Avatar n tn Infections and fever can make an otherwise healthy individual more prone to have a seizure. a single episode of seizure cannot be marked as epilepsy. An EEG to ensure that there are no structural abnormalities in brain. Normal EEG and MRI brain are encouraging though this does not rule out a future episode. You need to consult a physician for investigating any underlying infectious condition, high or low blood sugar, injury, electrolyte imbalance, drug withdrawal syndrome etc.

Avatar m tn I absolutely have no sweets and switched to sprouted grain bread (no flour and has a low GI) and high fiber carbs which are better for your blood sugars. I gave up sweets, junk food, crackers/cookies/chips, ice cream for the most part with an occasional indulgance of 1/2 cup serving, and gave up rice and have only whole grain pasta. So, if he's serious like that, maybe he can avoid the medication entirely. But, you have to run everything by the doctors.

It was a an early morning appointment and she never ate breakfast, so I was thinking maybe her blood sugars were low, they went ahead with the extractions anyway. she has to return for more extractions shortly and we are all very anxious this will happen again. Any advice would be useful?

Avatar n tn 3 weeks ago, after a prolonged seizure, my 16-month old daughter came into a deep sedation status. After the anti-seizure medications were reduced and eventually stopped, she is still in a deep sedation (or light coma) mode as of today (Aug 10). She is responding to pain by withdrawing her legs or arms, and her eyes do move from side to side when they are open. However, she has no reaction to stimulus such as light, sound, moving objects, etc.

Avatar n tn 4) If you agree to take ALL seizure precautions during a possible trial of stopping or tapering down your seizure medications (that means, living with someone; possibly refraining from driving and using heavy machinery.) Avatar f tn It sounds like a possible seizure. They can manifest in many different ways and it's not uncommon to see that head tilting behavior. It's also typical to that they need to sleep quite a while after having a seizure. Since he's had two episodes that you know of, it's definitely time to see your vet. Try not to panic.
