Hey I just found out that I am pregnant.and I have depression anxiety and panic attacks.atfer first child, .found out that I have depression and a hard time sleeping . So they put me on a medication they put me on Seroquel.I've been on Seroquel for 7 years . Since I found out I'm pregnant they don't want me taking seroquel for depression and anxiety and panic attacks and it help me sleep.
is aware but percribes it for 3 x day because sometimes i would get panic attic in the day. But for a while i didnt take the xanax for about 2 years. I know its not withdrawal from the xanax because i already have stopped taking it before after taking it 3 xday for 2 years and never felt like this just alittle tried. and im taking the xanax now 1/2 in am, 1/2 in middle day and whole to sleep at night .25 mg.
I have had panic attacks before prior to taking Seroquel, however never constantly, and never for no reason at all. I would have a panic attack after a traumatic event, or when I smoked pot as a teenager, but otherwise I never had them. When I began taking straight Seroquel (I don't recall what the initial dosage was exactly but it was around 500-600 mg daily I think), I used to have panic attacks within a half hour of taking it.
I have been experiencing sort of a non-stop full blown panic attack for about 2 weeks. Dr. put me on Lamicatal and Seroquel. The Seroquel knocked me out the first night, but now I need lots more to fall asleep. For the life of me I cannot figure out what started this for me, I mean it is really bad.
Hello, I have suffered from gereralized anxiety and panic disorder for since I was 17 year old. When I was in my late teens, my triggers were large crowds, tight spaces, etc. Now that I'm in my early 30's, I still panic in large crowds and tight spaces, but now I've developed chronic panic attacks that happen around the time I am ready to fall asleep. I'm also someone who catastrophizes the littlest situation. I regularly see a psychiatrist & therapist who I love.
I have bipolar/panic disorder and every time I took seroquel I had a massive panic attack, ate a lot, then slept for 12+ hours. The longest I have ever slept on seroquel is 72 hours straight... it will knock you out. It also makes you feel sluggish and lethargic throughout the day... not even my Dexedrine helped. I've tried ambien, trazodone, and risperdal for sleep but the best medicine I've found is klonopin.
I use Cymblata for my anxiety and I find it really has helped me a lot.
If this is the case, then it is in my opinion not a bad choice, though some would argue there are better(safer) options due to the risk factors involved with the class of drugs to which Seroquel belongs. There are a number of other(*safer*) drugs that are being prescribed for sleeping issues which includes antihistamines such as Atarax/ Hydroxyzine or Phenergan/Promethazine or small doses of tricyclic drugs like Doxepin/Sinequan, Mianserin/Tolvon and many more.
I recently started on a starting dose of Prozac (10mg) on November 2nd (a little over a week ago), and I have been on 100mg of Wellbutrin for about a month now . I have been on 300mg of Seroquel for about two years now. My anxiety has been very bad since ending Zoloft, which is why my psych has started me on Prozac in addition to Wellbutrin. I also have semi-frequent panic attacks.
Still no sleep,I sleep only when I drop off without knowing,I saw my psychiatrist and he doubled my librium at night,but still I have the rapid thoughts when I close my eyes which leads to a panic attack,which leads to me on the couch watching TV afraid to sleep.We also talked about the multiple pain meds and any link they may have to my rapid thoughts at night.He also added celexa,so that makes a grand total of 9 medications I'm on for pain,panic attacks,depression and high blood pressure.
and i almost had a panic attack today when i went..was on my xanax just 1/2mg...the serquil i been up and down on the doses..was on 100mgs at bedtime for 2 yrs..but wasent helping me threw the daytime..so i see my family docter he has me on this serquil..he put me on 200mg xr,s 1 at bedtime,,took them for 3 days made me a zombie..so now i take 25mgs 1 4 times aday,,even this makes me groggy throughout the day.....i cant find a shrink to help me,,so my family doctors been helping me....
Xanax should only be taken occasionally when you are very anxious or having a panic attack. Xanax is very addictive like any benzodiazepine.
To answer to question directly, yes there is an interaction between Xanax and Seroquel. It is not a major interaction it is just like i said it's adding up to the sedative effect of Seroquel which, if taken in high dose or if you have a reaction , could lead into a respiratory depression.
Naturally I began to panic and had a full blown panic attack for 3-4 days, seroquel was no longer putting me to sleep and I felt crazy. Was prescribed dalmane for anxiety and sleep and that calmed me down, put the dissociation has continued. Ive been on seroquel before but on low doses and never consistently. And my psych has no idea what to do. He loves seroquel and doesnt believe in side effects. He thinks everything I tell him is anxiety induced..
