Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself.

i hear you on the second hand smoke, and i used to be a smoker too, i quit the day i found out i was pregnant - and it wasn't hard cuz i had noticed a week before we found out they weren't doing anything for me- and actually making me turn "green" But my husband still smokes... and i can't stand it!!

I see you joined Med help recently. Cigarette smoke is an asthma trigger. I know this because I have asthma and if I smell second hand cigarette smoke, I always start coughing and usually have to end up using my asthma inhaler. Did you say your friend uses an asthma pump before smoking a cigarette ? Did you also say that your friend smokes 20 cigarettes a day. So am I to understand that your friend is using his asthma pump before smoking a cigarette and he smokes 20 cigarettes a day ?

Second hand smoke is ALWAYS worse then doinq it yoursef. If youre around it a lot I would say yes there's a chance. I personally can't stand the smell of it and always leave the place or say somethinq if some1 is smokinq but like u said u can't prevent it .

Either way to be honest I smoked my whole pregnancy with my 2ND daughter and only stopped the month before I was due and never had a problem (I'm not suggesting picking the habit back up ijs you shouldn't worry) I do however avoid all smoke with this pregnancy and definitely don't permit it in my house or car.
