Avatar n tn These symptoms can not be localized to one particular area, and therefore more systemic disorders should be evaluated. Broad areas to have evaluated include connective tissue diseases, inflammatory conditions, and vitamin B12 dysfunction. A MRI of the brain may be reasonable to help exclude structural lesions. Good luck.
Avatar n tn If you didn't have the spine imaged, you should talk to your doc as MS can show up there too. Hypothyroidism can certainly be a cause of your symptoms. Once treated adequately, your symptoms may improve. Another test that may be helpful is an EMG to see if this a problem of your peripheral nerves. Laboratory workup such as ANA, sed rate, blood count and electrolye profile can also help rule out other potential problems such as lupus and other rheumatological disorders.
Avatar m tn I do not have diabetes. I do show signs of liver damage at every test I've ever done; ALT has been 1,500 and recently 300 - I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Blood pressure has been regularly 190/95 but every 5th time it seems to be normal. 12 doctors and not one has seen this as an issue. Pulse is normal.

Avatar n tn I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect. Light headedness, the runs, blood pressure going up, and general fatigue. Lots of fatigue. And some irritability. I am hoping that these symptoms begin to decrease soon. Well, they have gotten better than it was in the first 2 days. I am still wondering how long I can expect to have these side effects of withdrawal?
445286 tn?1205134504 I was at church and our class had just started when I noticed my vision had changed so I went home and the symptoms followed the path that they did before. since it was sunday I had to wait untill monday to go to the doctor. he wasn't able to tell me much except that a few of the signs sounded like optical migraines. so that was the end of that. I continued to get them about once a year almost on an annual occurance.
Avatar n tn I was only out of work for 2 weeks and during that time was somewhat out and about. Symptoms of a new illness presented in March, starting with a canker sore, and progressing to flu like symptoms. I noticed greenish/brown mucus and tooth pain and went to doctor for an anti-biotic (I think Bactrim). I took the antibiotic which seemed to clear up what I thought was a sinus infection but I still wasn't feeling better and my glands were very swollen (they still are too a degree).
Avatar n tn Some of what I have read here leads me to believe that a TIA is a stroke that totally reverses itself and all symptoms go away within 24 hrs. Guess where I kept finding my search results directing me to? Heroin withdrawal.
Avatar f tn What is the Babinski Sign?... “Is MS the only disease which causes damage along the corticospinal tract? If I experience Babinski sign, does that mean I have MS?” No.
Avatar f tn In view of your history and all those hypo symptoms, I urge you to go and get tested for Free T3 and Free T4, as previously suggested. If the doctor resists, then you should insist on it and don't take no for an answer. The vast majority of doctors seem to have the "Immaculate TSH Belief" or only use "Reference Range Endocrinology". This doesn't work. In order to get the testing and treatment needed, patients have to be their own best advocate.
Avatar m tn Conversion disorders are disorders in which the patient suffers from symptoms of diseases that he does not actually have. The symptoms of a pseudoseizure are almost same as those of an epileptic seizure, but their origin is psychological, not neurological. One of the characteristic differentiating feature of an epileptic seizure is that there is an abnormal discharge of electricity from the brain during the seizure whereas there is no such electrical discharge during a pseudoseizure.
Avatar n tn She had one dose of phenobarb at birth due to some neonatal seizure activity. She currently is doing very well at 5 1/2 months old with no strong symptoms of brain injury, just some slower gross and fine motor skills. Moreover, you seem to have a imbalance problem unlike the gait problem which is typical shuffling gait characterized by short steps, with feet barely leaving the ground, producing an audible shuffling noise with decreased arm-swing.
Avatar n tn Hi, How is your child now? An acute impairment of speech output indicates a possible underlying vascular, infectious, inflammatory, or traumatic pathology. Did he have any fall or injury while playing game? Does he have any fever or chronic lethargies’? As imaging is normal and EEG is reported abnormal brain waves in right frontal lobe suggest that he might have seizures. Since he is improving with Tegretol, he needs to continue and report to neurologist for any other new finding in him.
419158 tn?1316575204 But my question is for mothers who have had childrenn with seizures. What are the signs and symptoms?? MY son started crying kinda funny, I dont how eles to explain it except that it was like he couldnt cry, when I picked him up he got jerky in my arms and got stiff. He started foaming at the mouth, kinda like a rabitt dog. The whole time crying. He looked so scared. Maybe it wasnt a seizure but I was freaking out. It only lasted about 3-5 minutes but seemed alot longer.
Avatar f tn If you read that paragraph carefully, you will see these symptoms listed under the seizure category, specifically noted as "Focal Seizure." Muscle twitching and tingling are NOT exactly the signs of a brain tumor any more than they are an EXACT symptom of a hundred other disorders. One being anxiety compounded by hypochondria. One of the major problems with going to symptom sites is that people latch onto the ONE symptom..............
Avatar n tn Believe it or not, many of the symptoms you have described are those of a child suffering from severe anxiety. In fact, some of the latest research in this area is indicating that children suffering from anxiety are "behind" emotionally and have a lot of difficulty with self-regulation issues. The only item you mentioned that does not indicate anxiety is the "seizure" issue.
