Avatar n tn Calmomile Tea, works great. Valerian is liver toxic, so avoid that. I like Melatonin.. Start with 1mg, and if it works, than continue.. Anytime I have a rough time getting to sleep, one pill usually does the trick..Looks like we'll be starting around the same time.Wish you the best.. Oh boy, I know alittle something about Dr's prescribing what they are paid to!! Whether there is a better or cheaper drug. I have posted many arguments about this on the forum.
537974 tn?1213748515 I am sure there r many different conditions that can result in this pain. See ur dr and he can determine with other symptoms if an MRI is needed.
Avatar m tn The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after. I notice if I catch it early (which means I carry antibiotics with me all the time) it is not as nearly as bad. Doctors have diagnosed this as Asthma, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma etc etc. All different specialists seem to have a different prognosis and the recommended pills over the years have not really done any good.
Avatar m tn If you have an anti nausea medication at home that you've used before with treatment, that might help as well. But if it were me, I would get it checked out.
535089 tn?1400677119 Substances Causing False Positives According to a report by the Los Angeles Times New Service, a study of 161 prescription and over the counter medications showed that 65 of them produced false positive results in the most widely administered urine test.
Avatar f tn Somehow, I thought that living with all of these problems was preferable to having my skull sawed open, plus I was clinging onto hope that the problems would just go away themselves if I just ignored them them long enough. Dumb, I know. Someone mentioned chiari to me as a possibility once, so I posted on this forum asking if you all thought my symptoms sounded reminiscent of it. I don't know if I have chiari, though; it's just one of about a gazillion possibilities.
544292 tn?1268886268 Our best success for aleviating distress during tramadol detox has been to treat it medicinally the same as standard opiate detox, recognize these folks will take a few days more, and offer them your most sincere reassurance that it will get better. (I've had great success by connecting the current patient by phone with a volunteer former tramadol detox patient.) NOW FOR THE REST of YOU FOLKS: I don't have much to offer you...
242516 tn?1368227505 risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture is further increased in those over age 60, in kidney, heart, and lung transplant recipients, and with use of concomitant steroid therapy. Physicians should advise patients, at the first sign of tendon pain, swelling, or inflammation, to stop taking the fluoroquinolone, to avoid exercise and use of the affected area, and to promptly contact their doctor about changing to a non-fluoroquinolone antimicrobial drug.

Avatar n tn Last week the doc switched softeners, but the next appt isn't for 2 months, with the instructions that 'that's all that can be done right now'. I am concerned that this is too long for a follow up, that something may get missed, but mostly that because of the pain and difficulty, he'll start 'withholding' and create a blockage or something. I should mention related medical items: at 2 weeks he was hospitalized with seizures due to calcium levels dropping, treated and released.
480448 tn?1426952138 For a person who is experiencing this for the first time...it can be VERY upsetting and disturbing. I was there before as well...the first time I went through this, I was convinced there was something wrong with my eyes. Everything just "looked" so weird, so odd. I almost felt like I was having out of body experiences...or was watching the world through a movie projector, instead of through my own eyes and mind.
222369 tn?1274478235 It runs the gambit from simple muscle relaxers and anti-seizure medications such as Neurontin, to much more troubling medications such as Z-drugs (Ambien and Lunesta), benzos, and even marijuana or alcohol. It's a very understandable thought process that makes us seek anything that will help us get through the perceived horrors of withdrawal. I say "perceived" because if they were truly the hell that we think they were, would we do them over and over?
341190 tn?1295470725 Hi Jo, I was diagnosed w/ epilepsy in Aug 07, age 31. I have partial & complex partial seizures. I didn't realize it but I had my first seizure when I was 18, I experienced an odd scent & then felt like I was in a dream or dejavu. I never lost consciousness, just a little out of it. I only had 1 at that time & didn't have another one until about 2 years ago. They all were the same. I think the weird thing is that my dream like state / dejavu is always the same dream.
Avatar n tn My husband was injured and continued to work due to his employers demand. His supervisor then assaulted him about 6 weeks later. He has underwent blood tests, spinal taps and MRI's. My question is has anyone else had tremors happen due to injury/assault? If so, what was the treatment and the out come. Currently he is on two medications. The second ordered yesterday. We do not know yet if it will assist with the tremors. His nerves are demylating at a rapid pace.
Avatar f tn The good news is that he has been seizure free since the surgery. The bad news is that since July he has had some head pain off & on until this last week when the pain became severe. It starts at the surgery site - goes over his head to the right and mostly stays at the top of his head. In addition, he hears noises inside his head that seem to go along with his pulse, is sensitive to light and has been unusually cold for him.
Avatar n tn I have a script for Wellbutrin that I might fill in case I get depressed, but that carries a seizure warning as well. I have never had a seizure but I sure don't want to start now! Thanks for the heads up!
82861 tn?1333457511 They thought it was such a good idea they did the same, leaving Mom completely alone and hysterical for two days. I got to deal with the fallout. When you add up all the things that mom refuses to do, the only option left is death. (But she has civil rights which must not be infringed.) The real horror is that Mom really doesn't want to die. I see flashes of my "old" mother in there, and she's a terrified old woman facing death in a great deal of pain.
220917 tn?1309788081 Hi, Lulu! It's good to see you on Facebook, too! I'm sorry to hear your DIL has migraines, but am happy the medicine combination is working for her. I take Zanaflex, a muscle relaxer, or I wouldn't be able to sleep with my leg pain, which has gotten to be troublesome. I think it helps, too, because I believe my headaches are not just simple migraines (as if there is such a thing!!), but a complex sort of migraine/tension (thank you, earthquake!
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Tramadol Warriors! This place is so magical. I am really happy that we all found one another. Here's the place to be if you want off Tramadol ... Love and Healing! Emily (PS.
Avatar m tn i went to a urologist who after testing me for gonorhea and chlamydia said it was not that and diagnosed me with prostatitis. i was on cipro for a month and a half, the z pac, amox, doryx, the works. Nothing helped. fall came and i started noticing more hair then usual was falling out of my head. just running my hands through my hair i would find a bunch on my hand. i started noticing a severe lack of energy which continued into bad headaches that would last days.
Avatar f tn Y’s office and wait for an appointment. You certainly know that medical conditions are treated with medications or procedures, and I cannot think of any way non-medicine and non-procedure therapy. Let me know if you want me to assist you with a consultation with Dr. Y. ********** It was certainly a very nice (and QUICK!) reply, but it's also very depressing. Basically saying there's nothing they can do. I may make an appointment for a year out, just to have a second opinion.
177382 tn?1253044740 Where both Paxil and Cymbalta work on Serotonin the Cymbalta works on Norepinephrine which is the chemical that helps with pain sensation in the body. Since you had a problem with serotonin, just like I do, ask your doctor about Wellbutrin. This medicine focuses on Norepinephrine and dopamine which is an energy chemical. The only problem with Wellbutrin would be if you are bi polar. This would not be good for you. It would bring on a manic phase and the crash would be deadly.
Avatar n tn Thats part of what drove me to opiates to begin with.. that feeling of invulnerability you get.. now of course I realize that it just makes me _more_ vulnerable.. a slave to a pill.
398059 tn?1447949233 Are you aware that RLS is more common in people with MS than in the general population? I saw your post that being able to talk about these things brought up a lot of emotions that you nmormally keep suppressed. That's good. So often we can't talk about the things we are going through, or don't want to talk about the over and over with family and friends. Here we can do it to our hearts' delight.
