Common Questions and Answers about Seizure in french

Avatar n tn I am a 30yo woman of 100% French Canadian ancestry. I have had increasingly worsening parasthesias in my hands, feet, arms and legs. It feels like electric shocks and needles stabbing the soles of my feet and my arms and hands. Occassionally the numbness and tingling effects parts of my torso neck or face. A recent EMG shows no nerve damage. Though a sleep study shows a lot of limb movement at night, the numbness, pain and tingling are not limited to my legs and is not relieved by movement.
Avatar m tn Also, I wanted to know if anyone has tried Keppra for seizure activity in dogs and if so, how did that work? Our 6 year old French Mastiff had a seizure on Thursday night - first one ever. He walked across our bedroom floor, stood in front of our open door and acted like he saw someone in the hallway. I sat up and said "Archie, there is no-one there. Go back to bed." Then he looked like he was rubbing his shoulder on the clothes hamper and I thought it looked really weird.
Avatar m tn There was no anal (to afraid for that) and he gave me oral with condom. My fear lies in the fact that the french kissing was passionate and from what I learned on this site saliva is not contagious but what worries me is that just a few hours prior to our making out I brushed my teeth and felt clearly a wound on my gum,It hurted when I brushed, not that I began to scream ofcourse but clearly there was a cut or abbrasion somewhere inside my mouth on my gum.
Avatar n tn He said that the scans don't show any cause for this to be happening and it looks like it is curving in rather than the bone thinning in that area. At this point it isn't affecting my brain, so he wants me to repeat the scans in October and come back so he can see if there are any changes. Keep in touch if you find anything out about yours. and feel free to send me a message in my inbox - I have a watch on this post and my inbox and I recieve an email whenever anyone posts to it.
2107676 tn?1388977459 Hey Sweetie, what we are all trying to say is that now early on in recovery we have the balls (pardon my french) to just feel so strong and say i don't want to ever take a pill again, and thats great it keeps us going. But as time goes on by, we tend to quickly forget all the heartache and pain and suffering we went through and so quickly we let our guards down and before you know it, BAM a pill is in your mouth!!! Believe me it happened to me several times.
1793575 tn?1315412970 and even then i'm dreading it..) they didnt give me anything but seizure medicine in october when i was admitted. but theyve been giving me seizure meds and anxiety meds since i was 16. and it didnt work, AT ALL. so i just stopped taking them.. i get muscle jerks and tremmors in my hands and feet every day all day, but i'm learning to ignore those slowly... its when i daze off into space without any warning. i can't control it. i cant get out of it.
Avatar f tn Reglan (metoclopromadine) is a very cheap medication, unfortunately, it is also metabolized in the kidneys, so a too high dose results in toxic levels in the blood. My husband and I discovered that completely bypassing the GI tract by using reglan injections worked much better in the end. Chica didn't get the extra pyramidal side effects (extreme restlessness, shaking and trembling) from the reglan injections that she got from the oral meds.
Avatar n tn But the situation has worsened where he is not even able to walk much becouse of the pain in the thighs and legs. Can you please please advice what can be done in this situation? I was thinking of buying a Nuetrotrac rehab instrument for excercising and improving blood circulation in the limbs .. Whether it is advisable to go for it? And what kind of medicines are usually prescribed for this kind of situation. Please advice. Thanks a lot- Sri.
Avatar n tn I experience severe pain and numbness in my arms (especially my elbows) and hands when sleeping. Sleeping is difficult as a result. I can sleep as little as 15 minutes before the pain wakes me or sometimes a couple of hours... (this is when the pain is the worst). I usually just change positions and feel relief after a minute or two allowing me to return to sleep. This happens repeatedly all night... every night. This has been happening for several years. I am 44 yr.
Avatar m tn They are very random and can occur when she's sitting, walking, running or laying in bed. They also can occur once in a day or week, or several times in the same day. She has had ultrasounds, xrays, mri's, vein tests, nerve tests, etc., and no doctor yet has diagnosed her problem. It scares the heck out of me sometimes because it comes on so quick that there is a violent jerk reaction followed by cries of pain and agony.
Avatar n tn 30 yr. old female, 3 kids, Quebec, Canada, no epidurals, I sleep many different ways, arms usually above head... I have same symptoms! I fell down stairs 7 months ago, and I hold my baby on my left hip, I breastfeed which puts strain on back, stopped breastfeeding in lying position because it twists my back too much - doctor says I must have sprained my back muscle - referred me for massage therapy. Started it today... still no change but I will give it a chance until my insurance runs out...
Avatar n tn I'm not sure someone can live with Crohn's for 50 years. In 50 years my son will only be 63! I am in agony here and have thought of jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge or swallowing all the Lexapro's and Xanax's they gave me in my garage with the car engine on. Please don't tell me my chld needs me because I cannot bear to sit around and watch him suffer. He might be better off without me crying in front of him all the time.
Avatar f tn He takes phenobarb twice a day, with an extra one shortly after a seizure occurs. With meds, the episodes are farther apart and less severe. In the beginning he would lose bowel and bladder control. He always starts spinning to the right when it happens so his owner has to bulldog him so he doesn't bash himself into the walls, trees, furniture - whatever. You can imagine doing so while the dog loses control of his bowels. Not pretty for either one of them.
Avatar n tn I think I am having several small seizures during the day that go unoticed by other people and then every few weeks I will have one where I will stare for 10 seconds or more that my husband will notice. After a longer seizure, I will sleep for several hours. On a day in which I have a longer seizure, I am irritible and moody.
Avatar f tn But the fact is that this expectorant is used to loosen and thin mucus of a different kind too, called cervical mucus, in women. Robitussin is only a specific brand and any expectorant that contains guaifenesin as the only active ingredient can be used in its place. Generic versions are most likely available as well. Be sure to carefully inspect the ingredients list to make sure the ONLY active ingredient as guaifenesin. Any other ingredients can diminish the effect you are looking for.

