Now it is becoming a everyday problem. But no pain in the teeth.. will this sensitiveness go away..

Avatar m tn I had a root canal done in November of 2007 on a previously crowned tooth (upper, behind canine tooth). It is still a bit touchy when I press on it and more painful when I press on my gum above that tooth. This newly root-canaled tooth is next to this area on my upper palate which is causing me concern. Could the root canal be causing this to the hard palate? I am an ex-smoker and always worried about repercussions.
Avatar f tn My jaw swelled up and I had to have the tooth removed. This required me to get a bridge. The tooth for the back part of the bridge had a crown on it with a previous root canal from about 10 years ago. I had never had any problems with this tooth. Once the bridge was placed, I had severe sensitivity and pain from the back tooth. I've gone to the dentist several times and he always makes some excuse as to why it is hurting. Once, there was cement in the gum line.
Avatar f tn For years, I have suffered from sensitive teeth. The pain from cold objects literally drive me mad. One bad habit that I know is causing the sensitivity is my avid consumption of acidic drinks, which I am trying to give up. I have sought the services of a periodontist, who said that I have the beginning stages of periodontal disease.
Avatar f tn is there anything i can do to help the pain? i use sensitive tooth paste but it hasnt seemed to work much.
Avatar f tn I am having lots of symptoms which my GP diagnosed as TMJ but which are probably down to this tooth. I have now developed a very sensitive scalp (on both sides of my head) and wondered if the tooth could be causing that too?
Avatar n tn After the procedure was done I was feeling pain in my cheek (where the anesthesia was injected) and sensitivity in my tooth. I had trouble sleeping due to the pain. Today the tooth is no longer sensitive but I am paying close attention to it. My question is, was there really a need to crown the tooth instead of using an onlay? Not sure if I chose wisely, since it seems the extra drilling might have caused root sensitivity.
Avatar f tn I noticed that my gums are a but sensitive. my gums are a lil bit peeled in one spot its just a tiny dot as if I scraped or brushed too hard. Any suggestions? What can I do to strengthen my teeth & gums?
Avatar n tn I have severe sensitive teeth - my teeth look fantastic under x ray but the outside of the teeth under the gums burns and stings all the time and sometimes electric shocks if I eat sugar or drink tea - I can't talk or eat properly - opening my mouth and air causes pain.
Avatar f tn The second to the last molar on the right side of my mouth had an old filling and the tooth became sensitive when I would bite down. Just before I went to the dentist it became sensitive to hot and cold. He did a temporary filling putting in something to see if we could calm the nerve down but while he was drilling using a slow deep sounding and vibrating drill. I felt like I was going to have a seizure although I do not have epilepsy.
Avatar n tn I think I would place a temporary crown on the tooth that is most sensitive to percussion. If all is well after a period of time then a more permanent crown can be fabricated. If this does not work then you would have to consider the adjacent tooth or redoing the root canal on one or both.
Avatar f tn can you please suggest me, I have few questions to ask my mom she is around 42 years of age now last week she had nausea and vomitting at night and after that she was ok but again after a week she suffered from same symptom along with fatigue and she had sensitive tooth and gum changed in to mild purple mixed with mild black color she has no stomach pain but still I am very upset that she may suffering from early stage of cancer so can you please suggest me is this a symptom of cancer ......
Avatar f tn All the symptoms of still needing a root canal are there, such as percussion pain etc, and my tooth has a smell about it. So I have decided to have the root canal which I am having tomorrow. The issue is the tooth is sensitive when i push on the inside of the cusps, and I worry about a crack. After doing this if i push the other way I hear a slight crackling noise, as if there is a crack and the tow sides of the tooth are pushing back together. I am so worried that I have a split tooth.
Avatar n tn With an increased frequency I have noted heat sensitivity for the tooth with the crown. I have also been having an slightly achey jaw. My dentist said my pockets are fine - x ray appears normal. Would antibiotics solve this problem or does it appear I'll need to get the crown taken off and another root canal done? Thanks for your responses.
Avatar n tn It aches on and off during the day and night (i live on ibuprofen to help dull the pain). The crowned tooth and now even the surrounding teeth are sensitive to hot/cold and bitter/sweet. Teeth around the crown have shifted and are our of alignment. If I rinse with salt water, it hurts. It is soooo sensitive. What could be wrong?
Avatar n tn I damaged my ll5 with the above crown causing trauma to ll5....
Avatar n tn Hi, I had an accident on my ll5 with the porcellain crown above and it must have trapped a nerve because when i had it removed the same pain went to ll4, i am seeing a specialist as it feels like something is pushing on my ear, the tooth is very sensitive to very hot and very cold so I was hoping to get it root treated to remove the nerve in tooth......the symptoms are horrible sucking sound in mouth, toxins and a blocked ear usually after 2 x colds......
Avatar n tn I went to the dentist and she thought my bite was off. The tooth was extremely sensitive to cold. She adjusted my bite even though she was unable to numb me. It got worse. The bite was off so much it was somewhat unbelievable. I woke up one morning and the tooth felt like it had moved or something - it was unbearably painful. The dentist (a different dentist, same practice - general dentists) prescribed antibiotics. That seemed to work.
Avatar m tn After x- rays, probing, and visual inspection, the dentist made an occusal adjustment to a tooth (second from rear, bottom right side). One day later, the pain still persists. Also have sensitive scalp on right side and intermittent earache. What could be causing this?
1806721 tn?1554333407 I've had a root canal and an extraction/implant done many years ago. Recently, my tooth pain came back to bother me and it's sensitive to hot/cold water. Yesterday, all of a sudden, I came down with flu-like symptoms - fever (101+), shivering chills, severe body aches and headache, loss of appetite. I don't have other cold symptoms like nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, etc. My fever broke earlier today.
Avatar f tn i brush and floss daily adn everything amd i use the sensitive tooth paste. if anyone has this happeneding any idea why or how did u deal with it Thank you ladies. I just dont want to go ot the dentist as im terrified that it will hurt my baby :0( Thank you.
Avatar f tn The throbbing pain stopped, but the tooth is still sensitive to pressure after 6 weeks, and I called to see if they thought that a root canal was needed. All the symptoms of still needing a root canal are there, such as percussion pain etc, and my tooth has a smell about it. So I have decided to have the root canal which I am having tomorrow. The issue is the tooth is sensitive when i push on the inside of the cusps, and I worry about a crack.
Avatar n tn when you had the root canal was the nerve actually damaged or dying or did they remove a completely vital nerve just to try and stop your symptoms? if you have a cracked tooth even one so small it doesnt appear on an xray it could be difficult to pin down exactly which tooth it is. get a second opinion before spending money on a second root canal!
Avatar n tn The pain is so severe that I will wake up in the middle of the night and can do nothing to ease the pain. My teeth have also been very sensitive, even to drink a cold drink or hot tea. I have recently had a couple of cavities filled but this did not start untill a couple of weeks after so Im not sure if they are connected or not. Even if they are connected I had a filling on the top left and the bottom right, the pain is all along my entire lower jaw.
