Avatar f tn Sometimes he gets just one of these, other times he can get all of them together or a combination of a few of them. The doctor took him off his BP medication(Ace inhibitor). After a couple of months she just put him on Toprol(beta-blocker)-4 days ago. This morning he got up and had a swollen tongue and it was hard for him to swallow. He took a dose of Benadryl and another dose and hour later and again 5 hours after that. Not just the tongue itelf was swollen but under the tongue as well.
1331115 tn?1536362140 t been may viruses or malwale created against MAC OS because of the low incidents of usage. This is no longer true, the number of MAC users vs Windows users has increased from 98% Windows to 2% MAC OS in 2000 to 85% Windows & 15% MAC. So now the evil hackers are now targeting MAC much more than they ever have. Also the advent of the iPhone (which uses MAC OSX) has further increased the development of MAC OS malware. So yes MAC maybe somewhat more secure but it still has its security holes.
Avatar f tn I am in my mid 40's I have been on Effexor XR at 225/mg and Lamictal 300/mg a day for several years to treat bi-polar. I have been having problems with cognition, memory and concentration for many years and it seems to be getting worse. I have problems finding the right words, for example, I'll name 4 or 5 males names in my family before I say the right one, or i'll say glass instead of window.
Avatar n tn First of all...go to your doctor. Then research the 13 names of MSG. Then start reading all labels of what chemicals you are putting in your body. Know deadly words like sodium nitrates, sodium benzoate, aspertame, etc.
163305 tn?1333668571 No one can ever deny that both you OH and rivll's hearts are in the right place. If only the issue was as simple as, screw the banks. The simplistic view of screw the banks to solve the problem is naive to say the least. Half the problem with these "frozen" homes is no one really knows who holds the mortgage(in the end this imo may be the biggest hurdle). The mortgages were packaged and sold to investors...
Avatar m tn Fortwin is one of the trade names for the injectable form of pentazocine-- a drug with complicated opioid effects. Pentazocine is thought to have effects at opioid receptors other than the mu receptor (where most abused opioids acts). Pentazocine rather is thought to active delta and sigma opioid receptors. These receptors have been implicated in dissociative and hallucinatory effects. You are at greater risk of having a seizure from using the medication than you are from withdrawal.

Avatar f tn Once the seizure is over he has no recollection of it. He is very tired afterwards and complains of a headache. Within a couple of hours he is back to normal, (like nothing has happened). He is a very active young man and is in very good health. Around 4 years ago he got hit on the left hand side of his head with a golf club, which resulted in him having to have stitches in his left eyebrow. He wasn't knocked unconsious and within a couple of hours he was playing again.
Avatar m tn I find their diagnosis interesting as most seizures of the gelastic type are tied to small tumors near the hypothalamus. My hope for you and your son is that the actual type of seizure he suffers from is in the category that goes away as they approach puberty.
Avatar n tn She has had 8, and in 4 of them, she was wearing a seatbelt and it was tight across her neck. She would come right out of the seizure as soon as she was laid down and had complete memory up to the moment of seizure along with alertness and wakefulness afterward---not typical seizure response. She remained upright during one seizure and went blue, then gray. Only after I pulled her from the car and lay her on the ground did she start breathing again and the color returned to her face.
Avatar f tn Hi. My dad is 63 years old, a survivor of 2 cardiac arrests, a stroke 5 years ago that was accompanied by a seizure. On Saturday he wasn't feeling well with a headache and then became unresponsive. He had a seizure in the ambulance and one in the ER. He was on life support for almost 2 days and thank goodness is is now awake and alert. His memory is very touch and go. He has come along way.

Avatar n tn Have you used Valsartan for treatment of hypertension patients in high risk patients? Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
Avatar f tn Please, Please make sure she takes her medicine like she is supposed to. I am not trying to scare you,(only make you aware). I had a friend that stopped taking her dilantin for whatever reason and I came home one day and she had passed away on my couch. Medical Examiner ruled it Sudden Death Associated with Seizure Disorder. Now this is VERY rare and from what I have read about it happens when they stop taking their meds. Remember it is VERY rare. You can read about it online.
148588 tn?1465778809 For starters, the whole legal concept of eminent domain, in which private citizens are forced to surrender their property for a project that serves the public good, does not translate well in the Big Bend, particularly when it involves businessmen working for Mexico........." http://desmogblog.
667078 tn?1316000935 It is easy to forget what is on the internet is public domain. The Library of Congress just recently downloaded all tweets. As Ren pointed out it can be used in court. Also their are programs which alert someone every time a word or name is used. The drug companies can use this technology to keep track of what is said about there product. I do not want to scare anyone just alert you to what you may not know.
486038 tn?1300063367 and I just knew in my stomach that I was going to pass out and have a seizure in front of these kids and then I got this feeling like I had ice inside my skull and a huge weight on my body and started to go fuzzy and then it went away... and I was all slow speaking and a little freaked out becuase that is exactly how my seizures had started last fall, but then they progressed. I guess this one decided not to????? I feel fine now. So, exactly how do generic medicines work?
Avatar f tn Note there is a difference between the cause of a seizure and a trigger. Seizures can be caused by head injury (at any time in your life), diabetes side effects, a high fever as a child or a virus/bacterium like meningitis. Triggers are things like alcohol drinks, flashing lights (like driving a car through shade/shadow or watching window blinds flickering the light from a breeze, or for some people anything raising the adrenaline level. In women, PMS is usually a trigger.
Avatar f tn My husband is a type 2 diabetic and is 70 years old. Out of the blue a few months ago he had an episode in the night that I didn't witness but the symptoms were that of a seizure according to the Doctor who saw him in the hospital (he had a fall at the time and had superficial facial wounds) The doctor put him on dilantin and they did an EEG. Then he was taken off the dilantin because the EEG didn't show anythin g.
Avatar f tn Since you have it since childhood, it can either be a congenital heart condition like a leaking valve or something similar. Compression of cervical spinal nerves is another possibility. It can also be some type of epilepsy or seizure. Please discuss these possibilities with a doctor who is treating you. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
285896 tn?1237211227 more than I wanted to as, same as you, it felt like someone elses life, but I will say that stress is a part of it. Everyone...EVERYONE, can have a seizure...everyone's threshold is diffrent. My husband was going thru a lot at the time and I think that stress, sleep deprivation and some other things contributed to it. Those first few months of post-seizure were really scary. Driver's license issues, health-screening issues, you name it.
Avatar f tn There are different types of epilepsy with different characteristics like grand mal epilepsy you have tonic clonic generalized muscle contractions, frothing, unconsciousness, twitches, metal confusion, some may lose bladder and bowel control, usually preceded by an aura of impending seizure. aura is a strange feeling of muscle stiffening, hearing weird sounds, smelling strange smells etc. absence seizure manifest as brief staring spells where the person is cut off from the surroundings.
Avatar n tn The temporary lack of oxygen to your brain can cause some seizure activity. That may explain your symptoms after the event. There are other possible explanations, so you should.share this info with your primary care doctor. My explantion is not a diagnosis. Best of luck to you. Good luck.
