smoking

2006603 tn?1331329327 There are many risks with second hand smoke exposure even for ppl who are not pregnant. Second hand smoke can cause under developed lungs, increase the chance of sids, low birth weight, baby can develop asthma and a bunch of other things too. Its good your fiance doesn't smoke in the house or around you but he should get into the habbit of not smoking in the car either. The nicotine can settle into the fabrics which is the same as smoking a cigarette while being in the room with the baby.
Avatar f tn he want smoke around me. So just look up the facts on second hand smoking then present your facts to your family & let them know your concerns regarding your unborn child.
Avatar f tn Look if you're that worried about your baby then seriously just stop going over there. Think about it if you will. You either be alone or go to your grandma's where you will inhale second hand smoke which is way worse than smoking itself. It's terrible that your gma is like that but if she is indeed like that then just stop going over there. She obviously doesn't care to stop so just stay home and try to stay occupied. Your babies health is of the utmost importance.
Avatar f tn No. You can't get high from second hand weed smoke unless someone literally sits there and continuously blows smoke right in your face for countless hours....
1117137 tn?1345227905 i hear you on the second hand smoke, and i used to be a smoker too, i quit the day i found out i was pregnant - and it wasn't hard cuz i had noticed a week before we found out they weren't doing anything for me- and actually making me turn "green" But my husband still smokes... and i can't stand it!!
Avatar n tn t tell they were until this lady literally exhaled the smoke almost in my face as she walked by and I definitely inhaled some second hand smoke -- it was that strong. I literally had to get off the phone and ask them were they serious. I just got a new job and will be expected to take a drug test next week. I normally wouldn't think much of that episode, but am somewhat concerned because I definitely inhaled some of the second hand smoke as they walked by.
Avatar n tn Ive tried explaining to him that second hand smoke can be just as harmful but he doesnt wanna believe me. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it in his head that its important that he stops? Has anyone been thru a similar situation? How bad is second hand pot smoke?

Avatar f tn When I go to visit my mom... second hand smoke... and I b*tch at her to go away or to not smoke at all when I'm there and I try to go In another room but can still smell It. My boyfriend smokes too (he smokes weed though, to be honest) and I get whiffs of It (even though he'll be In another room with the door closed, windows opened, I still can smell It) I haven't had my baby boy yet but I'm 29+6 and had my last u/s at 28+6 and my baby was perfectly healthy.
Avatar f tn its jus smoking & second hand smoke you jus gotta worry about. more of second hand smoke tho.
Avatar f tn Second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking yourself. Second hand smoke kills too, it effects the babies lungs and can cause breathing issues for you both.
Avatar f tn Even second hand smoke can be harmful. Ask them to smoke outside and not around you. Visit smoke free houses. Just the smell can make some women nauseous.
5601615 tn?1383450616 I don't think any kind of smoke is safe for babies
Avatar f tn re not a bad mom, it sounds like you might not have known what to do. Always walk away from smoke. Avoid it at all costs. Second Hand smoke is bad for you and your baby.
Avatar f tn Now that a lot more is known about second-hand smoke, I'm really curious if when I got married to a smoker if that didn't bring on my allergies. Within 1.5 years of being married and living with a smoker, I all of sudden developed severe allergies where I was waking up every 30 minutes because my nose was completely closed up. I became allergic to the world, there's no place I can move to alleviate it.
Avatar f tn Also second hand smoke is bad too; children who grow up in a house with smokers are more likely to be sick and have asthma problems during childhood than those who live with nonsmokers. I know how hard it is to stop smoking, but you have to do your best. Try to remove yourself from people who smoke, if they live with you ask them to start smoking outside. (Especially if they will still live you after the baby is born. Second hand smoke can kill.
Avatar m tn Ask her to smoke outside for your and babies sake. Second hand smoke kills blowing smoke out the window is nit effective as 80% of smoke is invisible and does not all go out the window or blows back in. Your baby's health is number one priority and she should understand this. Smoke contributes to asthma..chest infections..ear infections...sids..even death. Your son shouldn't be breathing fumes for candles either as its a carcinogen same as incense sticks.
1123156 tn?1338863369 Second hand smoke is very dangerous!! Also third hand smoke, which is being in a home that has smokers but they never smoke around you. It is on the coverings of the house and it seeps in the walls etc... My kids never were sick except for when their grandmatoher came to see them and hold them they always got ear infections! I had her change clothes when she got there and wash her face if she was to kiis them and her hands and arms and they never got an ear infection again!
Avatar f tn My partner still smokes and I get his second hand smoke I tell him not to but he says its hard lol I'm early on in pregnancy like 14 weeks and find it kinda disrespectful at times so I can totally understand where you are coming from hun
Avatar f tn It's second hand smoke. So yeah its bad.
Avatar f tn However, second hand smoke might. Also, when the baby arrives, being high may not be the best thing. Babies require present and full minded parents to care for them. :>) Might be time for a life style change. good luck with the baby.
Avatar f tn I would not. Hookah still has nicotine. I am also a firm believer that people should not smoke cigarettes while pregnant as well. I know back in the day people would drink & smoke when pregnant buuuut I'm all about preventing exposure to those things to my baby while in the womb. My husband smokes cigarettes like a chimney and I told him he won't even be allowed to carry our baby after smoking.
Avatar f tn Make sure you continue your healthy habits and stay away from the second hand smoke. SIDS as well as second hand smoke dangers to you and you baby are important considerations in maintaining health for both of you. There are good prescription options for quitting smoking if your husband is willing to discuss them with his doctor. Chantix has had great success and well as Wellbutrin and quitting will keep him healthier for his baby too. Good luck!
