1045176 tn?1253403447 many people who have diabetes can manage this side-effect with proper exercise and by experimenting with their family doctors or their diabetes specialists to find a type of insulin (there are many different types) that does not have noticeable side effects or maybe has tolerable side-effects. But, still, what it comes down to, is that for someone with Type 1 Diabetes... without their medication, their insulin, regardless of side-effects such as weight gain, they would DIE.
Avatar f tn He is now back on dilantin and has been seizure free with the side effects that a lot of people mention (slightly disoriented at times, light headed etc) However he has had a cough at night since then and it can be quite bad. He isn't able to get a good nights sleep (nor am I) since then. His chest Xray was fine. Has anyone else had a problem with this?
Avatar f tn After surgery in which everything was removed, she had chemo. One of the many side effects was nerve damage to the soles of her feet. She experiences pins and needles and can hardly walk. It has been 2 years since and even though her CA 125 is increasing again, she still has trouble with the pain in the soles of her feet. Does anyone have this experience and is there anything for her?
Avatar f tn With some people having the siezures and dealing with their side effects is better than taking all those Anti-Siezure medication and their side effects. Alll people take siezure medication should have someone watching out for and over them while taking these medications. Well, that is my opinion or two cents worth.

Avatar f tn ) I hardly notice it when not, well, drinking. Maybe a mix of alcohol effects and medicinal side effects all creating one not-good feeling day. Well, I think the simple solution is not to drink when you're on 6+ medications!! Again, thanks for the time and info rumpled.

1475202 tn?1536270977 This activity needs to be suppressed to control seizures. So, anti convulsive medications will have drowsiness or mood swings as side effects. But with time you may develop tolerance to these side effects. If this medication is effective in controlling seizures and your liver enzymes are not showing a progressive increase, your doctor will advise you to continue the same. You can participate in user reviews of this medication to gain more insight. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

1316053 tn?1279509497 My doctor and pharmacist have thouroughly gone through all the possible side effects with me, and said you would not go straight into a seizure, you would feel very bad first, enough time to act upon it and stop the Cymbalta.....And my doctor is keeping a very close eye on me....
2030686 tn?1351688548 I remember the gastro saying I needed to be seizure free for so long b4 I can tx. Does anybody know why this is? Will the medications lower my seizure threshold even more? My reg dr put in a call to the neuro after I had a few seizures this weekend and she put me on Keppra.
Avatar f tn Seizures can be caused by head injury (at any time in your life), diabetes side effects, a high fever as a child or a virus/bacterium like meningitis. Triggers are things like alcohol drinks, flashing lights (like driving a car through shade/shadow or watching window blinds flickering the light from a breeze, or for some people anything raising the adrenaline level. In women, PMS is usually a trigger.
Avatar m tn Blood testing is important, so if you are concerned about the side effects, get the vet to do a blood test to assess dosage levels. But, the side effects CAN continue for several weeks, before they will eventually start to subside. I know it's a hard process - but it has to be gone through - otherwise you will be back at square one. Don't interfere with the dosing without the vet's authority - and importantly, give the dose at the same time every 12hrs.
Avatar f tn So may I know Oxetol 300 is a good and recommended medicine to treat partial-seizure and these side affects are common. She is getting fear like symptoms sometimes. So all these are normal side affects and it will get right after some days taking or the body become ready to accept Oxetol ? And final question, is this partial seizure can be cured completely ? what else we need to do improve the treatment. Took MRI scan and nothing found other than Sinus. Blood levels are fine.
Avatar m tn In many cases, the exact biochemical mechanism is not understood. All of these meds have side effects, sedation being among the most common. Your doctor will go over the side effects with you, and you may opt for one med over another based on the side effect profile. Hope this info helps.
Avatar n tn In patients with seizures on antiepileptics, not taking medications prior to surgery, or the effects of anesthetics on the seizure medications can also lead to seizures. The stresses of surgery could bring out seizures in someone with a predisposition to seizures. Patients with cerebral palsy may have a higher risk of seizures depending on their exact history and what the cause of their cerebral palsy is thought to be.
Avatar f tn s what her doctor recommended. Some medications could have neurologic side effects but again a neuro doctor would be best to point out which if any of her meds could do this. In the meanwhile you could research side effects of the medicines she is on and see if any match her symptoms.
Avatar f tn So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I am so-o glad for both you and your pet. I had a pug that began having seizures and the first vet we took her too didn't - "..feel comfortable.." putting her on phenobarbital. He said that once they start taking it, they must continue to take it. That's exactly what he said. I have no idea whether that is true or not - but I would definitely call around and find out. Our 'little girl' began having seizure after seizure, foaming at the mouth and wandering into walls!
1066198 tn?1333309028 I went to my GP yesterday...he sumises possible thyroid dysfunction, other hormonal imbalance, LAMICTAL side effects, stress or possible other (unknown) cause... Started off with the thyroid and other hormone testing-- as well as a CBC and CMP to check all blood counts and metabolic processes... we should have results back by next Wednesday... then go from there.... although my symptoms are classic hypothyroid signs... he is concerned there could also be other causes as well...
