Avatar n tn If you cannot show her the video of herself, then I would ask her who her doctor is, and SEND HIM A COPY OF THE VIDEO and ask him/her to please help you! Or show it to your own doctor and ask what he/she thinks is the next course of action. Good luck, and please keep us informed. Thanks.

Avatar f tn Hello. You have done a good job by bringing this to the forum. There is a possibility of a partial seizure. But you should also consider something called as eye tics. These are not so uncommon in infants. You may need to get an EEG done. A video EEG is preferred. It has the advantage of letting us see the brain waves during such an episode or up rolling of eyes. Did he have any significant birth complications?
Avatar m tn I have a 7-year old who about last year in Kindergarten started displaying odd behavior of zoning out. We first noticed this behavior when doing homework and reading. I think it has gotten worse into 1st grade. And i have witnessed this behavior not just during studying/learning/reading times but also while she plays video games and on the soccer field in action. She'll just stop and leave reality for a few seconds followed by a few seconds of disorientation before figuring out where she is.
Avatar n tn t look at any of them for more than a few minutes before having a seizure. It is very plausible that he could have seizures from playing video games for that amount of time if he is photo sensitive.
Avatar n tn She said she had about 15-90 seconds where she felt like she was falling into a seizure, then it would take control. Once she was locked into the seizure, it would last for anywhere from 20 seconds to 90 seconds. We realized if we made her snack and kept her from getting hungry it really helped. She got to the point where she recognized the onset of the initial symptoms.
Avatar f tn Partner had a stroke april 21 but only this last 6mths she has had 1/2 episodes where she has gone to laugh and had one i would describe as a seizure - she stares and goes red as though struggling to breath then 10ish secs later she is absolutely fine- anyone else had similar
Avatar m tn Under certain circumstances this can precipitate an actual epileptic seizure. Or a medical condition somewhat short of a complete seizure. The same thing can happen from the flickering of sun through an aircraft propeller blade. Certain animations and CRT configurations exacerbate this phenomena. The "flicker" affects the brain. How exactly a seizure is induce is not clear. This medical problem has been well-documented and researched.
Avatar f tn My husband is 30 and yesterday had a severe seizure. His body tensed up, and his eyes rolled in the back of his head and then he started compulsiving and spitting up. I believe this was a seizure. After wards he became very combative and was very confused. He doesn't remember the seizure at all. The doctor said that it was due to substances abuse.

1007660 tn?1250535439 I have a 14 month old son he goes Monday back to the neurologist office to see if he is have the seizures, does anyone know of any behavior problems with children having these types or any other types of seizures? Looking for some help in trying to figure out what poor little guy is going through but he has been getting very frustrated and angry at just about anything I try to do for him. He is very delayed so he has little to no communication skills at this point other than acting out.
Avatar m tn I was told by the specialist in Phila., PA, that since my Video/Audio EEG monitoring showed no true "epileptic activity" on the monitoring, that it had to be NES. I hv pain & discomfort originally on left side head down to toes. I feel likr my body joints are rubber like and very flexible after a seizure with all of the activity that had taken place. I have numbness and tingling regularly. I want to thank you for your input.
Avatar f tn I could literally see it in my arm, it was actually fluctuating almost like viabrating, id describe it as a mini seizure. I have absolutely no clue why this is happening, but its recently been happening a lot to my neck and back. If anyone could shed a bit of light on this, that would be great. Thanks for reading this.
Avatar f tn of Dilantin and have not had any grand mal seizures since, however I have experienced other types of seizures. My husband seems to think that I have had these other types of seizures between the times of the grand mal seizures, we just didn't know what they were then. I do experience auras with smells and vision changes.
Avatar f tn My disorder is called Simple-Partial seizures with Aura. The symptoms are much like those of a severe panic attack only panic attacks don't have the Aura. The aura is where you start feeling REALLY weird like your going to go crazy, feel like your going to die right before you seizure, limbs with pins and needles, numbness, especially in my lips/face, headache, my muscles will burn, freezing, profuse sweating, and this could last all day before I have a seizure in the evening.
386392 tn?1207257183 How can I tell the difference between having a nightmare or a seizure? I have a weakness down my left hand side affecting my arm and leg my physio thinks ive had a stroke. I have had ear problems for years now but was told my balance organ was not working in my right ear but was able to self correct 6 months ago. The ENT doctor I saw 6 months ago thinks it may be Minieres disease but has not seen me since I was admitted to hospital.
Avatar f tn Your seizure frequency is such that your quality of life is likely affected by your epilepsy, and although you have not provided a description of your seizure types, based on the fact that MGH felt you were a surgical candidate, it sounds like there was a suspicion for localized seizure focus that would be amenable to resection. Unfortunately, you had a bit of a mishap with your first attempt at subdural grids.
486038 tn?1300063367 Do I need to seek testing? I have had several possible seizure last fall, they ranged from several seconds (were I would just stare in space and not speak) to several minutes (where I had an aura before had that felt like something washed over me and then I was seperated or a bit detached and I could not speak and afterwards had a terrible headache) and these were witnessed by my mom.
Avatar f tn Then I went to another neurologist who had me do another long term video eeg. I had a seizure on it which did not show up on the eeg and did not possess any resemblance to epileptic seizures. I had just been kicked out of school due to the fact that my seizures were "disturbing to the other students". After that, I went and saw a psychologist who kept changing the reasons for my seizures. I stopped seeing him after he began trying to sell me his "stress tapes".
Avatar f tn at the time he was playing a video game. we found out this day that he had a smaller type seizure at a friends house about a month ago that he did not tell us about. during both times he was playing video games. he also complains of periodic headaches, but they are not bad. EMS was called and he was taken to the ER. at first they did a cat scan with contrast that was normal. the next morning they did an MRI with contrast. they found a 1.1cm right temporal lobe 'lesion'.

Avatar f tn There is a condition called psychogenic nonepileptic seizure (PNES) in which there are sudden and time-limited disturbances of motor, sensory, autonomic, cognitive, and/or emotional functions, these are psychogenically determined. Other conditions mimicking seizures are conversion disorder, panic attacks and migraine attacks. Sometimes a video EEG may be recommended which records EEG pattern during a particular time period. It is also advisable to rule out preeclampsia.
Avatar n tn Plus now we just got married and I can notice it more. However, in March, I made a video, he was using his new cell phone and his eyelids, eyebrows, & index finger were twitching, while this was happening his eyes moved to the right or left lets say. I do not know if he moves his eyes also involuntarily or just because it bothers him that this involuntary movements are happening. He doesn't like talking about his health problems.
Avatar n tn There is a condition called migralepsy.A video EEG may be able to help differentiate a seizure aura from a migraine aura.I am not sure how sensitive and how specific this test is but it may shed some light on your daughter's condition.
