seizure

Avatar f tn some people got headaches from the injections, one person had a seizure, and others were helped. I would die to get some help for this horrible pressure/tightness around my forehead, on top of my head, and around my eyes, and around the incision from the craniotomy. But I worry about seizures...the last thing I want is to trigger a seizure, considering my medical history, and liklihood of recurring seizures. Has anyone had any experience with botox?? Any help is appreciated....

564065 tn?1216314613 I was thinking seizure-free, but some people would probaly like to keep track of their seizures.
Avatar m tn I don't think people who have a seizure remember the seizure, but he definitely had something. Maybe it's a thyroid problem. He needs to be seen, but an ER is the slowest, most expensive and least efficient way to do it.
704609 tn?1228738656 For the seizure tracker I would like a tracker that could keep track of how often i have seizures and also a way to keep track of the type of seizure the person has. I have four different types of seizures plus I have auras. Also a place to note whether an injury occured from the seizure would be nice. I have given myself concussions from the worst seizures. I also take xanax when I get an aura (when I feel a bad seizure coming on) so a way to track that would also be nice since it is related.
Avatar n tn Infections and fever can make an otherwise healthy individual more prone to have a seizure. a single episode of seizure cannot be marked as epilepsy. An EEG to ensure that there are no structural abnormalities in brain. Normal EEG and MRI brain are encouraging though this does not rule out a future episode. You need to consult a physician for investigating any underlying infectious condition, high or low blood sugar, injury, electrolyte imbalance, drug withdrawal syndrome etc.
Avatar f tn There are some that involve staring off and only last a minute or two. Some involved stiffening of the body only. Google seizure types. The only way to tell if it is a true seizures is having an eeg within 24 hours of the seizure, it will show abnormal brain activity. My brothers seizures always show in the right temporal lobe of the brain. His are controlled now with antiseizure meds. If you have seizures pregnancy can make them worse. You need to see a neurologist for proper diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Could be a panic attack, but it also sounds like you may have had a seizure. There are many different types of seizures, and all the symptoms you described are things that can and do happen during a seizure. I would definitely go to the doctor about this.
536029 tn?1213648108 then 8 months ago i developed these seizure types and a burning itchy feeling all over my body.they thought it was pseudo fits at first until they had a video of it then said it wasnt..any ideas please i cant cope with it all any longer.
Avatar f tn Primary Generalized Seizure, Absence Seizure, Atypical Absence Seizure, Myoclonic Seizure, Atonic Seizure, Tonic Seizure, Clonic Seizure, Tonic-Clonic Seizure, Partial Seizure, Simple-Partial Seizure, Complex-Partial Seizure, Secondary Generalized Seizure, Psychogenic Seizure, and Hypoxic Seizure.
Avatar m tn If it is arteritic then large doses of oral cortison are needed to get the sed rate down. The section on emedicine is especially good. If its non-arteritic there is no treatment for the eye problem and visual recovery is usually good. Again emedicine entry is excellent.
Avatar f tn Hi there. There are different types of epilepsy with different characteristics like grand mal epilepsy you have tonic clonic generalized muscle contractions, frothing, unconsciousness, twitches, metal confusion, some may lose bladder and bowel control, usually preceded by an aura of impending seizure. aura is a strange feeling of muscle stiffening, hearing weird sounds, smelling strange smells etc.
Avatar n tn You are on a high dose now, so tapering slowly and switching to klonopin at the end and some anti seizure medication the very last week is what you have to do, and have all of this monitored closely by your doctor. I would suggest tapering in phases...phase one getting down to the 1 -2 mgs level/day, and learning how to sleep without xanax, maybe substituting some short term use of ambien if necessary.
Avatar f tn That may be some form of a minor seizure as well (there are multiple classes of seizures of course) as a person does not have to lose consciousness during a seizures. A person can have different types of seizures, not just the specific ones they were diagnosed with. Best to speak to a neurologist and they could do tests such as EEG's to see what is happening during those staring spells to see if its some form of seizure and then decide from there how to treat it.
Avatar m tn s a very complicated disease and not easy to describe. I suggest you do internet search on WebMD or emedicine and see if you have any further questions. Starbursts are not a common symptoms in AZOOR and more suggestive of cataracts, cornea problems, need for glasses or new glasses RX or macular problems.
542335 tn?1215050679 Blepharochalasis". This is from emedicine: Blepharochalasis syndrome is separate and distinct from dermatochalasis and is a rare disorder that typically affects the upper eyelids. It is characterized by intermittent eyelid edema, which frequently recurs. This results in relaxation of the eyelid tissue and resultant atrophy. In approximately 50% of patients, it is unilateral. This syndrome can be separated into early and late phases.
Avatar m tn I have tried to cold turkey my way out of taking fioricet 3-4 times a day, this caused me to have a very bad mental break down. My fear is that I will have a seizure, I have delt with someone else having a medication withdrawal seizure (tonic-clonic, or clonic tonic I forget what the order is) and that dreadful noise is forever stuck in my head!
1653487 tn?1303524162 Those who are best will send you to an epi if they feel it is necessary. Mixing seizure meds, knowing which ones to use (keeping in mind there are over 40 types of seizures--epilepsy is being referred to by some as a spectrum disorder), epis tend to better know the ins and outs, and various types of cocktails known to help with different types of seizures. It's an art. So, good luck to you, and keep me posted. Send me an e-mail if you choose, whatever.
Avatar f tn Try magnesium. Calcium contracts and magnesium relaxes the muscles. Magnesium levels are lowest at night. Look for "ate" for types of magnesium. Eg: citrate, glycinate, taurate, chelate. Magnesium oxide is cheap and poorly absorbed.
431644 tn?1236899573 I don't know whether it is proven that there is a genetic predisposition, but they certainly run pretty strong in my family. The types of arrhythmias also seem to be consistent - one type on my dad's side and one on my mom's. However, the great majority of the people in my family have lived to their 90s and 100s, and even the ones that had to have more treatment are doing well and able to stay active. I don't have children, but many of my cousins have the condition.
1029105 tn?1252162547 So lately I have been becoming more & more unable to do normal things b/c of bizzare symptoms? Esp when I'm at rest late at night, very tired, in a car, t.v in the dark & loud noises. I get completely dizzy & feel like my brain is freaking out. I can't control anything in my mind when this happens. My heart beats out of my chest & I loose muscle strength almost completely in my right side.
