Avatar n tn You are suffering from sea sickness which is characterized by a feeling of nausea and in very severe cases vertigo after spending some time on the sea craft. OTC prescription medicines like Dramamine and Scopolamine help. Apart from these ginger capsules and wearing special wrist bands also help in managing this condition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasickness Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I have seen a patient present with one dilated pupil after he placed a scopolamine patch for sea sickness behind one ear, and then touched one eye without thinking. Do you use OTC eye drops for redness? See the ophthalmologist for an evaluation, and let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if you all have any tips for avoiding sickness post-surgery. Did the scopolamine patch work for you? Zofran? I would love any advice to ease my mind! Thanks so much!!
Avatar n tn You're technically in a short-term 'addictive' phase to scopolamine, which is a belladonna alkaloid drug in use for thousands of years. I've taken it for sailing trips, and occasionally for sleep, but it's not a very 'clean' drug, and the doctor is right-- stop taking it.
Avatar f tn Get sea sick bands.
Avatar n tn Have u tried a sea band? They are designed to put pressure between the 2 central tendons in the wrist! I haven't tried it for morning sickness but it worked for sea sickness with me and it's supposed to work for both!
543959 tn?1301315419 hi im really struggling with sickness and im 7 weeks into pregancy, i have read up on sea bands for motion sickness, are these effective for sickness in pregnancy too?
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks 4 days and am desperate to find a cure for morning sickness... I can't keep anything down... Tried vitamin b-12 like my doctor said but that isn't helping... Has anybody tried the sea-band and had a positive experience?? Please! I'm miserably sick..
Avatar f tn I was at the OB today as he wanted to check on baby xyz before I headed from my home town 8 hours away for 6 days of camping, then back home for 48 hours and then 8+ hours in the opposite direction for more camping. I asked for Zofran as I am familiar with it due to the beginning of my pregnancy, I am 14 week + 6 days now, and I was unsuccessful in getting it. (I do have 5 or 6 left from my prescription).
Avatar n tn They are bands designed for travel sickness, you can get them online or at any chemist/pharmacy. I felt they didn't do anything for my morning sickness, they just irritated my wrists! But it is worth a go, some women have noticed a difference.
Avatar f tn Do sea bands work?
Avatar n tn She had a CAT scan -not an MRI- which was also negative. Bottom line, there was no physical cause for her sickness that could be found so we still believe strongly that the scopolomine patch is what caused all of her problems. Anytime the subject comes up, we warn people away from it because of what it did to her. At the end of the day, we're just happy she recovered.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. They said when you remove it to wash your hands really well because the med on the sticker can dialate your eyes and I don't remember what else.
Avatar n tn I had morning sickness for about a week when I was 7 weeks along. Then I bought sea bands and wear them constantly (except to shower.

Avatar f tn I'm definitely not a scientist, and correct me if I'm wrong...but the beta-emitters, H3 and C14, don't damage flesh when they decay, do they? C14 is a naturally occurring biological element from what I remember from archaeology...and I wouldn't worry about it because I would imagine the chance of exposure and subsequent harm would be very low. Tritium I would worry about only slightly more....You may simply have to pull your boss aside and talk to them.
Avatar f tn And pharmacist told me lots of women used it for morning sickness so I bought and tried wearing it. Since then I never missed any days at work and my body went back to normal. My doctor told me you can wear it as long as you want. No harm. Not taking any medication.
