. However there should be insurance options such as Medicaid or if you are working and its available in your state the Medicaid Buy in for Working People with Disabilities.
Avatar f tn I'm on 150mg of slow release Seroquel and I googled the interactions but theyre all big names lol. I have a cold and want to make some Neo-Citran (its actually a non-generic brand called Equate Hot Lemon Relief lol) and it has warning on the box not to mix with certain things but again I have no idea!
Avatar n tn At the time, my doctor informed not to take the generic form of Synthroid. I recently switched pharmacists who prescribed a generic form, Levothyroxine. After a few days of taking the medication, I noticed I had become extremely fatigued all day long and have also recently noticed irritability. Could these symptoms be caused by taking the generic form of the medication?
736475 tn?1281259327 does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.
Avatar f tn Ive tried various sleep meds but the one i have found helpful is Seroquel. It gave me great sleep at 25mg for about a month until my body got used to it. Then I had to keep increasing, now im at 300mg!! I've started taking Cymbalta for my anxiety, but its made me SO ALERT, that its completely taken away the affect of the seroquel. Ive tried clonazpam, zopiclone, trazadone and some others with no lucky.... My question is, how do i stop my body from adapting to the seroquel??
Avatar f tn I found out at the doctor's office today that Provigil is going generic. Good news/bad news. Bad news is that my insurance has never approved Provigil but my doctor always had a plenty of samples for me. Now, no more samples. Has anyone tried the generic Provigil? I've been given the new Nuvigil to try for a week. If that also works then we will fight my insurance company for that. Just checking to see if anyone has tried the new medicine or the generic form.
Avatar n tn I've been on Seroquel, an anti-psychotic medicine for many years. I use it for sleep. I started with 12.5mg/night in 1999 and now I'm up to 400-600mg every night. Over the last few months I've noticed that my legs have been twitching (that's the best way I can explain it) constantly. Sometimes my arms do too but not as often as my legs. Sometimes my entire body twitches...
1134609 tn?1269272200 Does the regular Seroquel have to be taken twice a day? I take my morning dose and cannot stay awake; it's getting frustrating. If have I have to take it twice a day, does the drowsiness in the morning wear off after awhile?
1912569 tn?1485015929 Lamotrigine gave me a rash, wellbutrin (generic version) made me irritable and snippy at everything. The seroquel (generic version) has been wonderful, although it makes me hungry but since I take it at night I try not to stay awake with it. Inderal (propranolol) gave me apathy so I am taking less. The new medication I was prescribed is Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg in the morning, trileptal (oxcarbazepin) 150mg twice a day. Seroquel and inderal are still the same.
Avatar m tn i have been using generic drugs for long time.i tried brand and generic drugs. Both results are same but generic is much cheaper than branded. there are some minor side effects like headache etc. but overall safe. I recommended to use generic drugs. Google it to find cheap drugs. i do buy from www.a2zepharma.com. you can try from it. Good luck!
Avatar f tn ve been stable for 6 years on Seroquel and I learned how to use Trazadone as a sleep aide. The name brand is Desyrel generic is Trazadone. My doctor prescribes it as 50 mg and I can take one or two for insomnia. This prevents my mania, as it usaully starts out as not sleeping. I've heard of some people going 15 years without a manic episode. The right medication will prevent it and stay away from caffeine.
Avatar m tn I'm just asking this question as an addition to the previous question as i'm quite curious as to others past experiences as i'm up to max dose with the generic form, along with mirtazapine 45mg, but I still quite flat in mood, with little spontaniety and miss my normal self 'Zip' as otherwise I feel that it largely is working to a certain extent, but i'm still wanting more.
Avatar m tn Just home from my primary care doctor and he gave me a prescription for Generic Zoloft. I will give that a try. While my problem has different root than the original posting this thread, I offer my experience with a walk down the medication trail. Don't like to take drugs, but if the depression is severe that may be the best path forward. Don't know the cost, but "Generic" suggests lower cost.
Avatar f tn I have been having weird symptoms that i believe are related to taking the generic form of Levoxyl. Like heart racing, dizziness, shortness of breath, itching, irritability. Has any one else had any issues with this?
Avatar f tn My insurance company only pays for generic drugs when available as first option, however Cymbalta does not come in generic form from what I understand because I always buy generics but have never rec'd Cymbalta in generic form.
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
1801781 tn?1461629469 Can I ask what country you live in. I'm asking because I also take Lexapro and live in the states. I was not aware that is now available in generic form. I'm hoping for this as I have no health insurance and the cost is really high with this med. Sorry I could'nt answer your question. I hope you do well on it.
874521 tn?1424116797 Your pharmacist will tell you which generic brand your taking. As far as I know only malikroft is allowed to make the generic form of oxycontin. When you get a generic your RX bottle will list the name brand and the generic name under it.
Avatar n tn I stopped taking seroquel almost two weeks ago after tapering off and my sleeping problems are back. I took 200 mg a day and was sedated, and now I am energetic yet soon to go bonkers. I sleep for 4 hours every night and then I am up and running. This is effecting my stability, and I don't know what to do. It isn;t a life or death situation but I am afraid it will persist. I am on lithium and am trying to keep off sedatives, but I am prescribed imovane as well- if need be.
822153 tn?1333062995 Hi tomskat, I just posted on the depression forum that I noticed a difference in Prozac and the generic form (fluxientine sp?) Prozac worked wonderfully for me were the generic form didn't do me any good. I spoke with my doctor (not the one who perscribed either med to me) about this and she agreed and said the generic Prozac is not as effective. Hope this helps.
