What's the differences between CNS depression and depression? May i know what's the causes of depression? Does it relate to the neurotransmitter? Diazepam is an anti-depressant? It enhances the effect of GABA by binding to the benzodiazepine site on the GABA A-receptor. After binding to the receptor, may i know what's the next mechanism? GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter? If GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, how does diazepam can cause anti-depress?

I have been having a new set of symptoms which includes stabbing, dart-like pains in various muscles. I also have internal vibration which is very disconcerting. I can even feel my lungs vibrating when I breathe. I am scheduled for an MRI of my neck and have completed a nerve study and EMG which showed nothing . Any advice or ideas?

Do you have family history of seizure? How you know that it was tonic clonic? Describe your symptoms to the doctor, how you felt before and after the seizure. Ask doctor what could be the cause for seizure and whether medication is needed or not. Investigations like MRI and EEG are done to find out the cause. Relax, and avoid driving for a while till you see the doctor.

My husband and I are parents to a 17 year old girl who is a senior in high school. In August of 2013, she started to show some odd behavior and we chalked it up to typical teenage girl stuff. However; since August 2013, these are some of the symptoms/behaviors we are experiencing with her: 1). Does not clean room will have trash, bottles, dirty clothes, food and food wrappers everywhere, 2). Will go to bed at 8:00 p.m.

as each day progresses it seems the symptoms become more pronounced. i was put on 400mg of this drug on 1/3/08 after i had brain surgery and been having seizures, i have not had any siezures at this time. is this normal? my neurologist began cutting me back on monday by 100mg every two weeks. help!!!

Hi,I have a question about this medication used for seizures and other things,,,,,,,,,,i amon 250 mg depakote er at night for mood control and gaba diffency i misssed my dose last night and wonder if i might have a seizure i have no seizure disorder and have never had a seizure but someone told me that if u miss a dose u might have aseixure i have been on this med for only 8 days,,,,,i have very bad anxiety and some depression and it seems like this medications takes away all my emotions any

Do the use of these medications help with MS symptoms. If so could taking these type of meds make it more difficult to get a diagnosis.

I'm not familiar with Depression "causing" seizures, I do know some who have seizure suffer with depression also. Maybe the depression can be the frustration of not understanding what is going on with our bodies, that get to me at times for sure. Have the Dr's mentioned increasing any of the medication? If you are on seizure medication during the EEG it won't show any seizure activity from what I was told.

If I taper slowly off of tramadol, can I avoid withdrawal symptoms all together? Or will I feel withdrawal pains no matter what?

(This happened a couple weeks ago) Background: I am on some medication for depression, and I was drinking the night before. I'll admit I did get drunk, but I did not wake up drunk or hungover. Throughout the course of the night I had been eating also. Anywas I woke up in my normal state of health and was standing outside with a friend. When we had came in I had collapsed. I don't remember coming in doors and next thing I knew I was on an ambulance to the hospital.

Also, it is possible to lower the chances of getting kidney stones by increasing your intake of water while on the seizure medication, especially while taking a dose of the seizure medication (like, drinking 2 cups of water when you take the seizure medication). Now, if someone who had seizures and responded incredibly well to this specific medication took it, the probably would never get kidney stones.

Due to brain damage from surgery I have temporal lob seizures I was put on gabapentin and depression occurred. I am looking for something that would control the seizures without depression. Help with any idea! Thanks Would Dilatin help with this type of seizure?

The face drooping that was noted to occur before your grand-mal seizure is not a sign of that you are having a stroke before your seizure. I thought perhaps I had felt it stronger than others. My real question is how long it could last after the physical withdrawal. I'm afraid of having to go on with life for a month or longer with that feeling--I don't know if I could do it.

When I try to force myself I get minor seizure like symptoms and my stress level goes way up above average even though I meditate on a regular basis I get small scale sicknesses due to my immunity going down also it seems to be getting worse as time progresses. I have lost motivation for leisure activities as well which especially gets me worried. I went to several doctors including therapists and it has them all stumped.

Since the EEG most definitely showed seizure activity, you have a good case in your hands for an explanation of your symptoms and the EEG. It is quite easy to understand that the abnormal EEG and the seizure are not related to the pregnancy, but I am surprised how the EEG report has not convinced some of your doctors about a possible seizure. Usually, it is not a very hard task to diagnose epilepsy. But the most important part is the task of selecting the appropriate medicine.

this lasted for a few days and then other strange symptoms started to happen. within a few days i noticed that my foot was feeling funny in my shoe and wierd when i walked on it. then i noticed that my hand ,arm and face felt funny too. i can draw a line down the middle of my body and the left half feels like it belongs to someone else. my skin is not completely numb as i can feel pressure but touch and temperature are affected. very tired, somewhat depressed.

My seizure disorder, OCD, depression, and anxiety are not treated with antidepressants, SSRI, seizure meds, or meds like the ones your mother takes. My treatment is estrogen, a potent female hormone and nuerological transmitter. It corrected the problems I was having in my brain. I have to much serotonin from high histamine and SSRI caused a deadly conditon in me called serotinin syndrome because docs wouldn't look past the end of their noses for other answers to my health problems.
