Avatar f tn I was at the OB today as he wanted to check on baby xyz before I headed from my home town 8 hours away for 6 days of camping, then back home for 48 hours and then 8+ hours in the opposite direction for more camping. I asked for Zofran as I am familiar with it due to the beginning of my pregnancy, I am 14 week + 6 days now, and I was unsuccessful in getting it. (I do have 5 or 6 left from my prescription).
1903798 tn?1333905288 I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. They said when you remove it to wash your hands really well because the med on the sticker can dialate your eyes and I don't remember what else.
Avatar f tn I went on a cruise this past weekend and decided to try the scopolamine motion sickness patch. I removed the patch after wearing it for a day and a half because I noticed my right eye had fully dilated. Its unclear if my eye was directly infected by me touching the patch and then my eye or if this was just a side effect (i don't remember touching my eye). My right eye has been dilated for four days now, each day going down a little.
Avatar n tn In the mean time I saw a ENT he said I needed to get off the patch so my body would normalize on its own, and believed I had some motion sickness yet brought on by the cruise and did not know how long it would last. I then removed the patch a 3rd. time and again became very sick, nausea and vomiting the first 24 hours. The second day I am still light headed and nauseated but and taking phenergan to help with the nausea.
Avatar f tn While prophylactic use of meclizine is most effective in the treatment of motion sickness, other factors such as patient age, and type, severity, and duration of motion influence its effectiveness. It has been suggested that meclizine causes fewer anticholinergic effects than scopolamine. Meclizine was approved by the FDA in 1953. For control of vertigo associated with vestibular system diseases: Oral Dosage: Adults and adolescents: The recommended dose is 25—100 mg/day PO in divided doses.
Avatar n tn I am one day short of being free of all things motion sickness related and could not feel better. Total I did a little over a week of the Meclizine after letting my last patch run 4 days. I will NEVER place that patch on my body again. I have my leftover patches in my purse so I can take them to the pharmacy so they can dispose of them properly. Don’t just throw them out. If someone comes across them in the trash it could prove fatal.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if you all have any tips for avoiding sickness post-surgery. Did the scopolamine patch work for you? Zofran? I would love any advice to ease my mind! Thanks so much!!
Avatar n tn I just recently took a long plane trip(6 hours time difference) and since returning I have had debilitating motion sickness plus horrible anxiety. I am on day 6 of this. Could this be hormones? I am 51 years old and haven't had a period in 7 months. I don't know what to do. I can not function because I am quite dizzy and feel sick to my stomach. I am considering making an appt with a neurologist. Help!
Avatar f tn Absolutely. And I never did before. Sometimes when I watch a movie and they zoom in I also get motion sickness.
1664208 tn?1332782950 I had a bad day with being dizzy and neausa. The only thing I did was a little laundry and washed my car and now I suffer for it. It's the little thing's in life that I can't do any more and it is so hard for me to except. I broke down emotionally today because it does get to you not feeling good all the time. My family doesn't understand, but is alway's trying to help make it easier, but of course it doesn't help you feel better.

Lol it was terrible, I would get so mad at BD for every little turn he made Lol.. it does go away and I was so happy when it did, I would avoid leaving the house unless I absolutely HAD to go somewhere, I just hybernated myself Lol.
13335980 tn?1433814733 ve been Lucky with Morning sickness and only had it a handful of times, but if I do too much motion, I end up sick every single time. Was sitting on a swing earlier and ended up getting nauseous. Wasn't even swinging high, just kind of back and forth slowly. Maybe after the first trimester, I'll be able to do more. I'm 7wks 4 days today. Thanks everyone.
Avatar f tn Hi, I went on a trip to the mountains, Took one dramamine for children and really helped my motion sickness but no ill effects from it.
Avatar f tn Can motion sickness be associated with morning sickness, or is it just from my stomach being more sensitive?
Avatar f tn It is used primarily for the prevention of motion sickness. It can cause dryness of saliva and mucus and might help reduce the amount of mucous. You state that your asthma is, "...always out of control because of all this mucus". That could be true, especially if the mucus originates in the upper airways, rather than your lungs. However asthma is not infrequently characterized by excessive mucus and the mucus could be caused by your asthma.
Avatar n tn Vertigo can also be brought on suddenly through various actions or incidents, such as skull fractures or brain trauma, sudden changes of blood pressure, or as a symptom of motion sickness while sailing, riding amusement rides, airplanes or in a motor vehicle. Vertigo can also be caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. It is also one of the more common symptoms of superior canal dehiscence syndrome and Meniere's disease”. Taken from http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn The feeling is a combination of headache and nausea..exact feeling of motion sickness. The only way to get rid of the feeling is to sleep-it-off for a few hours which of course, is rarely practical. Anyone else experience this and had it attributed to the thyroid? Thanks.
Avatar f tn If your not able to get to the doctors right away i went to Wal-Mart and got motion sickness pills. They were very safe to take. I just looked up medicine online that's safe for pregnant women.
Avatar n tn You are suffering from sea sickness which is characterized by a feeling of nausea and in very severe cases vertigo after spending some time on the sea craft. OTC prescription medicines like Dramamine and Scopolamine help. Apart from these ginger capsules and wearing special wrist bands also help in managing this condition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasickness Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Motion sickness pills like dramamine were a life saveer.
528396 tn?1217526013 Oh, I have FM, and I have terrible motion sickness. My motion sickness takes the form of dizzyness and weakness more than nausea. But it is definitely a type of vertigo. I get sick if I drive for too long, or ride in a bus, etc. And sometimes I'll have the same smyptoms if I get up and move around after sitting or having been still for a long period. A homeopathic motion sickness remedy like Hyland's Motion Sickness pills will work wonders for you with this FM symptom !
Avatar n tn in my peripheral vision, dizziness which seems to be vision related, nausea (including vomiting once) and tenderness behind my eyes. I experienced motion sickness for years but this is all new to me and the motion sickness has gotten MUCH worse. What could be happening?
Avatar n tn If you have an ear infection or vertigo it will throw off your equilibrium and cause what seems to be motion sickness. When you are on these forms of transportation, the air pressure is different and throws off the way your brain perceives sounds. if you have a problem with your ear it makes it worse. Sometimes we don't even realize how much our brain depends on our hearing things, like something as simple as keeping balance.
7458937 tn?1391882099 I've NEVER had motion sickness before I was pregnant. I'm 8wks tomorrow. Every time I'm in the car or anything moving I feel so sick! Is there anything I can do to ease it some?
Avatar n tn What is the best way to wean off the scopolamine patch in an elderly person? Can we use the cream instead and slowly increase the time between use?
