Common Questions and Answers about Seizure of noise equipment

seizure

Avatar f tn My husband is a type 2 diabetic and is 70 years old. Out of the blue a few months ago he had an episode in the night that I didn't witness but the symptoms were that of a seizure according to the Doctor who saw him in the hospital (he had a fall at the time and had superficial facial wounds) The doctor put him on dilantin and they did an EEG. Then he was taken off the dilantin because the EEG didn't show anythin g.
Avatar f tn Also a repetitive noise can do it too. This type of cause of seizure is not very common. i went to several docs before one would believe me. I use ear plugs when I know I may be some place that could cause problems like a concert. I keep the volumes turned down at home, and I try to make a mental note of what is playing when my seizures occur. Exiting the noise as soon as I notice things sometimes helps. Unfortunately it is difficult to go through life without noise if you can hear.
Avatar n tn Hi, I understand the trauma your wife must be going through. The noise sensitivity or noise intolerance has occurred due to the use of Tegretol. Noise sensitivity is one of the major side effects of Tegretol. The only way to minimize the side effects of medication is a good nutrition to counter the adverse effects of medication on the body. Excellent nutrition can work wonders in patients with drug induced health problems.
Avatar n tn He said that he heard alot of noise and then a big thud on the floor. I tried to grab a shelf it had alot of air fresheners on it and i pulled them off onto the floor when I was blacking out. I thought that I would get rid of the blackouts and seizures when i got older. This is not the case i'm in my late 40's now and just had one. So yes I would like to be heard. Has anyone else had these symptoms or similar?
Avatar m tn I don't think I'd be inclined to think of something having to do with the central nervous system, I'd lean more toward a structural problem with maybe a narrowing of the spinal cord in the cervical region impinging on a nerve or nerves that causes the tremors in the legs. What breed of dog is he?
Avatar f tn There are many times of seizure, and not all of them involve losing consciousness. Did you bite your tongue or wet yourself (I realise this would be hard to tell since you were in the shower)? If so, this is strongly associated with epilepsy. My advice would be to speak to your doctor, get your blood pressure checked and he or she might arrange an EEG (a trace which monitors the electrical activity of the brain) to see if there are any abnormalities. Hope this helped.
Avatar f tn m no expert but I have heard of this type of seizure. I say that because I have a friend who, like me, had right temporal lobe seizures. Her parents said that since she was a little girl, just in elementery school, they could tell one to three days before her seizures due to lights, plain impatience etc.that one was coming. Long about the third day she became very agressive. I know you say you've done research which is great. Have you seen a neurologist?
Avatar n tn The dx was an artifact and an artifact is considered of no medical consequence but equipment related...sometimes called noise.
Avatar f tn Could also be from baby hearing a loud noise and getting startled mine did that a couple of time's :) and she's 6 days old and perfectly fine
Avatar n tn My husband, age 59, had a meningioma removed from the right temporal area on March 9th of 2007. He took Dexamethazone for six months before being weaned off because of seizure and edema. He was just weaned off of 600 mg dilantin in November. He is 6'6 weighing 275 pounds. Just today he has swelling in the temporal area (tumor area) and yesterday experienced tingling in the left hand. Does this mean that seizures are recurring? Should he be checked by his neurologist?
Avatar m tn PLEASE, I want to know what the likelihood of me having a seizure is, I have been taking the fioricet for a few months now, and have lowered it down to 3 a day. I must have a professional estimate or reccomendation before I have another breakdown!
5221747 tn?1365396245 OK i swear it just felt like my daughter had a crazy seizure inside me. out of nowhere she started beating the crap outta my insides and flipping or something. It was crazy. that's never happened before. Is it normal?
Avatar f tn The ECG abnormal result can be due to electrolye imbalance, medication, heart rate above 100 at time of test, electrical noise within the equipment, artifacts, etc, etc.
Avatar m tn Hypoxia is an established trigger for an epileptic seizure and many normal individuals will seize when in such an environment. It is not certain you will have a seizure, however the threshold of sensitivity will be affected. If you want to test the theory get permission from the FAA to attend a course in which you sit in their high altitude chamber with reduced oxygen content and see if you have a seizure.
Avatar f tn A couple of weeks ago I had what I believe to be a seizure. The last one I had was about four years ago. I'm waiting for hospital appointment for nureology. I made a noise apparently and then grasped for air. Any help? Anything I can look for?
1156914 tn?1300571629 Some say that myoclonus can be a symptom of epilepsy and when I last saw my neuro in May, he said that he suspected that I have epilepsy even thought the 2 EEGs that I've had have been perfectly normal. I've been on anti-epileptics which really help with the twitches.
Avatar n tn I think I may be having seizures at night time, but I'm not sure. I've just started keeping track of them tonight. Until now I haven't recorded how often they've happened or when they started. These are the symptoms that happened to me tonight. I could feel that one of these episodes was about to happen. Normally, this is how it starts out. There were some patterns of light that kind of flashed as I had my eyes closed.
3143728 tn?1343008561 This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, and automatic behavior. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may schedule you for a polysomnogram (sleep test) to rule out sleep disorders and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn The day after she got the shot, she had a seizure. We took her to the ER. She had numerous blood tests done and a CAT scan which all turned out to be completely normal. Her blood sugar, when the paramedics arrived, was 81. The ER doctor told us he thought the seizure was due to a drop in blood sugar. She sees an endocrinologist for her diabetes, and that doctor said we should take her to a pediatrician to have her checked.
Avatar f tn She reports seeing double when reading (letters doubled vertically on top of each other) that goes away when she covers one eye. She can't quite remember when this started but it has been at least four months. Her eye tracking is off--the movements of her eye side to side aren't smooth but jerky as far as I could tell. She also had great difficult moving her eyes to track up or down. In addition, the doctor was unable to correct her vision (around -5.
Avatar f tn seem to resemble nacrolepsy or similar sudden losses of muscle tone with alterations in or loss of consciousness. Some seizure disorders, e.g.: complex partial seizure disorders, present this way. Make certain to find a neurologist who specializes in the brain and central nervous system as opposed to one that works on neuromotor issues. The Epilepsy Foundation (epilepsyfoundation.org) should be able to help you find one locally.
Avatar f tn Yesterday my daughter made a loud repititive noise for about 10 secs she then took in a deep breath and feel to the ground. He entire body stiffened up and her eyes went blank. She was not breathing for about 10-15 secs. When she came to she fell into a deep sleep for 15-20 mins. Could this have been a sz?
195469 tn?1388322888 I have tremors from time to time. It mostly affects my hands, when I am reaching for something or trying to carry something in one hand. It will also happened to an extreme is I am using any outdoor garden equipment that vibrates...like a leaf blower. My hands go nuts afterwards. My legs did this when I was first diagnosed with MS 13 years ago. I had Optic Neuritis at the time and was treated with Solumedrol. I have only had tremors in my leg (s) once since that time.
