Avatar n tn 48:03: : : I have recently been diagnosed as suffering from partial seizure epilepsy by a consultant neurologist at my local hospital, following an extended episode of deja vu. My problem is that while I accept that I may have experienced seizures, I have reasonable grounds for suspecting that they are induced by some kind of spinal problem.

Avatar f tn The aura is where you start feeling REALLY weird like your going to go crazy, feel like your going to die right before you seizure, limbs with pins and needles, numbness, especially in my lips/face, headache, my muscles will burn, freezing, profuse sweating, and this could last all day before I have a seizure in the evening. Video games don't bother me (hubby is relentless with those, lol).
Avatar m tn Thank you in advanced and to anyone that has recommendations or advice. He plays video games a fair bit and watches movies. Nothing flash or like Japanese anime.
Avatar n tn He also suffers from migraines, light and sensory sensitivity and he absolutely cannot handle video games. They cause a violent reaction and migraines and absence seizures for days afterwards.
Avatar f tn And of course I went into a high anxiety state thinking i was getting ready to have a seizure cause I had been playing some racing games on the wii before the symptoms started. I have no history of epilepsy. That's just a fear I have. Well, after laying down I felt fine. And thought it was my sinuses or ear. The next morning I noticed when I tilted my head down I felt it again but wasn't too severe.
Avatar n tn All I know is that I lived in an almost constant state of jello(the way my body felt) and dizziness for about 2 - 3 years. Then I found out the video games made me feel that way as well as police lights, lightning at night, and computer screens at certain times. So, recently my neurologist said that she wanted me to get a second opinion and I suggested a dr. that I heard was awesome and she never called me tmw I think I'll call and remind her that they owe me a call. Smile.
Avatar n tn Also, my son has an egg timer next to him whenever he is on the computer or the playstation or gameboy, we limit his time on, followed by a break.... I think video games, played a big part in his seizure activity. Good luck, keep positive thoughts, and everyone be safe and healthy... ((((((hugs))))) Brenda s.
163305 tn?1333672171 Pain control for sure, but it also has shown to ease symptoms associated with Parkinson's, seizure disorders and the like. There was a little girl having upward of 300 seizures a week. Any one of them could have meant the end for her, and she had no quality of life. I believe she was 3 or so. I can't remember the name of the disorder she had, but this poor child - it was awful. Doctors had tried everything, including some medications that in themselves could be life threatening.
502999 tn?1211508168 Just do the first step and accept that it is anxiety and when you feel an attack coming on, do something that would normally relax you. Someone mentioned web games...they help me!! Or video games, reading, taking a walk, calling a friend and talk about other things besides your anxiety. Once you find something that helps you you'll start to feel better...I promise. Take care...I know how you feel.
118225 tn?1278658540 My son usually looses privileges for misbehavior, like playing outside, or TV, or video games, stuff like that. My DH is always telling me that I'm not hard enough on him, and that I need to be stricter, so when the final bus thing happened a few days ago I told him that I was canceling his trip to his grandparents house, as he obviously has not earned it or shown me he is responsible enough for it. Is this a reasonable punishment? I am willing and open to hear all opinions.
Avatar f tn I felt like it might be a good day, espiclly since my twitches wernt bothering me as much since i was kinda getting used to them. But aa i sat in a chair playing video games, i notcied how i couldnt atay focused on my tv. It was like i was so bored i was looking passed the tv, but i couldnt concentrate no matter how hard i tried. My pulse started getting fasteras so was my breathing & i felt light headed & dizzy. Then i felt like it was a dream.
Avatar f tn Also, if your son uses the computer watch out for the websites your son maybe going into, some of these video games are very sexual and display sexy characters. Next, you need to get your son as healthy as possible and detox and nourish his brain and body before starting with a new Physiatrist and on new meds. First, you must ask at least 3 other doctors (odds 2 out of 3) if you could detox and slowly weave your son off all medications for at least a week or two.
388261 tn?1215403444 You get to a state of needing the drug to be human. You can interact with humans, work, take care of your kids, do homework, play games, wash the dog, make dinner, pay bills, and live like anyone else, but you need that drug to be "normal". Drugs change everything about who you are....who you once were. They change you into a completely different animal. For example, my agoraphobia, which I never had in my life before detox, got really bad when I was on Heroin.
Avatar f tn phenomenon, I've never really understood it, and don't really care to - I think of it as a bunch of creative energy that builds up whenever I experience new things. Playing video games as a kid got me so intensely excited(all the images and music and sound and action!) my parents saw that as the "cause" of it and tried to limit me as much as they could :P I also did well in school, I am highly creative, and have a knack for the arts - language, writing, music, etc.
Avatar f tn There are so many cultures that do not accept the idea of depression or any other mood disorders. . . this leads to people not understanding what to do when they know that they have it, or if they know someone close to them has it.
724734 tn?1230944872 Is this all in my head or are there physical disorders that can result in these feelings? My only other lead is that I started feeling this way shortly after I moved in to my new apartment, so it's possible there's some sort of mold that's making me have problems. I also feel somewhat better when I visit my parents out of state for a week, but that could very well just be in my head or a result of lessened anxiety...Who knows. I just need help and I honestly don't know what else to ask.
Avatar m tn My shrink says it is a symptom of an anxiety disorder. My sons have been diagnosed with various disorders within the Autism spectrum although neither of the rock. Since Autism spectrum disorders are often hereditary I wonder if my rocking is a symptom of a disorder within that spectrum.. I am also glad that I am not the only one who does this..
Avatar n tn One night I had a grand mall seizure and that at least got people looking for something wrong instead of blowing it off as I was crazy. I take medication every day, but have had a few more seizures and the Dizzy, feeling tired, getting all worked up while driving continues. Sometimes worse than others. For along time driving five miles to work was something I worried about all day.(worked nights) I finally (after 5-6 years) refuse to be controlled by this feeling and it does help...
Avatar f tn 123que double posted this thread and on the twin thread someone comments on it claiming it to be a "simple partial seizure". I've since read up on SPS's and the symptoms are only vaguely similar and seeing as all three of us have the exact same symptoms I doubt it is a simple partial seizure. The symptoms are much to specific to simply be pushed into some vaguely similar preexisting disorder.
Avatar n tn I stayed home and relaxed... no working. Just me at home doing the things I love to do. I baked and sewed and played alot of video games. But there has been no improvement. I have a cane to walk with for the really bad days... days like the day I collapsed in walmart while grocery shopping, or like the day I ran a red light and nearly caused a 3 car pile up when my right leg seized up on the gas pedal. I guess some of it has been a blessing in disguise.
Avatar n tn I got on the computer for about an hour then played some video games for about an hour and a half... I decided to go to bed, laid down for 30 minutes and bam. My life hit a brick wall going 300MPH. My heart began pounding. I was scared, I thought I was having a heart attack or I had overdosed (from pot! hahaha) or I was really sick... I tried to wait it out but the next morning I was still having problems. I went to the hospital and waited for hours (it was when swine flu broke out).
537497 tn?1292556656 I am deinitly understanding how you feel. I always feel like I am dying 90 percent of the day. Our minds play games with us and for me I admit, I feed on my thoughts. I even when as far as buying a blood pressure cup device to check my pulse and blood presseure all throughout the day..ughhhh ! The things I am always going to the doctors with something new that is a wrong with me and racking up more bills for myself. They are giving me a clean bill of health except for panic and anxiety.
