752584 tn?1233693982 I queried the vision episode with someone who deals with neuro issues who suggested I have an EEG as it was suggested it may be seizure related. Im afraid to mention this to my GP as if the results are positive my driving license may be taken from me. I have an appointment with an eye consultant next week but am not sure if he will give me any neuro related answers. If it happens again Im tempted not to mention it to my doctor due to the possible implications.

Avatar f tn change in alertness, difficulty speaking or understanding speech, headache, loss of coordination or balance, difficulty moving any body part, seizure, vision and sensation changes. Surgery is done to repair or remove structures causing the bleed. How well a patient does depends on the size of the hematoma and the amount of swelling. There may be a complete recovery, or some permanent loss of brain function. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn His symptoms briefly are as follows. At seven months old hospitalised after a seizure at home. Had a major seizure in the hosp that night(45 mins). He had kidney ultrasound, lumbar puncture and brain ct. We were told all tests clear. Called back 5 weeks later and asked by the dr had we ever violently shaken our son(he was 8 months at this stage). We have never hurt him and were shocked. The dr said his brain ct showed abnormalities.
Avatar f tn It is common to see this in nursing homes. A woman I cared for developed it at age 99, and upon discontinuance of the meds, it diappeared at age 102. She now 108 years old.
787406 tn?1339203183 I could remember convulsing (yet, I should have been unconscious) and looking at the bottom of the refrigerator (which is where I went down). I know after a seizure, I would ache all over . . . so what you're feeling may be what I should feel. It really does sound like a form of epilepsy. I'm serious when I say get a new neuro. 'Cause no one is gonna' care about your health, but you.
Avatar f tn He is now in a nursing facility and in the past 5 months or so has become extremely agitated, at times. He has always been very quiet and cooperative. He tells me he feels "nervous" and that he begins banging his hands on the bed/wall and his wheel chair into doors or walls...
Avatar f tn I think the best person to ask this question to would be your pharmacist. They are typically very knowledgeable about how medications interact with one another. Normally, when you get you rscripts filled (so long as you're using the same pharmacy for all of them), their computers will automatically check for interactions, but if you're just doing research on the possible interactions (or use different pharmacies), just give them a call.
Avatar f tn Im about 5 weeks and work as a CNA in a nursing home. It requires alot of heavy lifting when moving residents. Can I work or would I be safer finding a new job?
Avatar m tn My mother, therapist, and high school homeroom teacher ( who was the nursing teacher at my school and a psychiatric ER nurse by night ) all said that my deja vu was most likely because of my anxiety. My homeroom teacher even said that since if I dont think about it too much as its happening it goes away quickly that its even more likely its just anxiety. That the reason why I am tired afterword is because I scare myself so bad that I go into anxiety fatigue. Which once again, all very true.
Avatar n tn I had to stop dairy when I was nursing my son, because he was allergic. I haven't had a seizure since I gave it up!! My brother practices Chinese medicine and encouraged me for years to take dairy and sugar out of my diet. I didn't think I could do it, but I managed to for my son. I am a true believer in diet effecting seizures.
Avatar f tn The sleeping the next day thing is very common following an epileptic seizure. Not all dogs do this, but it depends on the severity of the seizure. In humans, a bad headache usually follows the seizure the next day, and they're just wiped out from the muscle tension during the seizure and very, very sleepy. The circling while she's chasing her tail is a classic doggie OCD. This makes me think that the licking probably is as well.

You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Avatar f tn ” I suggest that you ask you ask your doctor what that is and what are the implications of it. I can assure you that if, as stated, your PFT’s were above average when you quit smoking nearly ten years ago, you do not have emphysema now and you can stop worrying about it. The indications for sleep apnea testing are not to be found in PFT’s. Once again, ask your doctor what has led to his/her suspicion that a sleep study might be useful.
Avatar m tn Some news. Yesterday I emailed the Ped Neuro at Los Angeles Childrens Hospital (part of USC Medical). I have a client who is a nurse there who suggested I do so. In 25 yrs has never seen the type of seizure my grandson had. I was so impressed she responded quickly and told me what my grandson is having is NOT a seizure. It mimic's one but it should not be classified as a seizure and that it is a shudder attack. If they look like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar f tn While at one of my children's basketball practice, my other two boys were running around and playing. At some point my three year old was on the ground, lying on his side and his whole body shook for about 5 seconds. His eyes were open and he had a scared look on his face. After he shook, he then began to cry. He quickly recovered and when asking him questions he said that the floor was going down. He also did a gesture like spinning to describe.
