Sensitive skin lip balm

Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive skin lip balm

Avatar n tn I have very dry skin and now my lips are sensitive and get chapped all the time. No sores but lip is feeling strange.
Avatar n tn At the same time, he has had a case of angular cheilitis which is not resolving with lip balm application (he has never had either of these conditions before). He is wondering if these are at all related, and if it is possible that he contracted something on his trip. I suspect it may be a mild fungal infection, but not sure if that's very likely on penis skin without taking antibiotics or having some other inciting cause.
Avatar n tn I can touch it (placing pressure on skin) but any friction and it's sensitive and uncomfortable. Now, I'm 29, not stressed (in fact, I meditate often), but I have knots in my back (from dancing/doing theatre) and quite possibly have carpal tunnel coming back to my right arm (I have knots in the muscles surrounding my elbows, and down my lower arm) - to me, I'm considering that I have a pinched nerve which is creating this sensitivity.
Avatar m tn Hello there, Over the last 2 and a half years I have been dealing with this ongoing problem. The skin on my bottom lip becomes dry and will peel off in sheets. Its only my bottom lip, and only in the area that is exposed to the elements. By that i mean if you were to close your mouth, the part of your bottom lip that you can still see. The skin on my lip is dry and flakey, i can peel it off in sheets up to the size of raisin, and usually the same spot multiple times a day.
Avatar f tn I live in cold climate and have sensitive skin. I could peel of the little patch on lip and another would appear in 2-3 days. It is now 2 1/2 month and it is finally gone. It dawn on me that I was eating almonds which I love and had been eaten them for a month. I stopped 2 1/2 weeks ago t My scaly skin and lip patch is gone. I have milk allergy and the problem is an allergy from almonds. There is probably an ellergy involved.
Avatar n tn It's like snake changing skin constantly. Vaseline, lip balm, organic or natural, ointment, even the cream given by doctors, only cause the situation to go worse. Whenever I apply these cream, it goes perfect for the first & second day. Smooth and kissable. On 2nd or third day, starting to feel numb or somewhat painful. Smilling is difficult since i cant stretch the upper lips. Days later, it cracks, bleed, disgustingly, it swollen and have some weird discharge from the lips.
Avatar n tn I also have shown some irritation to products with petrolatum. Neosporin daily lip treatment, Palmers lip balm, Aquaphor, and Blistex lip renewal seem to help but don't completely alleviate the symptoms. Neosporin night treatment, carmex, vasoline, chapstick, burts bees, other blistex have all made the symptoms worse! With all of those products I have experienced the red swollen, peeling lips. Please keep posting anything that you've tried that helps!
Avatar f tn I'll also add that ive tried the Elidel, with no postive affect. My lip skin pigment goes beyond my lipline while the pain, sensetivity, peeling is getting bad to worse..... I havnt kept a record of how long or how often it lasts......but its too long, like months, and couple times a yr...I do have to use a lip balm all yr round... I use the unmedicated "Burts Bees" on a regular basis. The medicated anything is just too painful.
Avatar n tn hi, i have a similar lip skin patch, have had it for about a week. did you ever find out what was going on with yours? did it resolve on its own?
Avatar n tn If not, you could go to the ER or consult your doctor - you would then need injectable antiallergic and steroid medications for your symptoms. Are you allergic to any specific substances? Apply a medicated lip balm with sun screen to help with the lesions. Drink plenty of water and consult your skin specialist if the lesions persist. You should also ask your buy friend to consult a doctor if his symptoms persist. A confirmed diagnosis would need a clinical examination of the lesions.
Avatar n tn It eventually went away, leaving sensitive and easily irritated skin below my lip. Then it started itching again, dry flaky skin under the lip, lip cracking and dry. I don't think it is bacterial because it keeps coming back, but not cold sores, no blisters; I don't think my doctor knows what it is. I work alot around a shop full of flying fiberglass dust, thought maybe I rubbed my lip with this dust on my hand and caused a reaction, but not really sure.
1044846 tn?1253526508 I DO have very, very sensitive skin. I can't use any salycylic acid containing acne products and wear sensitive-skin makeup. Help please?
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms it looks like contact dermatitis to the toothpaste and eczema. It can also be due to post inflammatory hypopigmentation after using the toothpaste. Stop using the toothpaste and use hypoallergenic products. Post inflammatory hypopigmentation is very difficult to treat but sometimes it goes away on its own after exposure to the sun. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn (also its best to do this before bed as you sleep you don't open and or move your mouth much if at all and gives your mouth more time to heal and seal up for this process (and fear not IT WILL) but at the start of your day or if it gets bad you can begin by brusing your teeth and rinsing out with mouth wash ( i know it hurts like a mother when it cracks the sides but you gotta super clean everything to start this off, and once you do it will heal up quicker than you can imagine (like lookig bet
Avatar n tn So frustrating because no amount or type of lip balm seemed to help (vaseline lip therapy, body shop lip salve, etc etc). Additionally, the skin above my upper lip became dry, red and irritated. About 2-3 weeks after that, I started experiencing swollen eyelids as well as dry, wrinkled, red, itchy patches above and below my eyes. I could not apply the most mild lotion to those areas because it would burn, but it was so dry I wanted to do something.
