Avatar f tn Can trauma to the eardrum followed by a severe headache cause a seizure? The background...It was one of the scariest moments of my life. My fiance was cleaning his ear with a Q-tip when I accidentally bumped his arm. He flinched for a few minutes(there was no bleeding), said the left side of his head was kind of tingly, then he progressivley developed a headache. It took some aspirin and within literally minutes was asleep.
Avatar n tn Headache associated with epilepsy is called a postictal headache or headache that occurs after seizure activity. Majority of people with epilepsy have postictal headache. Less commonly, a headache may also be a sign that a seizure is approaching. These are called pre-ictal headaches because they occur before the seizure activity starts. Migraines not necessarily cause seizures but it shares some common features with epilepsy.
Avatar n tn My 9 yr old was diagnosed with seizure disorder last week after stress EEG showed multiple abnormal firings in left parietal lobe. MD states that it is most definitely seizure activity/disorder. His symptoms are so vague, though, that we often don't know when he is having a seizure, or what to do. We only seem to know for sure that he had a seizure after the fact, because he sleeps 3-7 hours.

Avatar n tn This morning I awoke with nauesa, which went away after an hour or so and it was replaced with a headache and blurred vision. These were the same symptoms that I had in the hospital shortly after the seizure. All symptoms are gone, other than the blurry vision, which seems worse in my left eye. Should I be concerned about these symptoms? Is it possible that I had another seizure in my sleep and awoke with the normal symptoms?

Avatar m tn What are the symptoms present? Migraine may present with throbbing headaches with associated symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. Topamax or topiramate is a seizure medication, which is also used to prevent migraine headaches in adults. However, it will only prevent migraine headaches or reduce the number of attacks and will not treat a headache that has already begun.

327385 tn?1378360731 when you go to a neuo you keep a seizure diary, so a tracker would be a easy way to keep up with seizures , meds , symptoms, how long seizure lasted. and a migraine tracker . to track headaches, how long lasted, symptoms, meds, where pain is.
737131 tn?1236968031 Once you have your first seizure you can be more prone to have one again. All of your other symptoms are probably withdrawal symptoms. Even though you weaned down, most people still go through some withdrawal, but hopefully to a lesser extent. After you address the seizures you may want to stop taking the pain medication cold turkey and suffer the withdrawal symptoms for a week or so and then you will start to feel those symptoms much less.
Avatar f tn My wife had partial-seizure normally occuring in every 26-28 days once. She is in treatment for almost 2 years now. But not much improvement. Earlier she was on Keppra 500 and now she is in Oxetol150 and for the last 2 months Oxetol 300 twice in a day. She is having headache every day and always sleepy. She got a rash on neck also after some 10 days taking Oxetol (not sure is it due to Oxetol).
Avatar f tn Preictal and ictal headaches are generally of short duration. Rarely a headache may be a sign of an impending seizure. It is then considered pre-ictal and is a type of aura. They are generally brief and throbbing, steady, or sharp. The post-ictal headache is more generalized and can be steady or throbbing, lasting anywhere from few hours to even longer. Patients with epilepsy also have a higher chance of having migraine and cluster headaches.
Avatar n tn Here are my symptoms: I suddenly get freezing cold from the inside moving outward. It is very painful. This often signals the onset of disorientation in which I lose periods of time from a few seconds to a prolonged period where my productivity does not equal the time that has elapsed. There is often an intense headache that feels as if I have a small Lincoln log wedged behind my left eye. My vision is very inconsistent throughout the day.
Avatar n tn The main criteria that establish a diagnosis of abdominal epilepsy include episodes of GI complaints that are unexplained by complete evaluation (which it sounds like your daughter has had), and a sustained abolition of symptoms on anticonvulsant medication (such as lamotrigine). While seizure activity per se is not a diagnostic criteria, many children with abdominal epilepsy will have EEG abnormalities.
Avatar n tn Recently, she has lost vision in her right eye during the headache and is now having seizure-like symptoms. She has experienced 1 - 2 seizures daily for 1 week. She has had a headache for approx 2 weeks. She feels the "seizure" coming on because it is preceded by a unusual taste in her mouth, unusual mental & stomach feelings. Her MD is not sure she is having seizures & ordered an MRI & EEG, which we are waiting on results from.
Avatar n tn If someone has a supra orbital tumor (lets say an intraosseous meningioma for arguement sake) ... of about 3 or 4 centimeters - Aside from headache of visual changes, what symptoms are likely from a tumor in this location? Assuming there is some mild to moderate shunting upward of the brain due to the supra orbital mass? What sort of changes in the person would you see? And if there were seizures, from this pre frontal cortex area, what type of seizure activity would be most likely?
Avatar m tn What other symptoms are present? Can you elaborate on the character of the headache in the frontal and temple area? How about your head injury? This can be due to primary headaches such as tension headache which usually presents with pressure or viselike headache. Healing or recovering from a concussion takes time and may take weeks or even months. Headaches, dizziness, irritability and concentration problems may be observed.
