seroquel and vision

So i go get my meds refilled and the pharmacist tells me that I should be careful of Seroquel because it has been known to cause vision problems (reduced vision, etc) if taken over a long period of time. I asked him what a long period of time was and he told me 1 year. Is anyone else on Seroquel and been told the same thing?

i dont think im bp and the seroquel they put me on made me in a weird dream like state and a zombie. since the 3 months i have been on zoloft i have been great, few anxiety episodes and im driving again!! i was wondering if anyone has had that kind of reaction or experience.

My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.

I believe seroquel caused my eye problems. My vision kept getting worse and worse on seroquel and i just found out i have a serious eye disease called KERATOCONUS. It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. If anyone has eye problems on seroquel make sure you go to a cornea specialist and get checked fo KERATOCONUS. You could also give me a call at 8154822704.

I haven't been able to find anything on Seroquel and regarding my issue. Does my being 37 years old sound bizarre to have pigment mottling? My eye doctor only asked me if I had ever looked directly into an eclipse (which I have not). I have no idea how this came up and macular problems are not in my family that I know of.

i had a a ct, mri and spinal tap. the hospital took me off prestic, seroquel and lithium and the neurologist put me on lamital for both seizures and depression. also, i am taking invega and ativan for anxiety. the reason for my seizures is because of medicine. i lost my memory, use a cane and bit my tongue badly. caution: beware of anti-depressents--they can lower your seizure threshold. thank god i am getting better.

A genetics doctor looked up the information and studies and showed me that the Seroquel does not cause birth defects. There were some children that had heart problems or respitory problems. The indepth ultrasounds showed her lungs fully developed, that she has been practicing breathing, and that she has no heart defects. I painfully gave up the dream of having another child due to what happened in my first pregnancy. My major was Child Development so I love children.

I'm not sure if I'm diagonosed correctly with bi-polar disorder. Between March and now I've tried several different medications. One of my main issues is sleeping and I was prescribed Seroquel. I took 200mg for several months and finally told the pdoc that I wasn't happy with it because of the weight gain and skin (terrible breakouts) issues. He switched me on October 14th to Geodon. I took 40mg a day for two days and then was bumped up to 80mg.

Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.

And I m experiencing a feeling of being drunk . Sleepiness and less alertness with slightly blurred vision and mild loss of co ordination. Is it normal side effects and will it go away or should I change medications ? Please help .

I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.

My first pregnancy i did bot use it and my daughter is very smart. I was wondering if any of you have used seroquel and delivered a healthy baby.

My question I took my first dose of Seroquel XR last night and woke with small puffy area inside the 'bags' under my eyes they are still there 9 hours into the day - a non-work, no sun, low energy day (the bags are normal, puffiness is normal when I cry) but usually the whole 'bag' is swollen not just a part. They are not exactly the same size or in the same position, not red, itchy, hot or sensitive.

Hi. I am bipolar and currently taking Lithium, Neurontin, Seroquel & Lamictal. I have only been on the Lamictal for about 7 weeks, starting @ 25mg & every 2 weeks adding another 25mg; thus I am currently @ 100mg per day.

Every atypical antipsychotic has the potential of metabolic changes that can cause weight gain and on ocassion diabetes but if you eat a sensible diet and exercise that can be kept under control (that also includes the second issue, a person I knew developed pre-diabetes from Abilify and through weight loss, proper dieting and exercise and following up with his doctor was able to keep this in check).

The knowledge that I have is that xanax and Seroquel do not have an impact on your liver. Also 50 mgs of Seroqeul is very low dose. I am on 600. However it looks like you have hepatitis c and you probably know you shouldn't drink because of that. There are likely a lot of medications that effect your liver. The only ones I know of are Tylenol and pain medicines that contain acetaminophen, but I am sure there are likely a lot more.

Don't quit the Seroquel abruptly -- taper off it. It's interesting you were put on Seroquel and are suffering insomnia -- the only way Valdoxan supposedly works is by increasing the effectiveness of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles -- in other words, if it works at all for depression, and the evidence appears to be soft, it's by improving sleep.

How safe is 200 milligrams of seroquel while pregnant and nursing? Also, is it dangerous to cut the pills in half to take a lesser dose? Or should you cut or break the pills at all?

I was on seroquel. It was awful. I was mean WHEN i did awake. the doctor put me on 300mg and I had to sleep a full day on it. So they lowered it but then i slept a 1/2 day so then they put it on 50 and I wouldn't sleep and when I slept I was mean as ever. So I no longer take seroquel. its not good for me.

Three days later, the headache began to be accompanied by blurred vision, fatigue, and a feeling of almost intoxication. I returned to my primary, who ordered an M.R.I. of my brain, which returned normal, thank God. My symptoms persisted and increased in number, however.

I take 25mg seroquel at night and 200mg zoloft a day also. I plan on going to FL for vacation in July and when I get back I have to start Hep C treatments, I am going to drink one last time. Can I drink while Im on this med? I know that since I have been taking the seroquel I feel ALOT BETTER!! I was extremely depressed but now Im doin okay. I began taking atypical antipsychotics just over a year ago, and stopped just over a month ago. I have been on Risperdal, Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and Geodon, in that order. Risperdal caused me to have a grand mal seizure. I was only on it for a month or so, and I was taking a fairly low dose (I don't remember precisely how much). Neither Abilify and Seroquel lasted long because of unpleasant side effects (nausea and twitching/akathesia).

My main issue was the binge eating at night when i was on geodon and seroquel. Ive been on geodon for 10 years and eventually was On such a low dose 40 mg that I just quit cold turkey. I did up my seroquel to 400 mg to eliminate the withdrawls. (im quite the pharmacist) I have actually been loosing weight rapidly. So glad I found the right cocktail! i'm 29 its about damn time!!

I was aware Seroquel could cause cataracts when I took it in the past but I never got them and its rare but not unknown but just like when I got heart arrythmia from Geodon I had to change to something else. I believe your psychiatrist just means you have to stay on medication as for "working around it". But you could ask what antipsychotics don't cause cataracts and see if you could tolerate one of them.

m no expert, this is my opinion, but I do take Seroquel and have been on a long car and bus ride, and roller coasters lol)
