Avatar f tn My son is serving 30 days in jail and they choose not to give him Loritab, Kolonipin, Neurontin, or even Motrin 800mg. They are going to give him nothing. We know he is addictted to these drugs afte 5 years. The Kolonopin they switched from Xanax and Valium, the Loritab they have alternated with the Oxycontin, the muscle relaxer and sleeping pill we did not even try for.
Avatar f tn My vet says at her age we should wait and see if another seizure occurs. In his opinion if it only happens every six months then theres no need for her to be medicated 365 days a year. I miss her. This dog was overly alert, excellent sight, radar, never missed anything, Could jumb and scale our 6 ft privacy fence, loved to play, ran with my husband, etc....
Avatar n tn He had a blood sugar of 73 when the paramedics tested him, but they feel that had risen due to the seizure activity. They felt that his blood sugar had been much lower. He was put on seizure watch for 1 week to make sure it was not a different condition. He hasn't had one since. It is a very scary experience. He does not remember the seizure at all.
220917 tn?1309788081 Those are my objective 'signs.' I have lots of 'symptoms.' I have had episodes of severe leg weakness, that left me unable to walk. Still, I can't get a Dx, because I don't have lesions that show up on an MRI. Maybe I don't have MS, but I have something. I want to start treatment, before these legs get worse. Last night was a shocker, kind of scary. I thought I was done with those nights. To quote you quoting me, "Oy." I just realized your event was Sept 2.

Avatar n tn Thank you for your information on Temporal Lobe Seizure. My son does show some signs of internal anger and does not know how to get it out. Therefore he does at times lash out at others. His memory is bad and he is not focused. I did send him immediately to his pediatrician and he has been diagnosed with ADD and has been put on Adderall. He shows absolutely no signs of hyper activity though. This should take care of the class and memory part.
Avatar f tn He crosses his legs and lifts them up. His whole body becomes very stiff and rigid. When I try to get his attention, he is not aware at all. This symptom usually lasts between 30 seconds to a minute. His mom says that at home he does the same thing. Once the episode is over, he continues to do what he was doing. Sometimes he is a little disoriented. His mother says that many times he seems real sleepy and he asks to go to sleep. There are times when he puts one of his hands in his groin area.
Avatar n tn I get this weird feeling come over me for no reason with the symptoms of tunnel vision, blurred vision.
Avatar n tn I'm thrilled to read your post! I'm looking for a cause for my problem, and while doctors are currently contemplating a possible heart-related cause, a friend (a doctor) recently suggested "focal seizure" or partial seizure. In the typical list of symptoms of partial seizure, the sufferer is said to be unable to speak or has involuntary movements. That is not me. I remain able to take my pulse and take stock of other symptoms, plus describe what's happening, as it's happening.
Avatar n tn mostly at night (laying down seems to effect something). Nothing shows up on EEG.... Lots of weird symptoms. if anyone knows of a good reference of symptoms could you post the URL please? I am only now looking into the symptoms.. it has quickly gotten much worse this year. Having a difficult time understanding all that can be affected by this disease.I have it due to Psuedotumor Cerebri. Thanks! Also wondered if having Chiari makes you at greater risk for injury if you hit your head.
Avatar n tn ) 5 days ago my son, who is now 7 years and 4 months had a complex febrile seizure at school. My son has not had a seizure for at least 2 1/2 years. (He is scheduled to see a pediatric neorologist. Have you ever seen any correlation between a similiar problem like this? They are 2 different areas of medicine, I know...I just don't know what to think.
Avatar n tn unconscous for at least 5 mins, slight jerking of leg, arms generally above the head with one hand gripping the other arm tightly, moaning and a small amount of grunting - also some picking of clothing or constantly picking of duvet. Issuing words that do not mean anything. Total lack of awareness, with eyes mostly open. Biting of tongue on both sides, a small amount of clucking. What type of seizures are they most likely to be and how is it best to treat them until neurology appt.
