Hi there, i had a brain injury in feb and havent had any seizures yet but i was told in order to get back to driving/work etc i might have to take an anti-seizure medication. What medications are there? And i was told by someone else that they will slow down my recovery. because they are stimulants? in what way would they slow it down?

my 16 yr old son who suffers from autism cerebral palsey ocd servere to profound hearing loss and epilepsy has suffered 3 seizures in 2 weeks, 1 tonic seizure may 2, 1 grand mal may 7 and 1 grand mal may 17. he is now taking 1000mg depakote. his depakote level is 105 (he weighs 98 lbs) since his last seizure on may 17 he now cries for hours before he falls asleep, and wakes during the night crying. i think his meds r affecting him. can u please give me an idea to help him?
t have to be blind or have the dog because it detects when you are going to have a seizure in order for it to be a service dog. Perhaps together you and your doctor can brainstorm and come up with something that would require you to have the dog. Good luck and let us know how things go!
The pain appears to get worse following seizure events. He has be having a run of CPS recently and the pain is becomming intollerable for him. No one can tell us why he is having so much pain or what is causing it therefore nothing is done for it. I have tried drugs like brufen and panadol and panadeine. He claims these do nothing and refuses to take them for that reason. I need to stop his pain somehow.
I am a Type II diabetic (diagnosed 10 years ago) on metformin (1,000 mg. daily) and prandin (2 mg with meals). I have been diagnosed with a heart problem and have been exercising regularly as part of cardiac rehab. I have been experiencing frequent sugar lows, resulting in blurred vision and dizzyness. Last week, I awoke in the hospital after having diabetic seizures. I remember feeling weak and taking some glucose tablets. Apparently these weren't enough to ward off the seizure.
Other factors may also be contributory such as stress or certain triggers like food, weather, hormones, or medications. Have this evaluated further by your neurologist for proper management. Pain medications may also help.

In adults the choice of an antiepileptic drug depends on several factors like type of seizure, associated medical disorders and use of any medications etc.Dilantin,carbamezapine,valproate can be used in temporal lobe seizures.Topamax,keppra,lamotrigine can be used as add on drugs with medications mentioned above.Dilantin doesn’t cause depression but can cause decrease in renal function,headache,dizziness,confusion,double vision etc.
re probably going to get the B complex in a multivitamin without any added herbs from a GMP certified practitioner brand that uses the amount of B vitamins usually used for neuropathy. Since she's on cardiovascular medications I'd like to avoid possible interactions when we choose a multivitamin. She has also had triple bypass surgery and has some high blood pressure but is otherwise in very good shape and very active.

He usually recovers with energy and seems to be normal afterwards. The last seizure was 2 weeks ago, since then he has been walking off balance with his head tilted to the left side. He still eats, barks, and uses the bathroom but he has no balance. I'm very concerned. I also learned about idiopathic disease and some say this will go away in 2-3 weeks. Have you been prescribed anti convulsants for the same? Have you been seizure free post medications or is the therapy and the dosages well titrated? if so, you could travel with the airway authorities apprised about your medical condition. You could also have a medic alert to generally make the onlookers more careful in case you throw a seizure during travel. If your seizures are not well controlled despite drugs, you must not travel.
Hello everyone, I am 20 and was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 18 and was put on Depakote then taken off due to weight gain and put on Topamax, which is what I'm currently taking. Just recently I had a new diagnosis of Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy and was put on Folic Acid and Keppra. So now I'm taking three medications.
