Avatar f tn I have a history of a nocturnal seizure over 30 years ago, have been on dilantin and phenobarbitol since. No seizures since until some sort of incident 6 months ago. Many tests later and adjustments of meds find me feeling well. I think I may have had a TIA witnessed by someone in the family. I have no recall and it lasted 30 seconds. I am on Plavix but was off it for 2 weeks because of a needle biopsy of thyroid for nodules.

Avatar n tn i quite dont remember them doing tests besides the ekg and a test where they put her on a table that moved her in all different directions to see if that affected her in any way. there is a lot more involved. i do believe it is a form of complex partial seizures. if she has a seizure she is fine except for a headache after. but if she doesnt have one, her eyes twitch, and she is spacey for 2 to 3 days. i am not a dr but i dont believe it is a form of anxiety.
Avatar f tn Sometimes, the memory loss may affect events from much further back in the past. In addition, the individual often finds it difficult to retain new information and may ask the same question, such as "What day is it?" or "What are we supposed to be doing today?" repetitively. There is, however, no loss of personal identity and close friends or relatives are usually recognised. The physical appearance of the person is normally unchanged.
Avatar m tn t open up links, in the event that there is an associated virus or malware. But maybe you can describe it?
706949 tn?1228923298 I take it your reference article is in Wikipedia. From what I've seen there on heart subjects there is a lot of "good stuff", or so it appears. I understand too that some (much?) of what's there is from voluntary contirbuitons. That said, I recommend you discuss with the prescribing doctor and let s/he know you've see such-and-such as a point-of-reference ... it may even be a good idea to print out the material and take it with you.
Avatar f tn Yes TMS is FDA approved and has been for a while. I put a NAMI link in because Wikipedia links can have misinformation. This should explain better: http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2008/10/09/tms-treatment-for-depression-gains-fda-approval/ I don't believe TMS unlike ECT affects memory long term. It does affect the brain but unlike ECT it does not cause seizures. It appears to have a safer long term side effect profile.
Avatar n tn My 11 year old son suffered a local seizure in left leg followed by a general seizure in 3 hrs. he was suffering frm high fever and was on malaria drug along with doxycycline. his reports like MRI, veinography, CFS, EEG AND OTHER BLOOD TESTS R NORMAL.what could be the reason of seizure? will it repeat. what r the precautions to be taken.
4724796 tn?1361061158 The risks of aspirin late in pregnancy are probably not relevant for topical exposure to salicylic acid, even late in the pregnancy, because of its low systemic levels. Topical salicylic acid is common in many over-the-counter dermatological agents, and the lack of adverse reports suggests a low teratogenic potential.

Hoaxes are presented as fact, conspiracy theories are offered as truth, and some of them may even end up on Wikipedia, one of the most-visited sites online.
Avatar f tn Last year after marriage the frequency increased. Thrice in 3 months. We went to a different doc. He said that he had primary generalized seizure or a right right frontal focus with hemispheric bisynchrony. He also said that carbamazepine is not right medication for it so slowly changed it to kepra. My husband dint have seizures for 5 months. After carbamazepine was completely stopped and he was completely on kepra , he got seizure. He takes 3700 MG ok kepra per day.
Avatar f tn When I am looking at something bright (like a computer screen or a white wall) and I blink, I can see something that resembles a vein or blood vessel in my vision when I first open my eye. It is only in my left eye and it goes away in about a second. I have been experiencing this for a couple of years and I am getting quite concerned because I seem to be noticing it more.

Avatar m tn Then in the early evening, he had a major seizure. This time, he had three of them in a row, and afterward, was back to lethargic. As money is tight because of Christmas, we had no money to take him to the vet until today. He has been lethargic ever since Saturday morning, will only eat beef and rice that I make him and not much of it, he's drinking some water and using the bathroom outside like normal, but all he wants to do all day is sleep. It's very sad. Sooo not himself!
Avatar f tn The past two days I’ve mainly been battling with a constant full, bloated feeling in my stomach and horrendous acid reflux first thing in the morning. I’ve lost my appetite and have to force myself to eat, after which I suffer from severe stomach cramps, gas and the rest. Even hours after eating, I still feel stuffed and my stomach always looks distended and is tender to touch.
