I can tell you from personal experience that the idea of awareness when having a seizure is VERY vague. Think of it as being temporarily thrown into a dream state.

My SIL and I both knew there was something wrong so when ever she went to pick her up, my niece just completely passed out with her eyes rolling in the back of her head. I put her down on the floor because I work in a hospital and I needed to see if she was breathing. When I looked at her and went to listen for breath sounds she was blue and wasn't breathing. I went to star CPR on her but she started to wake up.