Avatar n tn I was on seven mg of Klonopin at the time though because I had just lost my job due to the seizure disorder and was called in by surprise for the test on short notice. I also now can speak a fluent foreign language after so many seizures and no one here on Guam can explain it or even seems interested in it.
Avatar n tn Textbook definitions clearly do state that consciousness is impaired in that type of seizure. However, in our experience at the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center we have seen some patients who state that they do remain completely cognizant of things happening around them (especially with right hemispheric epilepsy) and are able to recall details or words given to them during the seizure, they just cannot interact normally.
1472248 tn?1292614695 The first year at school, PS, he was in a shcool affiliated to his nursery, where everything is in french also. He dont has any problem with the french language, he is always watching french TV programs, talking all the time with his brother and friends in french, and even with us. On the contrary we have a difficulty to make him use the arabic language and to convince him that he must know it well, because at school he has several foreign friends and no one is speaking arabic there.

Avatar n tn By November - Thanksgiving seizures were lasted for 1/2 hour coming in clusters. Phenobarbital was perscribed and slowly increased. Testing in hospital did not reveal anything. Three doctors including neurologist examined him and oversaw medication. By December seizures were happening every month lasting 1 hour. Further blood work, MRI and Cat scan did not reveal any abnormalities. Next few months seizures were happening every three weeks until death. We are devasted ....

186936 tn?1195559297 I walked into a supermarket, did my shopping, paid for my food, took my bag and wallet to an empty checkout, to pack things properly and put cash and receipts away - and the next thing, or rather in a split second before leaving this planet, I remember thinking; "this is what happened before".............................................................................. ....................................

Avatar f tn Yes, sometimes these electric signals can also 'recruit' bacteria from outside of the biofilm (even bacteria from different species), but these recruited bacteria still need to be in relatively close proximity to the biofilm. In other words, it's unlikely that bacteria in a PATMer's body could send out electric signals that affect bacteria in other people's bodies, causing them to show an immune response (if that's your argument?).
Avatar n tn I found a question I and some other volunteers answered in the archives, maybe it could help you. I was wondering if you might be frustrated at the moment because of your diabetes and the restrictions and limitations we sometimes encounter. Here is the gist of it: I have a friend who was in the army and I called her for some advice. Did you look on their website? Or did you go and visit(a base)--that might be a good idea--then you could talk to people and get some answers.
Avatar f tn I went and got grapes, cantaloupe, a boiled egg and french toast with syrup. Fruit sugar, carb sugar, and straight up sugar. I feel better - but still not great. Still weak and shaky. I ate at 8am. it's 10:24. Have any of you felt this way pregnant or not? I'm concerned.
Avatar n tn Valproate is a mood stabilizer (though that is not the reason he is being prescribed the medication). Anti-seizure drugs are often employed as mood stabilizers in children (rather than prescribe Lithium). There can be a number of reasons for tics, and sometimes they are not worrisome symptoms. But they are not regarded generally as a tolerable side effect if they are brought on by stimulant medications. In the U.S. and, I believe, in the U.K.
