Avatar m tn One morning I awoke with a terrific burning headache. I had lost my depth perception. Everything seemed flat. I had one hell of a time walking. I was so scared I didn't say anything, not knowing how to explain this. My spacial reference had totally become out of whack. Getting in a car was awful. Since then I have had nothing but visual problems and anxiety. Looking down a road seems as if there is no space. I went to neurologist.Tests are still pending.
Avatar f tn I had all of these symptoms after my first seizure when I was 20, the weakness, tiredness, tingling are all normal, I am afraid. The metallic taste is also normal before you have an episode. As for your MRI scan being abnormal to be honest it will be, your brain has suffered a big shock. As for the result ask your doctor, or even type it in to the internet search box, not only does it explain it but also puts it in normal terms (for us people that aren't doctors). Hope this helps slightly .
Avatar n tn I have had a on and off headache for 1 month. Advil takes care of it for a couple of days. Is there any danger of it being a brain tumor or anything serious.
Avatar m tn Any other associated symptoms like associated joint pains, constipation or diarrhea, chest pain and joint stiffness in the morning? Was an infection associated with the first onset of your symptoms 6 months ago? Avatar n tn MD states that it is most definitely seizure activity/disorder. His symptoms are so vague, though, that we often don't know when he is having a seizure, or what to do. We only seem to know for sure that he had a seizure after the fact, because he sleeps 3-7 hours. He will sometimes complain of crushing headache, frequently nauseated, sometimes vomit, sometimes blurry vision (?), but never are the symptoms the same from time to time.
486038 tn?1300066967 Do I need to seek testing? I have had several possible seizure last fall, they ranged from several seconds (were I would just stare in space and not speak) to several minutes (where I had an aura before had that felt like something washed over me and then I was seperated or a bit detached and I could not speak and afterwards had a terrible headache) and these were witnessed by my mom.
Avatar n tn I have recently (over the past 2 months) been having many neurological problems such as headache, dizziness, and eye changes. My headaches are almost daily but don't last very long and my right pupil is larger then the left one when dilated. These symptoms all just started a couple months ago. All of them seem to get much worse when I get hot, including the pupil difference.
Avatar f tn Can trauma to the eardrum followed by a severe headache cause a seizure? The background...It was one of the scariest moments of my life. My fiance was cleaning his ear with a Q-tip when I accidentally bumped his arm. He flinched for a few minutes(there was no bleeding), said the left side of his head was kind of tingly, then he progressivley developed a headache. It took some aspirin and within literally minutes was asleep.
Avatar n tn This morning I awoke with nauesa, which went away after an hour or so and it was replaced with a headache and blurred vision. These were the same symptoms that I had in the hospital shortly after the seizure. All symptoms are gone, other than the blurry vision, which seems worse in my left eye. Should I be concerned about these symptoms? Is it possible that I had another seizure in my sleep and awoke with the normal symptoms?

Avatar n tn I'm not sure if seizure disorder and epilepsy are the same these days? I'm a 43 year old female, no history of seizures, 2 year survivor of breast cancer, which made the discovery of benign cysts in my left temporal lobe. 6 months ago I started having severe headaches with almost stroke like symptoms with neurological deficits associated with them as well as an elevation in my stress levels. All my doctors tell me I have more stress in my life than they've seen in a while.

Avatar f tn She used to never have headaches, but it is increasingly becoming a common occurance. Today she was having pre-seizure symptoms, so I gave her Lorazapam and was able to successfully stop a full-blown seizure. She is 20 and not able to tell when she is going to have a seizure. She never remembers having seizures either. I have two questions. Is it safe to stop a seizure when you know one is emminent, or is it better to let it run its course??
Avatar f tn I just got home from the hospital. I had a mild seizure. But now my eyes feel shaky and its hard for me to focus.

Avatar n tn Her neurologist changed her to depakote which she did not tolerate at all, symptoms included confusion, dizziness and sever headache. She is now on tegretol, a few days ago she developed severe pain in head that was like a "wave" from one side off head to the other, also slurred speech and tremors. She went to her PCP which did EKG which was normal then symptoms resolved except headache which remains. It was not like her normal seizue's. Could this be side-effects from tegretol?
Avatar f tn The last one lasted three days and on the 3rd day I suffered vision loss while washing dishes then had a seizure. I live alone but I was aware that I was going to have a seizure and remember falling to the floor. An hour later I awoke and had bitten my tongue and had great difficulty walking. Was this due to the migraine???? Never had this happen and did not go tohospital. I was a nurse before I became disabled with RSD and don't trust medical proffesions.
Avatar f tn I am a 20 year old female and I have suffered from unilateral headaches for as long as I can remember. The headaches are always the same: the pain is on the front, right side of my head, covering about a palm sized area, with pain radiating around and behind my right eye and temple.
Avatar n tn However, since March of 07 he began to have a different type of seizure. At first we were told it was because he wasn't taking his medicine correctly but we knew that wasn't the case. In order to prove it, everytime he had this new seizure, I brought into the ER and they would check his Tegretol levels. Finally after the 7th trip to the ER an ER doctor told us that each time his levels were just fine mostly they were 7 to 10.
1216899 tn?1288573925 Last night I had a bad "Seizure" while using the restroom. I was sitting there, and was feeling wierd, suddenly I couldn't tell what I was seeing. I didn't even know where the door was. Nothing made sense visually. I had no headache pain, or anything at the time. I did develope a mild headache later on in the evening however.
Avatar n tn My neurolgist diagnosed me with a stroke-related seizure (since the symptoms were coming from the same area of the brain as where I had my stroke) and gave me Depakote which stopped the symptoms almost immediately. I didn't tolerate the Depakote (many side effects) and eventually switched to Neurontin which I have happily taken for 6 months, three times a day. I have no side effects and the Neurontin keeps the symptoms completely in check unless I accidently skip doses.