Avatar n tn Oddly enough, I was using the KIEHL'S products on my face (moisturizing cleanser, herbal toner, make-up remover, eye treatment, regular moisturizer with SPF, and lip balm with SPF)during the period when the first signs of pigmentation occurred so I discontinued and noticed that my lips are slowly getting back to normal. To add I'm not on medication, birth control (was using shot 2yrs ago for 2 yrs.
Avatar n tn Do you use soap to cleanse your face or something else? What brand of blush do you use ? Do you use a lip stick or a lip balm ? What brand of shampoo do you use ? When you wash your hair and rinse it in the shower, the shampoo can go in your ears and on your face. Have you ever been to see a dermatologist about your red, itchy and burning skin. If you haven't , you might consider this. Where I live you need a referral from your doctor in order to be seen by a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn I tried that very early on and it makes it worse since it's a sensitive area, the skin doesn't become smooth just exfoliating it's need to be healed. Ah I really don't know it just flares up every now and then, it's just there you could say. It doesn't itch at all although it used to.
Avatar f tn -clean with hydrogen peroxide -clean with apple cider vinegar -clean with sea salt water -treat with ajowan essential oil -treat with propolis -treat with tea tree essential oil -treat with mild hydrocortisone cream -protect with aloe vera and petroleum jelly balm -began taking b complex These treatments have been helping the corners heal, but i'm now experiencing tingling, itchiness and redness on the whole of my lip (evenly) - and when i apply the propolis balm, small droplets of moisture f
Avatar f tn ive researched it but cant seem to figure out what it is and now im worried becouse it seems to be spreading but only on the skin in and around my tattoo. these spots look like if you had a mosquito bite that you never stopped scratching. my skin around it seems to feel a little thicker and kind of numb. they are flat and not bumpy. anyone have anything like this or any idea about it.
Avatar n tn In the last 6 months or so I have noticed that about 20 minutes after I brush my teeth, a small amount of dead skin accumulates on the inside of my lower lip. It's very white when gathered in one spot but pretty clear when stretched apart. It's not painful, it's more uncomfortable for me to either have to spit it out or slide my finger between my teeth/gums, and my lower lip to extract it. Is there something that I need to be worried about?
Avatar n tn I have found that using an over the counter lip balm Carmex, helps. I put some on a cotton swab, smear it all over, covering the sore area. With in hours, the "scabs" start healing and coming off. I do this everytime it starts to flare up. I get a balm in my purse, car bathroom and desk.
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar f tn My lips now are also dry and a bright red like I have lip liner on. Ive tried lip balm, blistex, petroleum jelly, lotion.....EVERYthing and nothing works! It soaks it up (I guess) but it stays there. I've had this before but not this bad and I love spicy food which now brings me to tears because it burns. I wish there was a moisturizer I could use that will make it all go away!
Avatar n tn I went over a list in my mind of what had recently came in contact with my lips. Food? Nothing out of the ordinary. Lip balm? Use a new lip balm when I go to bed. Bingo. I usually use Chapstick or Carmex but the store was out of Chapstick and couldn't find the Carmex. Bought Blistex instead. Kept applying it to my lips before figuring it out. I am using old reliable, Carmex, now but I don't know. I still have them.
Avatar n tn ( My sister has pretty bad allergies and sensitive skin (she can only use certain detergents and soaps) Maybe that's whats happening to me even though I haven't changed anything except my mascara.
Avatar f tn I tried to remove one with tweezers, and it was very tacky (as in sticky) and clearly goes deep under the skin. Part of it broke off but I could still see that the pore was plugged and a day or two later top of the plug was sticking out again. i can't find ANYTHING online that looks like it.
Avatar f tn Yes what Teko said, And try using Aveeno Intense Relief Therapy Lip Balm. I love it. My lips get really dry in the winter and my boyfriend introduced me to this one he uses and I've fallen in love with this lip balm. I use nothing else and it's nice. Aquafina lip care is good too. but nothing like Aveeno. I hope this helps you.
Avatar m tn i had previously soaked them with vinegar and then they turned white and cauliflower shape, and then very slightly raised. I then attacked them with a stick of salicylic acid (in a lip balm container) 40% solution. dabbing them every hour or so for a couple days. then i read that was a bad idea so i stopped that. by now i am sure the skin was nice a soft/weak. I then downgraded my attack to acetic acid in the form of Apple cider vinegar.