Avatar n tn Lack of glucose energy to the brain can cause symptoms ranging from headache, mild confusion, and abnormal behavior, to loss of consciousness, seizure, and coma. Severe hypoglycemia can cause death. Symptoms of hypoglycemia occur at different levels of blood glucose in different patients. In most healthy individuals, symptoms of hypoglycemia may not occur until the glucose level drops below 45 mg/dl.
Avatar n tn this is generally not as effective as the first two and is mainly used to help reduce anxiety or the signs and symptoms of anxiety. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn //www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SMQzjMB0cE I s it a seizure...psuedoseizure? She has no memory of event and every time it happens...she loses cognition and motor skills. Her abilities have dramatically reduced. AND the worst thing she knows she's different.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, without seeing you and reviewing your tests, I will not be of much help. It does not sound like, based on your description, all of your symptoms can be explained by seizures. If there are progressive changes on the MRI, I believe this should be worked up further. Blood tests such an vitamin B12, folate, thyroid, markers for diabetes, and inflammation (sed rate and C reactive protein) should be checked. After review of the MRI a spinal fluid analysis may be helpful.
Avatar n tn Could someone please tell what are the brain tumor symptoms. I am getting the pressure/stiffness in my head. I got no sinus, flu, cold or such things. Unaware if i got high blood pressure but few months ago i checked, I didnt had it. I can conentrate very well and read and study well also. I do get very faint head aches every now and than.
Avatar f tn To make a long story short the vet called me Saturday morning and told me that Chewy had a seizure 15 minutes after I left him at the vet. He also told me that he started him on Phenobarbital 3 ml morning and evening. He said that if he was better Sunday morning I could pick him up, which I did. Today Monday, I brought him back to the vet for blood work. The vet said his kidney function was a little elevated so he could not rule out poisoning.
Avatar n tn In many cases, the doctors will see the signs of an oncoming seizure before the patient does. The brain waves begin to increase quite rapidly. When my seizures started, the nurses would come into the room and begin to time the episode. They'd give me a password, any word, just to see if I could retain any information. They'd ask questions and wait for me to respond. I currently go to the Cleveland Clinic in Florida and soon I will be having surgery at the main facility in Cleveland.
Avatar n tn You can actually get seizure like symptoms from drinking. You affected your cerebellum and it probably caused your body to want to throw up*Reject* the alcohol causing convulsion like symptoms of your body trying to rid itself of the alcohol(assuming you had already thrown up everything your body could at that point). You are lucky you are alright because when your body is trying to eject the alcohol in this manor it is usually caused by alcohol poisoning.
Avatar n tn My 11-year old son had his first seizure in Jan 08 and what we think "might" have been a seizure 6 months prior, but no confirmation of that. The emergency room said he had heat stroke. It was the first day of school and he was at recess in over 100 degree temperature. He became confused, vomited and didn't know where he was or how old he was. The second seizure took place at home.
94007 tn?1224766336 Thats not good. As some of you may remember, he is disabled and on seizure meds which can CAUSE liver damage. How much of that damage comes from the meds its hard to say. He is going to treat in the fall but is switching to another med - Keppra. Is anyone familiar with it? We cant see how he does off the meds because treatment lowers the seizure threshhold. Lots of complications and unanswered questions. That can only be answered by experience - doc is concerned.
Avatar n tn Seizure activity and signs of neurological problems are common in dogs that are in the end stages of kidney failure due to the buildup of toxins in the body, so it's entirely possible that what you observed was the result of the kidney failure.
Avatar n tn I now know the symptoms and have not had a seizure since I was 12. You should always have snacks available (breakfast bars are great with the jelly filling, a banana, juice box...) especially when he's active and you're away from home. I have snacks in my glove compartment, my purse, my baby's diaper bag and all over the house (just in case). You should get in touch with a Diabetic specialist (not just a general practitioner).
Avatar f tn This past Sunday he just passed away in front of me and my family after having a terrible seizure. I miss him so much, I just cry. He was fine during the day and then suddenly at night he was gone from us.
Avatar n tn Neurologic signs and symptoms sometimes can be brought about by cardiac disorders. For instance, an "irregular beat" can cause a host of problems. Consider making a cardiologist your next stop.
