Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive teeth using sensitive toothpaste

teeth

Avatar f tn Thanks :) I went to the dentist and he said that it's because of the various hormones. He specifically said that the baby wasn't taking calcium from me. I've been using toothpaste made for sensitive teeth and that's been helping. I have been craving milk like crazy this pregnancy so I've been getting plenty of calcium.
Avatar n tn You can call your dentist and ask for a prescription of Prevident toothpaste, which is a high content fluoride toothpaste that may help and go on a fluoride rinse as well. I haven't heard of clothing affected the sensitivity of teeth before. Is it possible that you've been conditioned to get a sensation of sensitivity when seeing or wearing that particular material?
Avatar f tn Sensitive.. Not sinusitis..

232921 tn?1224471661 I, too, have been suffering with sores in my mouth and very sensitive teeth since I started tx. Brushing my teeth burns my mouth, I hate it, and that is using sensodyne toothpaste. I have never had problems with my teeth before this. Anyway, as with many of the sx, during and after tx, here is hoping that they go away soon.
Avatar f tn Try using sensitive toothpaste it is very normal to have sensitive teeth during pregnancy just make sure your taking really good care of your teeth while your pregnant because your baby is taking a lot of the calcium to help with that, so try the sensitive toothpaste if that doesn't seem to help contact your dentist they may have something stronger to help :)
Avatar n tn I would prefer to keep on using Sensodyne-F, since I have sensitive teeth, and my dentist recommended it for me (and it has helped a great deal). But, my teeth aren't white, and I would love to help fix that with brushing. So, I would like to know the main common ingredients to both the Sensodyne and the Crest whatever Cinnamon Whitening toothpastes. And what is so different in the Arm and Hammer sensitive whitening toothpaste?
Avatar f tn My teeth have become increasingly more sensitive. I'm 30 weeks. Has that happened to anyone else?
917763 tn?1311628896 My dentist gave me a prescription toothpaste (Colgate PreviDent 5000 Sensitive). I was told to just rub some onto the painful teeth between brushings when needed. Don't swallow the toothpaste, it has a lot of fluoride, but it really did help. My gums became very inflamed. I had my teeth cleaned about 3 mos after starting tx and the hygienist recommended I return for another cleaning in 2 mos (which I did) because there was such a noticeable change in the health of my gum tissue.
Avatar f tn Few months ago a lady posted...a helpful way to brush your teeth without all the nausea and puking...it actually helped a lot....use very little toothpaste. .don't lean over the sink..stand up straight...and smile while brushing your teeth....I did it and actually stopped puking while attempting to brushy teeth...
Avatar n tn I have severe sensitive teeth - my teeth look fantastic under x ray but the outside of the teeth under the gums burns and stings all the time and sometimes electric shocks if I eat sugar or drink tea - I can't talk or eat properly - opening my mouth and air causes pain.
889592 tn?1262092244 What works best for me is sensidine toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
Avatar n tn Hello , im 20 years old and me and my husband are 15 weeks pregnant with our first baby and I was wondering if any of you ever had really sensitive teeth with your pregnancies? I've been bruching twice a day and using mouth wash once a day and flossing onece a day but just this week and especially since yesterday my bottom teeth have been so sensitive and they hurt even if I breathe through my mouth, drink water with no ice or anything too hot or cold. Is this normal?
316002 tn?1246553137 You could ask your dentist about it, or switch to a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
Avatar n tn ( did anyone else have this problem when they were the week I'm in today
Avatar f tn Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can help me. I suffer with a lot of acid reflux due to a small hiatus hernia. The acid often enters my mouth, and as of late, my teeth have become extremely sensitive, and a slight yellowish colour. I'm only 18, and I have fairly healthy teeth otherwise, and do brush my teeth morning and night.
Avatar m tn Conventional gums hurt my sensitive teeth and gums, anyone know of a gum that is ok for sensitive teeth? Thank you kindly.
Avatar f tn My teeth were so sensitive with my first i went to the dentist for a checkup and cleaning and it was torture! Soo painful. This time they are not quite as sensitive. Try using a sensitive toothpaste. It can help with the cracked tooth. You can even dab a bit on the tooth for some quick relief.
Avatar n tn I think it would be a good idea to have your dentist check the tooth. It may have an infection that had nothing to do with the RS&P. If everything looks OK, try using toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Many times a deep cleaning like you get with and RS&P will expose some of the dentin. There are tiny tubules in the dentin that lead to the nerve. The toothpaste will help fill in the tubules and stop the pain sensation from reaching the nerve.
Avatar f tn Could the potassium nitrate in toothpaste for sensitive teeth be enough to cause palpitations? I have used it for quite a while and ran out about a month ago. When I bought toothpaste got regular by mistake and used the whole tube. During this time my palps were the best they have been in a LONG time. Hardly even noticed anything. Ran out of toothpaste, bought the sensitive stuff and after about a week I'm flipping and flopping all over the place again.
Avatar f tn A periodontist is a gum specialist. A gum surgeon. Load up on Coq10 and vitamin C for a week and see if you're better. Sounds like your immune system is running on low. When my gums became really sensitive I began using Sensodyne toothpaste. One week later the pain was GONE and I've been using it for 20 years just like my mother. But the bleeding is another matter and shows a vitamin deficiency.
Avatar n tn The past few weeks they have been very sensitive when it comes to rinsing my mouth with cold water after brushing. So much so that I started using warm water to do so. I have discovered that they each have a ridge along the very top on the front side of the tooth. Above the ridge, if touched with a finger, is extremely sensitive. None of my other teeth have this particular ridge or sensitivity issue. Thank you so much for your help.
Avatar m tn I may have loosened a couple of teeth during that time. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth also helps, but not all are equal. The dental office next door gives me samples of Tom's natural kids toothpaste that I really like and is irritation free.. I carry a travel bottle of biotene in my purse just in case. Also if you haven't already try to stay away from the manual toothbrushes because they can really irritate the gum line on tx.
Avatar f tn My teeth are very sensitive now and gums too. My mother and grandmother said to drink a lot of milk to get a lot of calcium because the baby ***** that right out of you along with everything else haha. My grandma even lost two back teeth because of being pregnant._.
Avatar m tn I will suggest you to use sensitive toothpaste as your teethes are super sensitive type.
