Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Are there other symptoms present? What were the results of the MRI, EMG and blood tests? Was there a history of trauma to the head or neck? It is good that eye issues are ruled out already. This could be due to primary headaches which are usually managed with prescription medications. Anxiety as well as depression can also be managed with medications prescribed by your doctor and also with medical therapy.

Avatar f tn It is important to accurately describe the seizure, timing of the day the seizure occurred and also in what setting. Then the question arises if the seizure should be treated – this is answered by looking at the risk and benefits of having a recurrent seizure and the side effects of the antiepileptics. Ultimately, the workup will need to identify the cause of the seizure. Is it from an intracranial lesion, an epileptic syndrome, stress, etc? You will need to have neuroimaging performed (i.e,.
401370 tn?1233328282 A single seizure does not impair intelligence, but recurring convulsive seizures may eventually do so. A seizure can cause lack of oxygen, yes, thus causing the heart to endure lack of oxygen as well, and if there are underlying problems due to the fact, than yes- there CAN be damage.. I'd definitely get to the ER or a physician for an EMG...

Avatar n tn MD states that it is most definitely seizure activity/disorder. His symptoms are so vague, though, that we often don't know when he is having a seizure, or what to do. We only seem to know for sure that he had a seizure after the fact, because he sleeps 3-7 hours. He will sometimes complain of crushing headache, frequently nauseated, sometimes vomit, sometimes blurry vision (?), but never are the symptoms the same from time to time.
Avatar f tn What about a free seizure tracker where you explain your symptoms and it recommends whether or not to call your doctor? Or just a seizure tracker.

486038 tn?1300066967 Do I need to seek testing? I have had several possible seizure last fall, they ranged from several seconds (were I would just stare in space and not speak) to several minutes (where I had an aura before had that felt like something washed over me and then I was seperated or a bit detached and I could not speak and afterwards had a terrible headache) and these were witnessed by my mom.
Avatar n tn This morning I awoke with nauesa, which went away after an hour or so and it was replaced with a headache and blurred vision. These were the same symptoms that I had in the hospital shortly after the seizure. All symptoms are gone, other than the blurry vision, which seems worse in my left eye. Should I be concerned about these symptoms? Is it possible that I had another seizure in my sleep and awoke with the normal symptoms?

Suddenly I feel a flickering sensation above my right eyelid and my both eyes would start rapidly flickering, the neck becomes stiff & i am not able to speak. This sensation remains for 5-7 seconds and then i am normal again. During this whole process i am conscious & able to walk, move my limbs & able to hear & respond with bodily gestures to ppl around.
220917 tn?1309788081 How long have you been on it? My story is probably irrelevant since you do seem to have a seizure disorder and I do not, but I thought it bore mentioning.
Avatar n tn My headaches are almost daily but don't last very long and my right pupil is larger then the left one when dilated. These symptoms all just started a couple months ago. All of them seem to get much worse when I get hot, including the pupil difference. I was just doing my dishes in the kitchen and it got hot and I suddenly felt like I was going to pass out and everything went really blurry and weird.
Avatar n tn Until now I haven't recorded how often they've happened or when they started. These are the symptoms that happened to me tonight. I could feel that one of these episodes was about to happen. Normally, this is how it starts out. There were some patterns of light that kind of flashed as I had my eyes closed. After that happened a few times, my ears started to ring and rattle, and I think my teeth might have been chattering together I'm not sure.
Avatar n tn I did see a neurosurgeon who said I was probably born with the cysts and didn't think they had anything to do with the neurological symptoms I was having, of course, he also thought they were migrainous events, so go figure. For something to show up on the EEG while I was on 100 mg of Topamax a day I guess means I'm having pretty much daily seizures, right?
Avatar n tn My son had already called 911 and when they arrived all my vitals were good, BP/Pulse was a little elevated but nothing serious, thought maybe it was a seizure caused by anxiety. I took a Xanax and went to the Dr. the next day. Blood Work, CT, EKG, EEG done, everything seems to check out fine. Seeing a Neurologist soon and off from work until cleared by Neuro.
Avatar n tn My thoughts are possibly Simple Partial Seizures leading into a Complex Partial Seizure. However; she still has a lot of symptoms of Psychogenic Seizures and somewhat of a Secondary Generalized Seizure. The biggest factor that throws me off is the duration of these “attacks.” Please, what are your thoughts or opinions on this case? If you have any more questions of detail, please let me know, Thank You.
